The khov folks did a great job of building our new home, keeping in touch with us, and made sure that everything went smoothly up to closing. It was done in a quite hassle-free and timely fashion. So, I am very happy with the experience.

Basis your info I kept my car outside and there was concrete on it and now you guys say I kept in a public place. This is truly unprofessional

Never buy a home from Khov ever again! Worst built quality… even small contractors can build better homes than them.

As a first time homebuyer, the sales co-ordinator kept us in dark the whole time. After umpteen calls and emails I got hold of the construction manager who was very kind and helpful and opened up the communication channel which was really great and got the house completed on time. Design team had no clue and did not help us make the decision . The upgrades quality is very poor and it’s actually worse than the standard ones.

I truly love my home. The location is beautiful and my kids are enjoying the nature around the neighborhood

Very bad experience not recommended anyone

We moved in and reported the various issues we saw. They've been out several times to "fix" the issues. The "extras" we paid for are complete crap (were never informed the paint wasn't washable, lighting fixtures are cheap plastic). Would not recommend this builder at all. Talking to others in the neighborhood, who have had similar experiences. Some are going on 6+ months of waiting for repairs to be done (again).

K. Hovnanian Homes is a great builder to buy a house from. I recommend them to everyone.

Waited for more than a year to get the home complete after signing the contract.

Did a walkthrough before drywall installed and noticed every crack and gap was sealed up before the insulation was put in. Home feel very well sealed up. Even the basement concrete floor is not cold. Its middle of winter and the basement does not feel that cold.

Most of the people I had to deal with were fine. The problems are really difficult for me to wrap my head around because it’s a brand new home. I have one working toilet that still has problems. The front bedroom is very cold. The long clothes rack in my walk in closet fell off the wall. The list is actually longer. I wanted so much to have this be a happy experience. I am 76 and partially disabled and very disappointed.

Overall it was a great experience and we love our new home. It took a bit longer than we had anticipated and felt like things were rushed at the end to get us in.

The overall process was open and Steve was very informative throughout the process. The house was delivered on time with no issues. Great job!!

We contracted to complete a single-family house in December 2020. Estimated completion date was July 1, 2021. We were told that houses closed at that time hit their estimated date. By March, we were told the date would be in August. The basement was not poured until April. Right after we sold our existing house in May, the date changed to September 15. OK, 2.5 months late, we can live with that. We were then scheduled for a pre drywall inspection in early July. No communication when that date was missed. Finally, by mid-August when our emails to our sales rep and the construction manager went unanswered, we reached out to the Chicago market VP to find out what was going on. We then found out that our sales rep had left the company and our construction manager was changed but no one informed us. We completed our pre drywall inspection in early September and were told that our house would be completed before the end of October. Our final walkthrough and closing were actually scheduled for the end of October (Khov's fiscal year end is 10/31). However, two weeks before the inspection, we were notified that the dates would have to be moved to mid-November, Cabinetry was damaged, and they would not be able to complete until then. We had to reschedule all of our utilities and post-closing contractors (i.e painters, window treatment installers, etc.) for a second time. So, after 4.5 months of delays and lack of communication about when we would be able to move in, we finally had our new home and were no longer commuting from our temporary housing at a vacation home 4 hours away. Office personnel was hard to get a hold of and most of the information given to us was incorrect. Design studio staff and construction manager were helpful throughout our experience.

I’ll do the best I can to make this short and to the point. The sales women and the mortgage lady were great, I can’t say enough about their efforts and communication, 5* for them! Now, when it comes to the construction manager his communication, follow through and and ease to work with, was subpar at best. Apparently, there’s no quality control on his end, which is crazy, if he doesn’t do it, who does? No one, I can tell you that. The final walkthrough was bad, horrible drywall and painting. Even after they spent a whole day in there making repairs and touch ups, I’m going to have to spend thousands to have a drywall company come in and make the proper repairs, before we paint. To add to the final construction, horrible trim work too, 45 the corners, when they should be coped, basically caulking everything to hide the amateur trim job. I knew when we walked the model, and I made comments about the trim, paint and drywall, I was told they had new contractors, since the model was built. If proper quality control was done, I doubt he even walked the house, some of the issues were so blatant, that it showed he didn’t care or even check on the progress. Now when it was time to set up our meet ups he was horrible to deal with too. I work swing shift and the wife started a new job and we asked him for just a little flexibility, there was absolutely none, it was in his terms and times and that was it. He said it was because he “wears many hats” and that he likes to be home round 12-1 to start working on paperwork, that just says he doesn’t control his job sites and it shows on the construction and final product. Even look at our back yard, concrete left in the yard, garbage everywhere, just looked horrible. Very disappointed in his performance. Very informative, always professional, and responsive.

Builder is very professional & treating customer very neatly..only concern is finishing not proper.

Our salesperson Gabbi was wonderful and responsive to our needs. Our GC was not as responsive and had excuse after excuse for the delays. Our friends went with a different builder and they broke ground in April and moved in a week before we did, we broke ground in February and closed on September 24 but purchased in November of 2020. We chose to have you paint our interior but the paint is very prone to smudges and stains, maybe give out other paint options.

When I got in to my new home everything was like we expected nice and clean homes and affordable price.

The experience overall was good. However we did run into several delays, and communication could’ve been a little better.

Overall great experience that we would do again

Builder did honor contract price during a period of shortages and price increases. People were great to work with except for our contact at the design center who made some errors and refused to accept blame. That individual is no longer with the company, we understand. Once contract was signed there was no flexibility to change or modify anything . The house seems to be built well but I feel they undersized the heating and cooling system for a two story dwelling. Overall the house is enjoyable and modern and comfortable to live in. I do think that cramming a total of nine houses in a cul du sac has crowded the sight lines and curb appeal of our property that was not evident during the lot selection process. We also have some minor correcting issues and the fixing sub contractors have not shown up to make the corrections that were promised. The builders warranty manager however has been a pleasure to work with as has also been the builders building superintendent . ... More

Great home builder, very satisfied

From the sales person to the builder all very helpful answered all my questions even If it was off the clock always give me there time. love the experience
