Ryan was very good at communicating with me throughout the build. Once i moved in if i had any questions he would respond in a day. He was a pleasure to work with and has helped me throughout my move into my home. I did not give KHov 5 stars on anything due to the sales rep. I am just now finding out that there was a build option that i could of added to my house that was never told to me by sales even after talking about my plans for the house. Now i have to look for outside work and since i am new to the area it is a hassle. It is annoying and now nothing can be done but me searching for a contractor. Other than that home looks good. ... Steve has been a great help throughout the whole process very responsive. Unfortunately other than that construction managers have been moved around and we eventually had to have Keith involved and now have his direct contact so hopefully things get fixed 7 weeks after gold key presentation.

We built in a new home the before the build process went very smoothly. The build itself went fast and was completed ahead of schedule. We have run into few issues since moving in and every time someone comes to fix or repair the issues we’re told it’s not their fault and someone else has to come. Only to ignore the issues in the home.

We had several minor things that need repair. We moved in July 20th and are still waiting to have these issues resolved. They are minor but it is aggravating that we can’t get someone to fix these small issues.

Overall a good experience. There were some minor hiccups and misleading details, but not that big of a deal in the end. I feel I got a great home for a great price.

Initial buying experience was good. Connie was fantastic. Unfortunately once the sale was complete it feels like they just completely dropped us off their radar. We had a set timeframe to move in due to work constraints. I completed what they refer to as a gold key walkthrough and noted many items that needed to be completed or fixed. Around half were left undone. One of the most annoying issues being that the washer and dryer that came with the house were never hooked up. Waited weeks for necessary parts, that were missing, to be dropped off only to have to do the hook up myself due to timing and availability issues. The washer ended up being defective. Took more than 2 months after we moved in to finally have a working washer. The house was also supposed to have a cleaning done prior to our move in but was never done. We have been finding more and more things off with the finishing in the few months we have been in the house. Cracks in the corner seams, nail pops, trim that was cut jagged and never fixed, areas that appears to have never been actually painted, etc. I have also noted recently that the thermostat installed in the house reads about 3-5 degrees colder than what the temperature actually is, once again small but adding to the pile. We closed at the end of October and our issues have supposedly been sent further up the chain but as of the beginning of February we still have yet to even get so much as an I'm sorry from anyone other than the sales person we initial delt with. I have no doubt that we can turn this into a home, but it's going to take a lot of effort on our end that, for the amount of money, shouldn't have to be put into a brand new house. We also had an issue in the past few weeks where paperwork for the loan was suddenly "not detailed enough" for the financers and needed more info after our mortgage was sold off to another company before we had even made our first payment. I am not usually one to complain and am generally a very accommodating person, but the overall experience with KHov has been pretty disappointing. ... More

Victoria and Josh (construction) were absolutely amazing to work with. Everyone else was not great. I hated the title company we had to work with because KHOV wouldn’t allow us to use a different title company. Our lender was even worse and would not respond or answer questions and when he did it was not a positive experience. Our actual home is gorgeous, however we have had things break or be broken upon move in and it’s been really annoying to deal with when it’s a brand new home. My advice to you is to do your research, make sure it’s the perfect house, and bring a realtor.

My biggest complaint is that we moved in February knowing that we would not have a yard or driveway until spring. It is frustrating now to see quick move-in get landscaping and a driveway,prior to those that have bought earlier in the year. We did know that if your home closed after April prior to you moving in, you would have to have a driveway and landscaping completed. I understand that, but I don’t understand why you continue to build homes that have not even been sold and you’re not completing the work on homes where families moved into prior to April.

To start off there are only 2 outlets that were put in my entire basement. So I will eventually need to hire an electrician to install more outlets. The master bathroom had the cheapest worst looking single vanity I had ever seen. I had to buy a new double vanity to put in & hire a plumber. There is so much wind around that there is noises that happen right outside the master bedroom bathroom when it’s windy. They did not tell us about sealing our countertop in the kitchen so I had to learn the hard way. I figured they would have had the countertop already sealed for us when buying a new home, or at least tell us about it. Our building manager forgot all about us the moment he gave us the keys..moved in Sept 2022 and still no grade approval no explanation no follow up.

It was not understood about the timeframe involved in picking your selections. When we thought we had 3 days to cancel the entire purchase - it was 3 days to make any changes to the initial construction floor plan. We wanted to make further changes after the 3 days and were not allowed. Didn't make any sense since the plans are basically the same and no monies were spent. The appointment from the initial construction choices to the appointment to pick your selections within the house should NOT be far off. This will allow you to know the Total amount that you are really spending - up front. Our basement sump pump broke during construction and the basement flooded causing major damage to the concrete finish and further damage was caused by the construction crew using acid wash trying to fix it. It has been a big struggle to get resolved - still waiting. Our home looks beautiful, our basement looks 40 years old and looks like a dungeon. ... More

The lines of communication were lacking during the build. Many upgrades that a typical person would like were not options. Once the process started there were no changes allowed. Once the house was completed the yard was never graded and remained a mess for months. This builder doesn’t help with the outside at all, even though they tell you they will. After moving in, there are design flaws with kitchen storage and electrical outlets in the master bath and the basement.

We love our new home; however communication could have been better and felt our concerns were brushed off. Paint on walls and wood trim SHOULD have been done better.

We were surprised by how inflexible they were. Also, the house was cleaned nicely but they left a bunch of scrap and junk in the easement ditch on our lot behind the home. We will have to live with this unsightly situation until spring and then will have to clean it up ourselves or pay someone to clean it up. We were told they will level the yard somewhat and put down straw which did not happen

Did not take care of requests to fix problems with the house.

Better than a Ryan home, but still a builder-grade home!

We do like our new home but unfortunately there is zero response to issues. I would expect some issues but a timely response would go a long way. A brick fell off the house several weeks ago and it’s still sitting there. We moved in on March 1st and still do not have a graded yard or any communication as to why newer homes around us have been graded/seeded and ours is still dirt. Everyone has garage door hardware but not us. Some not exterior painting was completely missed and left untouched. That’s not a huge deal but it’s adding to our irritation. House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec. As you can imagine there was not much time for a thorough inspection (not that it appeared the builder had done one) and we are still finding issues. Quality of maters and workmanship is below my expectations.

Lies, shady tactics, and false promises. Offer ZERO options, no follow through, once you sign you are immediately forgotten about. Will never recommend KHov nor will I ever build with KHov again

Sales person was awesome. Warranty dept. Has been nothing but broken promise after broken promise. Not one item on a long list has really been addressed yet. After they receive the check, they forget about the new homeowner. It has been very frustrating to say the least, nothing like what was promised.

First we bought the home as we were moving from different state to Ohio and did video walk through and of course the faults of the home were not shown or discussed! Second when I inquired about why there was no deck on the back of the house I was told “we don’t build decks you will have to subcontract that out” However when I arrived to the community I seen decks built on other homes and they’re all exactly the same and clearly built by KHOV and when I inquired why we were not offered that I was told, “ we don’t build them on Spec homes “ if we did it for you you could not move In until January. It does NOT take 5 months to build a deck.! The center island in kitchen shakes as well as Mitch floor due to structural design flaw with no I beam. Also our lawn is not a lawn by any standards and has many wholes and zero good soil and old fill/clay dirt. There are many more issues and I am deciding on course of action to take. ... More

This process started out great. It was quick and painless. As we got into the build things started to go wrong time after time. Things such as our basement flooding 2 separate times due to errors made by the contractors. For us to then move in and still have a thick layer of mud/dust from the mud all over our basement. We had to fight to have the concrete replaced for our driveway because it was so rippled it would have been destroyed in a few short years. We had cracks on our step for our porch, which were still not fixed properly. We reached out to our building manager for a few simple things once the home closed, and have yet to have these items corrected. Our furnace wouldn’t turn on the first cold day of the season and we called the emergency line for them to tell us we had to wait multiple days for the heating company to come out and they’d call to have it scheduled, but when we called the company to follow up because we hadn’t heard from them 24 hrs later they said they heard nothing from KHovnanian to schedule them to come out. This process started great and ended with a bad taste in our mouth. Although we love our home, the process to get to here was more stressful then we expected. The many errors that occurred throughout the process were careless errors that could have been prevented with more attention to detail. Would we recommend your build to someone else? I wouldn’t say we wouldn’t because the home is much nicer then most local builders, but we will be sure to explain our struggles throughout this process. ... More

The framers were fantastic. Most of the contractors are garbage. When we moved into our home we found we had a water pressure issue after new lawn install builder blames city city blames builder still no fix. Many small drywall issues never fixed. And still missing light fixtures in the home a month after closing.

This is a production builder. The emphasis is creating a stream-lines process to build a home in the fastest time possible. That is a good thing, just know that the selections are extremely limited and once you have made your selections, there is no turning back.For the most part, employees were helpful and easy to work with. When adjustments and remediation were needed on the house, they were completed in a timely manner.
