More attention to details would improve the experience

My wife and I just recently moved into a beautiful new townhouse in the new Hilltop community in Cedar Grove, NJ. We love the layout, space, and location of our new home. Our only complaint would be with some of the quality of work. It seems the pandemic may have forced Khov to cut some costs, and our townhouse quality suffered a bit. There seem to be a bunch of small things wrong, that you would believe wouldn't have passed quality control in the past. For instance, our optional luxury soaking tub leaked the very first time my wife used it, causing leaking through the ceiling on the floor below. That is something that should have been more thoroughly inspected in a brand new luxury townhouse. There is also grouting work between tiles that is already coming up, or was missing in the first place. ... More

Good overall experience. All team members very attentive and responsive. Have had few issues with the home but all have been addressed.

The sales office was great. The building work met my expectations. The in house loan process was not the greatest and the representative (Nicole) made me feel that my time and business was not important. Most of the time she kept requesting things after hours and delayed response asking for additional items that I had to leave the house to retrieve during this COVID pandemic. Never apologized and simply not a way to do business and lack of empathy.

Lacy and I are very happy with our home that your amazing team built is here at Soltice. Allison , Brian and Andy were helpful through the whole process. I’m also in the business of building homes and have an eye for defect. Although I picked out a lot of items at the walk though all were addressed at the sign off. My family are so happy with the home !

Our salesperson, and construction manager were great, and a pleasure to work with. They overcame some big hurdles to make sure we got what we wanted.

Everyone at K Hovnanian Homes was wonderful and so helpful throughout the process. A few downside - I did not get the farmhouse sink I wanted even if I requested this change in the early phase of construction and was willing to pay the difference. I just wish there was some flexibility; had issues with our granite countertops not being presealed and us not being informed. But overall, a great experience. I would like to give a shoutout to our construction manager who was always available to answer any questions or concerns we had prior to and once we moved to our new home.

First I want to say if it wasn’t for Brandy the experience would be a lot worse. From start to finish Brand made sure we were always informed and feeling good about our house. Truly was the big reason we bought with Khov. The building and construction side I just never trusted the process. This not my first build so I have understanding how it should go. Really felt like my house didn’t have someone watching over it and the contractors could do whatever they want. Then we would send notes to help fix and really would never get an answer or waited till final will through and then was still fixing issues after I signed. We have a lot of things we picked out not happen or get something else. Didn’t see like the construction team really cares about the selection sheet. If we didn’t say something I’m sure we would of got upgrades we didn’t pay for but was put in. We had a small issue with how our dishwasher was framed. They addressed and on final walkthrough it was worse what they fixed. What was said is well our contractor do things differently depending who does it. Weird answer when I knew how to fix it. Then they came back to fix it and it looked better and we thought it was done. Then came back a third time to fix it again. Just seems like contractors do what they want and the team accepts hoping the customer doesn’t say anything. Attention to detail just lacks on the construction team. They are all very nice and I know a lot of changes have happen but my home is forever. We will be using the warranty a lot cause the more you live in there the more I notice. My last home that was built I didn’t use it once cause the attention to detail was amazing. Which I’m sure only helps the bottom line in a business. Always willing to give more fees back if asked. If you have a truck ensure your attempt to put it in the garage to see if it fits. This is something I didn’t do and wish I did. My truck doesn’t fit in my garage forcing me to park across the street

The construction manager was great! The sales practice and tactics need another look, but overall they came together in the end.

Constuction quality is good. Possible improvement in the refinement of structures. Scope for further improvement in surfacing soil before laying the lawn. Wood fence quality is average.

Patrick was prompt in responding to text and calls. Everyone involved in the closing was knowledgeable. The whole staff had a helpful and friendly attitude.

the house buying process was very smooth. The responses and feedback from the KHOV team was very satisfactory.

We recently bought our home in K HOV and I am writing this review a little after we did our closing. The experience so far has been little above good. There are a bunch of customization & selection that were allowed to be done but most of them comes as a package. The staff seems to be very experienced and the does a nice job almost every time. More often than not there are little to no follow ups. Overall if I see I would recommend KHOV

Our home is beautiful but there has been a lack of quality re-work on concern areas.

Builder was very helpful and responsive. Need to get option prices up front during the sales process.

Jeremy, Meredith and Nia were awesome and were always doing their best to find out the answers to our questions. They made us feel comfortable and talked us through the whole process as best as they could.

The sales team was outstanding to work with. If you use them as a lender, sometimes their are issues with communication with loan officers during the different stages of the loan process especially during the end of the company fiscal year (October). Overall, good experience.

It has been one month since we moved in. We had no major issue, except one week delay due to electricity permit from the town. K. Hovnanian paid for our hotel for that week. The house is beautiful, well done. After we moved in, we had our own inspector to do a report and it came back clean. Also, we had our home insurance sending their rep to check on the quality of the structure and windows and the same results – well built. The only branch that made us wonder was the Escrow Company. K. Hovnanian Homes are very nice homes, and Standford Park is a lovely area, near highway 75. As for the construction of the home, the builder and sales person's do a great job keeping you informed on the progress of the build. This was my second home purchase, and the KHOV team was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They answered every question i had truthfully and in a timely manner. What i wish i could have gotten is (1.) a bigger garage, 20' deep garages are not designed for the Texas truck driver. My full size truck will not fit in my garage, this leaves it open to the Texas weather. (2.)Also the options although good are somewhat limited, I understand the concerns of the seller, to not personalize the home before all the paperwork is signed, but there should be a few more interior and exterior options that can be added during the build, and not left to the buyer to do once the home is complete. (3.) and this is truly personal, is that the 14'x18' upstairs living area, is truly not 14'x18' when you include the stairway. Overall, i am very happy with my new home, and the neighborhood. and so far, the few concerns i have had have been promptly handled, and in a very professional manner. ... More

All in all, we had a good experience purchasing our home. The sales staff was patient and took time to make sure we had all the information we needed. We were not expecting all the upgrade and add-on options, but felt we needed some to make the house more functional for us. The incentives they offered helped to keep the cost down. The design center experience was more then we expected. The base line finishes were not up to the standards we expected for this price point home so we spent more then we wanted to get higher quality finishes. Upgrades were very expensive by my standards and options were minimal within a given level of upgrade. Dealing with KHOV's financing group was very easy and they offered very good rates. The on-site warranty team was very responsive and took care of all our issues quickly. Penelope and Deborah could not have been more helpful during the construction phase and followed up in person on several occasions. I would do business with KHOV again. ... More

The loan processing was extraordinary.. But the final walkthrough of the house before closing was not upto the mark... all the issue pointed put during first walk through were not corrected and what was found was the blue tape was just removed and when finally asked they suggested we raise. Maintenance request to complete the issues.. which was not expected..construction supervisor need to take care of these issues for these issues for a better experience to new home owners
