They did what they said they were going to do, Very professional very friendly quality work

When it came time to select our new home, we looked at many options before falling in love with the KHov design for the model we selected. It was really a perfect fit for our needs and we really enjoy the house now that we are in it. The purchasing experience was great, and Victoria was simply awesome and extremely responsive. We used KHov Mortgage due to the incentives offered. Our main contact was very helpful, but the work behind the scenes was very opaque with some mistakes and it was not a good experience. Our construction manager was a pleasure to work with, keeping us well-informed throughout the process and taking the time to send periodic progress pictures, which we greatly appreciated. We completely understood the pandemic-induced construction delays that pushed our move-in date by months. Given all this, it was a fairly good buying experience, despite COVID, but the part that matters most is the quality of the house you actually move into. This is my third new construction purchase, so I expect a decent number of punch list items. Past builders addressed most reported items within a few days and I expected the same. What we encountered was a host of quality issues that went beyond the cosmetic. Service requests raised with KHov sat for more than three weeks before anyone even discussed them with us because their service department is overwhelmed. The double whammy of peak demand in a hot home market and a rekindled economy that has put the construction labor force in tight supply has made it really tough for builders. It seems like many of the trades are over-scheduled right now, more inexperienced people are holding jobs, and materials are hard to procure in a reasonable timeframe. Given this, our somewhat disappointing service experience may not be so much a reflection on KHov solely and could well apply to most builders in our area and perhaps beyond. The construction manager is too rude. Every question or issue that you have, a simple answer from him will be "it is within the spec, so we are not going to touch it again". The quality of the home and finish is too bad all the way from dry wall, driveways, brick and stone work, concrete work, caulking, hardwood, etc. They left some open sharp nails on the dry wall.

I've always wanted a K. Hovanian Home. VERY happy to own one.

The sales team is like a used cars salesmen. Promising the sky and screwing you over. You walk in and fall in love with the model home and they tell you to put a down payment down without helping you price out items. The sales team keeps telling you that you can price out items during the design appointment but what they don't tell you is everything is an upgrade. To get the house even remotely updated, you got to spend over $60,000 in upgrades! It's too late when you find that out because you already put down a huge downpayment. I tried to price out everything with the sales team so I knew what I was getting into and I called out exactly what I wanted. The sales team ensured everything I asked for was included in the price. Now comes the shock, when you go into the design center you are told everything was basically priced out at base price like cheap kitchen cabinets and vinyl peel and stick flooring etc. I can go on and on. You're given a 1 year warranty on most work since it's a new house and things can go wrong which is understandable. I'm not mad at things going wrong because I've had plumbing issues, lock issues, and other minor things come up but they are NOT responsive. They can take weeks to get back to you, let alone send someone out to fix the issue. My sink wasn't working and they took about 2 weeks to send someone out. All the the people that represent KHov were great to deal with from our sales person Leah, to Kelli in the design center through Steve and Jacob our construction managers. Updates were provided as promised and easily understood. Steve was awesome to deal with! Rough carpentry was actually a little better than we expected but we do have some concerns based upon what friends and neighbors told us of problems they experienced a year or two down the road. Time will tell what if any issues we experience. Finish carpentry was nothing spectacular and we feel could have been done better. Paint job was ok but what we didn’t understand was when they said the walls get 2 coats of paint we didn’t realize the 1st coat was actually what they considered the primer coat. Warranty has been very responsive to the few issues we have had to date and easy to deal with. The steps leading up to the gold key orientation and closing were very disappointing in the presentation of how the house was cleaned and prepared. We were not happy with the cleaning and the cleaning contractors that were used were not good. Anyone purchasing a house should be prepared to spend a good day or 2 cleaning. There was no sparkle! We love the house but for what a family pays for one of these homes the new owners should expect and receive a home that shines from bottom to top. ... More

The home was completed on time even in theses chaotic times.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. There were a few bumps and hick-ups when using my own mortgage lender as opposed to the one provided. Aside from that, I’m happy here. Thank you.

I was happy they were able to stick with the timeline however it was just an average experience. The foreman for KH was good but the paint and clean up was subpar.

Decent quality houses but worst communication and post-purchase support. No team to help you or answer your question. You need to be fully dependent on the salesperson who will respond at his/her convenience.

The whole team from sales to mortgage and all the builders were very caring and on top of any situation before I could point it out. Everyone made the whole process a lot less stressful. Thank you to everyone involved we will be enjoying our new home for years to come.

From our sales to our warranty service, KHovnanian so far has been great to us. Heather made our decision process and everything in-between a great experience. Honestly, we wanted a different type of design from other builders, but because they lacked customer service, we went back Calloway Trails because of her. Starting with Keith then to Andrew, these project managers/superintendents managed our build and our communication (requests and more) great. Lastly, Julie just isn't a great warranty representative, she is an awesome person that makes us feel comfortable with any questions or concerns we have. ... More

Everyone was so helpful and especially Paula was amazing in every step and process very professional and caring would definitely recommend someone who wants to buy a home here .

Paul and Karen at Khov went out of the way to fulfill my needs/requests. Especially, Paul, the builder who consistently went out of the way to facilitate my questions and answered in a timely fashion. Not only that, he did certain addition based on my needs. He was always available to answer my questions and went over and beyond, to measure my backyard for sod install. If I were to build another house, I will go with Karen, Paul, and KHov; this is the best team to work with and they are very understanding of customer's needs.

They were really friendly, even after moving in I still have a relationship with them, they answer all of my questions, either through call, text, email or even if I just popped into the office.

Our purchase of this home was relatively easy. I appreciated the responsiveness of the sales, building, and title team.

Great customer service but I feel like more attention needs to be put towards quality checks of completed work. I often had to point out things to be corrected that I felt the construction supervisor should have identified and corrected even before I had to mention it.

We had a very honest and helpful agent which led us into purchasing this property. The closing and walk thru of this home was/is a nightmare. The mortgage team was deceptive and not there to help the buyer, we were promised a deal and had to argue and lost regardless of the evidence provided regarding his mistake. The superintendent wanted to argue major architectural flaws in the home, stating that regardless of our concerns he "can't and won't change it because of time". It ended up being done! After we closed, we have had a variety of issues with the home, such as a sink leak where the customer service representative refused until forced, to remove the dishwasher where the wall was notibly wet, because he assured us it was dry. Trying to have that properly addressed was a nightmare, having the wrong appliances installed was highly ranked up there with still no resolve. So, no we would never do it again. The craftsmanship is thd lowest I have ever seen and if things were monitored as our house was built than the buyer wouldn't have remorse moving into their finished product. ... More
