In general, it was a good experience, an efficient process. The overall finishes of the house are good, and the promptness in responding to warranty requests has been timely.

The garages are compact so take that into account. Insist on reviewing ALL terms and conditions (including the HOA guidelines) before you start the purchase. Don't be afraid to inquire about the overall site plan and schedule for the various phases of the community. But overall I am satisfied with the quality of our home constructed by K. Hovnanian. As a first time home buyer I learned a lot and the construction manager did a great job educating and informing me throughout the build process.

Our sales agent Craig was wonderful! Very kind, nice and attentive to our questions which made the experience very pleasurable.

Overall, it has been a very positive experience. Our needs were addressed in a timely manner. The sales staff have been helpful.

Overall, things seem okay as we begin to live in our home. I see quality issues on on some things such as fencing, the shape our grass was in when we moved in (dead), and the wash out of the dirt in our yard after a big storm that wasn't replaced before putting in the grass. Unhappy with the fact that the bathrooms don't have a medicine cabinet or towel holders. Something new homeowners shouldn't have to worry about installing or ordering. After moving in and starting to put away things in the kitchen cabinets, I noticed they are not normal sized cabinets as far as width. I cook a lot and I have no space for my larger pots and pans. It's a problem. And lastly, there are no cabinets in the laundry room. One set above the washer would be relatively inexpensive, but be very beneficial to homeowners to hideaway laundry items. ... Good experience to buy home

We are happy with our finished home; issues after close are not major and are addressed in a timely manner. But it was very stressful getting here. Our home was 3.5 months late, requiring that we find interim lodging and two moves, costing us over $10K. Our house closed on the last day that our rate lock( that we paid to get) was good for and we had so many delays that we did not trust that we would close before the rate expired. Also, It took me 2+ months of pleading to get the 12 foot wall that was 5 feet from the window side of my house to be redone with view fencing on the top half, restoring light into our house. These are not custom homes but the construction team would try to help make minor changes when asked, but they are under tight rules from the builder. The builder uses a lot of subcontractors for the various activities (stucco, electrical, cabinets, etc) and the subcontractors were of mixed reliability and quality. The lathe and plaster guys walked, leaving our home open to the rainy weather for 9 weeks…. Hopefully the mold that formed was adequately addressed. ... More

The houses are beautiful and the place is very nice, the neighbors are beautiful people too.

We enjoyed working with K. Hovnannian. It was unfortunate that the market drove up the price, but we are happy with what we have compared to other builders who were way more expensive. We would have liked if they would have allowed us to make minor adjustments and inclusions to the home at our expense but they didn’t. Any issues or problems they fix immediately. We really appreciated the weekly updates from Josh our builder, he did an excellent job of keeping us informed of every step in the building process. Also, our contact at K. Feel that the construction superintendent and his staff are rushed by the bean counters at corporate to close prematurely before the home is completed. Start up is slow, took about 3 months after signing to break ground, then things move along at a steady pace. Towards the end, everything seems rushed, builder had to change original closing date because of material issues. Day of closing the builder is still scrambling to finish the home. Neighbors that closed close to our date got the same line, if the city approved a certificate of occupancy, builder closed, no mater if the house was finished or what. May be legal, but not ethical. Beware and stand your ground, don't close if you are not satisfied at final walk through. ... More

I had a great experience with khov construction and home warranty. Craig and Matt were so nice and would always go the extra mile to help customers. Everett from the home warranty was also a gem. My experience with the sales office was good at times, but I found my sales point of contact to not be fully trustworthy. My realtor and I had to follow up to get responses and the poc often said he wouldn’t bring our requests to management since he knew they would say no. I would say your experience depends on who have as your pocs. If you find a way to contact khov construction on your needs, I think you’d have a better experience. ... More

I would buy from KHov again.

Good experience overall. Closing date was changed twice. Only one issue. Bedroom suite door would stick. Original service date to correct was moved after service did not show up on the scheduled date.

In terms of communication, Mr. Aaron always was willing to explain with details and response any questions and always very fast. In terms of construction, I guess the walk-through is not enough to see any issues, you will find scratches in mirrors, stains on the floors that you have to scratch and clean over and over, bumps under the carpet, things that you actually notice when you live in the house and start cleaning, sweeping, etc. Overall, it was ok, not a WOW for me.

Overall KHov was responsive and provides a good product. Attention to detail for a new home needs to be improved by their subcontractors, but in most cases they respond in a timely manner. As in any home buying situation stay engaged and document any issues. The important thing is that they will make it right when something does happen. We love the house and thank the team for the final product.

Easy process, friendly environment and respectful people, and quality work.

Overall, I had a pretty good experience with the whole building process.. There were some issues along the way.. Primarily communication regarding status updates and repairs.. I’m assuming due to job turnover… However, I just wanted to take a moment to recognize my loan processor, Ben B. He has been the best part of the entire building experience.. I say this because he was always prompt in informing me of any changes, he was always honest with me with good news or bad news (that awful interest rate spike), and he was always available to answer questions or explain terms I didn’t fully understand. He kept in contact with me every step of the way, and again helped me understand the how or why behind the decisions I needed to make financially. It is also very obvious that he stays privy to all areas of the process as there were several times I heard about construction delays or problems from him first.. Days in advance before hearing from the construction/sales coordinators.. Ben understood that communication was the most important aspect to me throughout the home buying process- as I could absolutely understand delays and hiccups that were inevitably going to occur- so long as those delays were communicated to me. Ben did a phenomenal job from start to finish, and I want to wholeheartedly thank him for his hard work and efforts that made buying a home with K. Hov a happy experience. Bill was very informative and helpful. The questions he could not answer, he got back to me right away with a bountiful of information. He was honest, and candid about how Hovnanian operates, what was in scope or not but always went back to the team with our requests. This was one of my better experiences while shopping for a new home.

Matthew and Buddy are very honest and trustworthy. Two very easy people to do business with.

We recently purchased a home in Roseville. Our community, Firefly is non HOA and neighbors are friendly. Our builder’s agent Tracee and construction manager were awesome and responded promptly to questions or concerns and gave us updates as needed. I just wish that a patio came with it but that is an upgrade! Our house came with some upgrades and kitchen looks fabulous. It is a smart home and would have been helpful to get more specifics on this. We are, however, disappointed KH warrant service department. We requested assistance with. a few things and only received emails that a manager would contact us. So far no one has called or responded. There was a broken piece on the fence before we moved in and that is not fixed yet. Also fence paint job by the subcontractor is awful. We will need to fix that.
