Overall the experience was great from the salesman to the KHOV account management. The only issue I have is the finishing details were rushed.

This is my first time buying an inventory home. I was sad that since it was fully built I could not go back and add or change out for things I wanted. Over all the home is well build. Builder is responsive to service call within the first month of moving in.

My wife and I had a great buying experience and found a great deal on the model home. Sale went smoothly but then we started to find all the poor quality materials in the house causing minor problems which we are now replacing/fixing. Replacing toilets, towel bars, floors are squeaking all throughout the house and have to run electric to the wet bar that has a mini fridge but no plug to power it under the bar.

On the sales side Nate was amazing! He was my go to throughout the whole ordeal. If ever there were questions, answered or did whatever in his power to find the answer. My family’s experience with The finance side would be rated 3 stars maybe less. There was a time we went 6 days without hearing anything back. Just because my family and I had a challenging file shouldn’t make us any less worthy of getting responded to in a timely fashion. I will say this. We truly appreciate Melissa for going above and beyond in getting us an approval. She helped to make our dreams come true. Whenever she had questions or a request for us, we got whatever she asked for within hours. On the other hand, when we had questions as far as wanting updates on the process, we’d at times wait anywhere from 24 hours to 72 hours. We were never told “hey you won’t hear from me in a couple days until (whatever reason). We were constantly left guessing. All of this while our lease was it March 1. Open until the week of closing we were in limbo and in the dark about the status of our loan. So you can imagine our frustration when we have to go to the sales rep to ask him to call Melissa for updates at times. What is it is a great person and was never rude to us. I’d say that that communication just needs to be better. John the builder was good and very helpful at the start of the process. I just wish he followed through to make sure everything was complete before we closed on our home. The cleaning person left a card saying the house was clean. That was not the case. We got our keys and opened the door for the first time expecting to see the perfection that John said would be there. The floors had white shoe prints all over it as if workers were doing stuff around the house and they never got back around to cleaning up the floor. This was weeks before the stay at home order. I informed John and he said that he would have someone come bye and clean the house. That never happened. John was very helpful in getting our air ducks looked at when the At&t technician spotted that one was loose. John was always good about responding to our texts within 24hours and that’s appreciated. I just wish there were consistent actions behind the responses (before the stay at home, order). The sheet rock people had us on the schedule but had to push back due to the coronavirus. That’s totally understandable. We have two lights that’s not fully attached to the ceiling and we’re nervous about them falling. We were told that we’d have to wait until the Coronavirus pandemic passes by. I totally get that, but the reason I mention it is because this was pointed out during the first walk through and again at the second walk through. It was suppose to be taken care of before we moved in. Now we’re in fear of the light falling on one of our children. Besides those mishaps that might have been out of John’s hands, we’ve had our overall good experience with you guys. I’m just a strong believer that companies can’t get better unless consumers are honest on these customer reviews. Needless to say, I hope no one gets in trouble behind this, but I hope there’s some type of training or education that comes after this, So that the next customer has nothing but great things to say about the KHavnanian experience. They are older and not as patient as I am, so I’m hoping these issues are fixed before they decide to buy a home with you guys. ... More

Overall good. Just had issue with what I thought I was getting, and it ended up being totally different. The issue was resolved but only because we were consistent in what we expected.

Poor paint job throughout. Some windows don’t lock or even close without massive drafts. Tons and tons of nail pops that it is embarrassing to invite people over. Terrible toilet handles. The washers that hold the handles in place come loose weekly and I feel like a plumber/handyman. At least we are all home bound for another month. Great more problems and cannot get them fixed until our 11th month.

Love the home. Beautiful modern design even though a little expensive for the area. Service has been good in general to issues after I moved in but builder is unwilling to address issues with sod as its not covered by warranty. Bough my last house from Toll Brothers and they changed half the sod in my lawn as it became a little yellow. Expected more from K Hovnanian as I paid twice as much for this home.

The key to Westwood is Brandi in sales. The weak point in Westwood is Brent in the building process. Brandi sets just a great platform for Khov and tries to maintain the balance and clean up brent’s messes. He needs to be retrained, take a time management class or be able to do what he says he will, when he says, which is few and far in between. Nice guy, but not trustworthy and gives homeowners an uneasy feeling when making the biggest purchase of their life. Please fix the issue and try to resolve at the lowest level. Brandi works too hard in Westwood to be destroyed by Brent’s actions.

As a whole, we were satisfied with the process. It seemed that if anything’s was asked for that didn’t fit in the box as is, it was way too much to discuss. Repair items that I mentioned were not only belittled but mostly unaddressed.

The KHOV process was made as smooth for us as possible, and we love our home. We had the builder Tim, the sales associate Saul, and the loan advisor Mrs. Mason work with us throughout the whole process, and they went above and beyond to ensure we received our home promptly. I would say that we were given a lot of incentives that we used towards our home upgrades and have enjoyed the benefit of being the first member of the community to live here in KHOV Fowler. There were a few difficult times with communication, as some plans went on ahead without our approval from higher up. The home designer was an issue as there was minimal communication from her. However, we managed to work past it. There are a few items we wished KHOV would have honored, such as allowing us to put in our wood floors, putting in our sprinkler system, adding our sod instead of the standard bark, changing the colors of the house, or putting in our own purchased carpet, but every housing community is different. We advise that during the gold key walkthrough that you take your time observing any fixes looking at every corner, under every shelf, and asking questions about anything, you seem unsure. Bring someone with you who is knowledgable about building homes. Like I mentioned before, turn to someone knowledgeable about homes and upgrades as sometimes it might be cheaper to buy things at Lowes than to get the top upgrades from the home designer. Rest assured, though, that the people who helped us with our process were very knowledgeable and would not allow anything to go wrong because they genuinely cared about our satisfaction. Overall a good build. Had some issues with the wiring lights in living room but KH was quick to repair. Also had my heater go out in the first month for unknown reasons.

We had a rough start with the planning of our home. The wrong design was submitted, and we weren’t told about the siding color restrictions. Ultimately everything was corrected and we are very satisfied.

If it wasn’t for the new construction manager James this would be a 1-2 star rating for all. James has gone above and beyond to make this process smooth. When we moved in multiple things were done wrong and the workmen ship was below par. There were things forgotten that we paid for. But James has been extremely understanding responsive and reactive to the situation. James should be highly appreciated in the company and be compensated for his hard work. He understands customer service and drive for getting the job done correctly.

Nesha and Mathew were fantastic to work with, very attentive, responsive and understanding when issue arose. In fact all the people I had the opportunity to interact with have been extremely professional, friendly and attentive.

For the most part, I am very satisfied with my new K Hovnanian home. There has been multiple changes with the construction supervisor during the building process. I moved into my home the beginning of November and have still not been contacted regarding my 30 day “list of concerns “. This may be due to yet another change in personnel and the ball was dropped. My construction supervisors were great to work with as the house was built but now I am not sure how to resolve the current issues with my home. I have already spent my own money fixing a sump pump that would not turn off, a garage door that literally jumped off the track (the contact info for the installer was indicated on a sticker), they would not return my phone call. When we bought the house, we were aware that the flooring was not of the highest quality, but we were okay with that trade-off. However, we encountered a couple of issues that were disappointing. When attempting to mount a TV upstairs, we discovered that the studs are spaced every 2 feet on interior non-load bearing walls, which made the process more challenging than expected. Additionally, the glass on the patio door was scratched, and we have been waiting for a replacement for almost three months now.

The quality of some items in the house can be better. The wood look tile is uneven in some areas, causing our feet to catch. This should have been done right. Overall the home is fair. We do love the floor plan and neighborhood. Just some things in the home that could have been done right and/or better.

After being in my new home for a few months, I am really noticing the poor quality of the finishing process. The final paint jobs, both interior and exterior, are not great and will have to be redone sooner than expected for new home. For an over 55 community there is a surprising lack of standard items which I would have expected-such as hand rails in the bathrooms and hand rails on outside porch steps on all models. Some options are available for extra cost at time of construction, but others have to be installed separately by the owner. I know these are mass produced houses, not custom homes, but if KHof is going to build for an older demographic, some items should be included as a matter of course. I get the impression that is it's not required by the specific state law, then it will not be offered. ... More

Karen was very responsive to all issues raised.

The design and location of the home are excellent, just what we wanted. The building experience was limited in terms of choices and there was little flexibility about anything--We couldn't even ask them to leave something out if we didn't want it, we just had to remove it later ourselves. The workmanship seems to be good generally, although the drywall and painting finish work was OK at best. The builder does respond quickly to problems after the sale.

Too soon to evaluate the quality of materials. Only been here three months. We are concerned that much of the structure of the latest building being built needed to be torn down and is scheduled to be redone.

The sales process was handled by Russell very well with weekly photos of the building progress. The closing process went OK. The Builder did not have the county permit on the day we closed therefore we could not get our keys to our new home. The Builder also failed to provide proper documentation to the Post Office to validate all the new addresses at this location. We are still having problems with companies unable to update our new address in their systems. Our address is NOT in the US Postal Service data base. The condo is what we expected. I have had one major issue with the house and the warranty executive was dismissive and unhelpful. Luckily the construction team took my problem seriously and fixed the issue, I.e. no insulation in the house! I’m concerned about working with warranty again as the representative was disrespectful. Other than that, I’m happy with the house and the sales department was very good.
