People involved with the sale were great.

Homes are built poor quality and im still having issues getting things fixed after 4 months of living in our brand new home other problems are also coming up but im choosing to fix them myself since its easier then waiting weeks for them to fix things

For the price of the home. We expected the finished job to be of great quality, but it has not been. There have been one issue after another. The site manager Catricia has been great getting some things fixed, but this could have all been avoided if the workers took pride in their work. The loft floor is still a problem. The floor is noisy as if it is not in place. This is not acceptable for this type of house.

Noticed lots of imperfections. Sub contractors need not rush and project managers need to keep close eye before signing off. We found lots of issue. Very basic but important ones. Would NOT recommend K.Hovnanian homes to anyone. Sorry!!!

I have been unable to get my air conditioning to work properly.been in touch with warranty dept .they have been really helpful .but also unable to get my air conditioning problem resolved.

This is my first home and I must say I was excited about it until I moved in and started noticing the materials they used.. The material are not good quality. They used cheap materials and just paint it and make it look good. My front door is already falling apart and some of the locks are are broken already. One thing for sure I DO NOT trust KH anymore. I’m telling you now K. Hovnanian® Homes! will NOT get a referral from me not until I get pay for my Frist referral. I referred a friend and I was supposed to get a referral compensation but instead they decided to give it to her agent. First thing it wasn’t her agent that referred her to KH it was me so why would they give her my compensation to the agent? ... More

Appliances are not of the quality expected and not following latest model for kitchen. I’m just 1 month into the new home and There are lot of issues coming up as we go. Feels like buying a new home is more exhausting than buying a used one. Sales agent was very helpful but there is no model home to look and decide on the features. Inspections are not great, my home has wiring on wrong side of the building and is fixed by just drilling a hole into siding and the wall, which is not a good way of fixing.

Nick was our sales rep and he was amazing no complaints there very up front, keeps you updated with pictures and txt through the whole building process. However , the real issues are when it’s all done. You are scheduled to do an inspection and get things that need to be fixed addressed before closing and that does not happen at all. Lots of paint issues , had a huge concrete hole in the garage , cabinets have the corned messed up and they don’t know how to lay down caulk correctly what so ever. When the caulking issues was addressed I was told the following “ I need to lower my expectations because these houses are built for the common people that have no idea how construction works and I needed to inspect things from a 6ft distance to which if it looks good then than their is no issue with it”. This was their head builder in charge by the way. Grass was laid like crap, my whole backyard and front yard is not even leveled nicely like the Trophy houses in the community. Paint material used is of very poor quality that just touching it makes it go from white to grey (discoloration). They used a flat tone instead of a gloss paint. The texture in one of my bedroom’s ceiling is awful with poor taping and texture lines visible even at 6ft away! Fence around the property is so uneven and you can see many spots were they Didn’t nail it on to the support because the nails are fully exposed. ... More

The initial home buying experience was good. Our salesperson (Lisa) was great. She sent us updates constantly, answered questions (many times on her days off). The financing phase was great too. Jodi was a pleasure to work with and made the process easy. Our issue was the building, multiple issues needing attention and the difficulty in getting them taken care of. We closed on the home (although we should have told them we weren't closing until all issues were resolved) and it took over a month to finally get everything done we were told would be addressed before we closed or (worst case) on the day we closed. It took MANY texts, phone calls and photos of problems to get everything FINALLY taken care of. Lesson learned: If you buy a KHOV home (or any home for that matter) don't close until ALL issues have been resolved. They will definitely be more motivated to take care of you if you are holding up the closing. ... More

Quality of workmanship is so poor, you can tell they did everything so quick or in hurry that they do not care what the outcome or quality is. The sad part is, if, you make a request for them to fix any issues, it takes forever. Forever is not an overexageration, as a matter of fact up until now my issues them are not fixed yet, countless follow ups and they do not care! All they want is to hand off the key to you and whatever issues you found prior, is full of promises. We will do this and do that.... if you do purchase a home with them, make sure you have them fix your issues prior to finalizing everything or else, like me I have to constatly request for them to fix making you the one asking them for favors, were it should hVe been their responsibility from the beginning, if only they did right. ... Neighborhood is not properly represented when buying the home. The lakes are dry and there is no fountains.. was told that our lot was capable of having a swimming pool. This is not true .. it clearly states on the septic survey in bright red no pool. Even the septic people state they have made you aware of this but the sales person assured us that our lot was cleared for a pool. How can you build homes on a half acre lot .. that can’t have a pool!! No a very good marketing plan.houses look nice but are lacking in quality in craftsmanship and materials used.. The best part was working with our loan officer. THATS IT! Quality is horrible! On our final walk in someone smart turn on AC on 100!!! F I think they thought paint, last touch ups will dry faster but it had opposite effect….. Interior doors were SO horrible, corners smashed, paint peeling off, if the piece fell of from the door they just sand it and painted on top, what apparently doesn’t make it look better. CHEAP OT AS MUCH AS THEY CAN. There is a big list but they always will find an answer like “that’s totally fine, it should be like that” (when raining and water just leaking through windows, not all of them!!!so that’s normal for them ) Would I recommend the builder for someone NO. These houses and the craftsmanship are mediocre at best. They are thrown up and sloppy. I’m sure after moving in and how cheap the materials are and thrown together that it is like fast food processing at $400k plus.

While living here for three months we have had various home issues come up that have caused concerns. We have experienced random tiny holes in the walls, cracks all over the house, and a big line of paint coming off the wall near the vents. Has been a lot more work for a new home than expected.

Plumbing for washer dryer install with something stuck in the pipes, so washer flooded the floors and had to be replace after the first wash. Moisture control came n drive up electric bill by having their fans on24/7 for 5 days. Nails sticking out on staircase poking my daughters feet. Electric outlet were poorly install, you can see the cut in the wall. Bathroom fans was not working properly and had to be fix. Overall production is poor. Quality built was overlook and ignore. Seems like they rush to get this house built. I wish there was a return policy on houses. I would not recommend this builder. Only good side is one of the site supervisor was very responsive and got things fix. But I rather not go through the trouble again or ever. I moved in 3 months ago, my kitchen sink that I picked out is still not in. My drip system is still full of dirt. My counter top was bowed, they replaced my counter top with another one that is also bowed. At this point can I just have granite counters as a "sorry you paid over $430,000 3 months ago and haven't got what you paid for!"

Overall a good home/well built but it’s the small details and warranty work that has been absolutely horrible. I’ve been in my house for almost 6 weeks and yet to enjoy it. The tile grout in majority of the house was installed wrong/has a haze to it and they’ve attempted to correct the issue 3 times. They are on there 4 time coming out and hopefully this works. Just be aware of the small details and make sure everything is done before moving in and closing.

The material used for this home is very cheap. Also, you cannot upgrade anything with this builder. There are so many things that are missing in the home. I would never buy a house from this builder.

We have been prompted to submit various reviews of our experience with k hov. Please refer to the many reviews already provided where we have had the worst experiences with k hov and the condition of our home.

Starting with the sales experience Sabrina was great. Dustin and Todd were great throughout the walk-through and follow-up. The financing was horrible and I wish we had another options but we needed the builder's incentives for the lower interest rate at the time we purchased. Rob was terrible with communication and made the entire situation very stressful. After we closed we got a letter from another lender with our mortgage statement without anyone telling us our mortgage had been transferred from the builder's financing company to another company. If you choose to buy from K. Hovnanian and use their finance be prepared for great stress and a lack of communication and follow-up. I had to contact my agent multiple time to find out what was even happening. Even the closing agent, Heidi, another K. Hovnanian employee called me to find out about closing because she didn't get the information from the finance team. So even internally their communication is lacking and needs obvious improvement. ... More

The negative side of my experience is the house I really wanted had an appraisal issue and I had to select another property. This property was not completed, so my family had to spend three extra weeks in a hotel! Once we moved in, we fell in love with our house! I love the finished product. The kitchen is awesome, and everyone has their own space.

It took nearly 8 months to be able to close on the house and while we are happy to be finally moved in the process was very stressful. Our account manager was very disconnected but the loan processors were good and empathetic and got us through the finish line. Once in the house the project manager has been excellent in taking care of small items to ensure things are fixed.

Good home, well built, only problem we had was in the time it took to build it - three months longer than anticipated

I love the house, but the fact that it doesn’t come with grass in the backyard it’s a little of a downside, other than that and the closing time waiting period was good.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. There were a few bumps and hick-ups when using my own mortgage lender as opposed to the one provided. Aside from that, I’m happy here. Thank you.
