So the staff determined that my first review had to be redone because I named directly who was the problem. Well how else can you fix the problem if you can’t identify it? Let’s just say we are extremely happy with the house, but completely unhappy with the loan process. The financing process. The unnecessary stress process from there person handling the finances. I hope this is better and complies with your restrictions.

The buying process was stressful with loan office, the house was promised for November of 2024 and was deliver February 2025, builder's team was very professional and courteous, they did what they say they would do to an extend, the garage was the worth garage I have seen for a new home, the builder's team respond in timely atter to all our request, for potential buyers is that the houses are very nice looking but on you walkthrough make sure to point all the defects.

There were many positive elements of working with this group. In particular I loved getting weekly photos of the progress. The people we dealt with were also great and very responsive. On the negative side, after building our house, two months later an almost identical Spec model (same model, almost identical features) was sold two houses away for $80K less. We would have bought that home had we known about it. It was disappointing and still stings.

Pros: It was a pretty smooth process as the build was already taking place when we acquired the property. They worked with us in changing the floor coloring when the original floors were delayed by weeks. They also have been amazing with helping us resolve issues with the home that comes with every new build. Our project a manager, Alex, was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work alongside of us. Cons: We were not able to adjust any colors due to the build pressure being developed even thought it was only at the framing stage. Also the build was left on the MLS and dropped 10k after we signed out papers. We asked for our agreement to be changed to represent that 10k decrease in price and the sales/realtor person for K. Hovan homes refused to do so. He blamed it on someone at cooperate. However, when I called cooperate about this they explained to me that it is up to the realtor of that area to remove properties from the MLS and we should be able to have our agreement altered. The relator still refused to do so. He also had stated when we looked at the model home he would be able to cover closing cost and this was NOT something the did. He only gave 3k towards closing cost and the finance company could not understand how we had to do our home, since we still owned our previous home and was doing a land contract agreement for it. Buying experience would have been better if not for Khovnanian's insurance. They did not notify us that we were not approved for insurance until after closing!! Totally unprofessional as we could have gone to another insurance prior to close. It was stressful knowing that we closed on our house but not insured. Horrible!! Heads should roll in the insurance department.

Difficult to get an accurate date for townhome to be completed. Unit is very well built structurally, layout is great. The finish work inside is average. Air conditioning unit wired incorrectly, many interior paint issues, all doors need to be worked. There are additional items. Working with warranty team. They are very responsive. Trades should take more pride in their workmanship.

The overall experience of buying our house was awesome . The staff was very professional and personable . They definitely listened to what our needs were.

Khovnanian builds a home that is very good with regard to the basics, space, floor plan options, however need to be more flexible with working with buyers on upgrades, especially when the buyer is willing to pay for them.

Constant delays and unreliable time lines. Finally got the keys 2 months after we were supposed to close. Inspections and walk thrus were rescheduled 4-5 different times where we had to rearrange our lives to make it convenient for the builder. Very disappointed in the homebuying process.

Started the process of buying this house in July 2020 did not settle until November 2021. The global pandemic along with supply chain and labor issues were significant factors for our late close. Our initial superintendent left the company and our house was neglected and not worked on for months as homes around ours were completed and closing. We traveled to Delaware every weekend to address these issues as other homes around us began to close rapidly. Shoddy foundation and interior finish work held up our close as we refused to settle until major issues were fixed. If we had not been proactive with our house, it would probably not be finished today. Stay on top of your superintendent and his boss to complete your home .Our advice is to address all issues and refuse to settle until your home is completely acceptable to you. Hire an outside inspector prior to settlement who can help uncover any issues that need to be addressed. Do not get pressured into settling on your home until it is perfect - you will then get in line with all the other homeowners in this development who are waiting to have their punch lists completed. ... Sales agent was fantastic. Builder was very difficult to work with and very rude.

Love my new home. Only thing wrong that I came across was that the color of my house wasn't what I chose, which is upsetting. Also they never showed me proof of what I chose in the 1st place. My guess is the sales person put in my information wrong. So I'm stuck with what I have. Otherwise the house is up to what I expected it to be. Closing and getting everything together wasn't fun. No communication whatsoever until the very last minute, which as a 1st time homebuyer I thought was a nightmare. Would I buy from them again, yes I would. Here are some big criticisms from our build: How disrespectful the contractors are about using the toilets when working in the house… How disappointed we were with the amount of trash and debris was in the yard and house during the build The house was not adequately cleaned when we took possession of the house… really sad Really sad that the materials, lighting, fans… how cheap they are. Mass ordered and look cheap The brilliant home package is very disappointing. They haven’t even completed our house install yet

Very responsive when Inquires was send it, disappointed regarding the multiple delays. But my overall experience was satisfactory

The experience overall was good. However we did run into several delays, and communication could’ve been a little better.

The lines of communication were lacking during the build. Many upgrades that a typical person would like were not options. Once the process started there were no changes allowed. Once the house was completed the yard was never graded and remained a mess for months. This builder doesn’t help with the outside at all, even though they tell you they will. After moving in, there are design flaws with kitchen storage and electrical outlets in the master bath and the basement.

My experience in general is not than bad. My best experience is with the sales team, they are incredible awesome. The only bad taste that I have is after I moved. The construction workers are not nice at all. They have destroyed the grass of the house , they continuously blocked my driveway, they is a lot of mud on the road etc. Also my water meter apparently was broken and nobody told me that so my first water utility bill is around $300 dollars. There is too many bad things happening at night. Due to the kind of World we are living now, I would suggest to start building new development as Gated Community ... More

Overall experience was great. They were honest, quick to respond, and very helpful. There were many things that needed to fixed after we moved in. We still continue to find things that are wrong with our home and it seemed like they rushed to build the house and made many errors. As far as fixing the errors they do an excellent job to make sure everything is how you want it.

Quality of homes is good. Excited to build memories.

Great people, OK product and bad workmanship.

Let me start off by saying the sales process in the beginning was fantastic. K. Hov had a fantastic sales representative that really took care of us and made us feel like part of the family. The whole process was great. We got to see our house every step of the way being built. They let us walk through whenever we wanted with very short notice. It was very transparent very the day we went to look at our dream house/lot. At the end of the process is when it became a real show. Our closing was delayed due to permitting issues with the city. We finally got to sign, almost a month after our original move in date to only find out an easement was added to our back yard which only allows us to use 50% of the back yard because of drainage concerns and incorrect grading by K. Hov on the lot. One week into our new home, the entire finished basement flooded with community sewage. It was found by the city that a builder had blocked the main sewer line with concrete and construction debris. Again, K. Hov quality control person was very responsive and worked through the pandemic very well to keep us updated with when they were coming to repair the basement damage. They sent someone out to clean within a couple hours, the plumber was contacted within an hour and the city showed up within ten minutes of the flood. The employees of K. Hov definitely deserve better management from the top. When I contacted K. Hov president to express my displeasure, he didn't seem to care. He wanted me to go through my homeowners insurance when it was clearly their fault. I threatened to sue and he told me to go ahead. Very rude. I expressed my concern about buying our dream home and not being able to use the yard and he said thats something you should have looked into before signing the papers. The employees should go work for a company who cares. We have been fighting with the builder and the city now for almost three months to get the drainage issue in the back resolved before the basement ends up flooding again. Salesman was not up front about easement or telephone wires, told me I could fit a pool but quotes from pool companies stated that I couldn’t due to size of easement.

In and of themselves, KHovnanian is an exceptional company to do business with when considering purchasing a newly constructed home. That said, some of the tradesmen outside of the company that are involved in the construction leave quite a bit to be desired. Shoddy work caused us to have to contact Home Services numerous times within the first 6 weeks of moving into our new home which was frustrating. That said, KHov was incredibly responsive and corrected the issues in a timely fashion. We do recommend them as a builder, just watch the outside tradesman like a hawk if possible.

Excellent service, terrible workmanship

Overall bad experience building a new home. The mortgage and title companies they make you use lack severely in communicating with their customer. The sales consultant, design consultant, and construction manager, Sarah, Jocelyn, and Joe, lacked empathy to issues we had and at times could be down right rude. We have been in our house for a little over a month now and are having contractors come pretty much every weekly to fix issues we’re finding. I’m sure this is not uncommon for a newly built home but I feel this whole process could be improved if the customer is allowed to come and visit their home until the day they get their keys.
