Sales manager (Marlene) and construction manager (Keith) were great. A few bumps along the way, but that’s to be expected. The recommended mortgage broker was a NIGHTMARE. Would not recommend him to anyone.

we had a few quality issues, before the purchase our inspector found the roof was incorrectly installed on the back of the house, our living rooms windows all had to be corrected as they were cut unevenly, the interior paint used throughout the house is low quality and flaking off in many places and on the back door. our garage door was improperly installed, broke and came off the tracking damaging the door, we are still waiting for the damaged door panels to be replaced.

While we appreciated our home buying journey, additional guidance tailored for first-time buyers could have enhanced our experience. As newcomers to the process, having more proactive clarifications from the company would be beneficial given the multitude of questions that arise. But we had an overall good experience. The team that was over our walk through were great!!

My first home buying experience not optimal due to lack of consistency with the Sales department and lack of communication/organization within the builder/closing team. It took 1 hour 1/2 to complete my paperwork but the closing lasted 6 hours which was completely unacceptable. We would call the department several times for updates and no one knew anything about my file meaning it had not even been reviewed. The closing team were understanding and thorough- that disorganization was out of their control unfortunately. I worked with New American Funding and my Senior Loan Processor (and his processing team) were trustworthy and overall served a smooth experience. Thanks to the lender, the builder's project specialist, and closing team, my experience was not completely negative however the builder's sales team need to be more knowledgeable and involved with their buyers. ... The sales consultant was amazing . A far as the it took longer to close and it really created issues.

Follow up is key, notifying home buyer, when its time to pick options offered in homes. Missed out on options builder provided, Not designed center. providing materials in a timely manner that came with home. Still waiting on garage doors offered with home. No follow up from builder, when we will receive the doors offered with our plan. Communication is key, with the builder and home buyer. Sales person was great, very friendly, personable. Had some issues after move-in with air condition unit, missing parts, water leak that cause damage to ceiling upstairs bedroom. Builder warranty responded quickly when called to fix the issues. ... Overall a good experience. There were some minor hiccups and misleading details, but not that big of a deal in the end. I feel I got a great home for a great price.

The house itself is great. The project manager Javier is amazing. He is responsive and helpful. The biggest issue is the HOA. They are non responsive. None of us who closed received the documents. I am still waiting to get the finance docs and have asked for almost 2 weeks. They have a $250 fee to put in a request which is ridiculous. Especially since I couldn’t even get the documents. No fence and no grass is part of the sale of the house and it is expensive to put one in and you have to pay the $250 to request it on top of the price of the fence. With no guidance mind you. No internet access. No clue when we will get it. I am happy with the build of the house for the most part. Minor issues that are being taken care of but that is normal. We enjoyed working with John. He made the experience enjoyable, he's knowledgeable, trustworthy and funny. We were disappointed and frustrated with quite of few things. Some people were very disorganized and rushed. Made lots of mistakes and didn't listen very well on the walk through. Its been over a month and we still have m People coming in to fix things.. the supervisor Ricardo is wonderful. Even though he's visiting alot because there are problems. He at least listens and solves it right away. We got our home early but it would of been better to have it done right. So the staff determined that my first review had to be redone because I named directly who was the problem. Well how else can you fix the problem if you can’t identify it? Let’s just say we are extremely happy with the house, but completely unhappy with the loan process. The financing process. The unnecessary stress process from there person handling the finances. I hope this is better and complies with your restrictions.

The buying process was stressful with loan office, the house was promised for November of 2024 and was deliver February 2025, builder's team was very professional and courteous, they did what they say they would do to an extend, the garage was the worth garage I have seen for a new home, the builder's team respond in timely atter to all our request, for potential buyers is that the houses are very nice looking but on you walkthrough make sure to point all the defects.

There were many positive elements of working with this group. In particular I loved getting weekly photos of the progress. The people we dealt with were also great and very responsive. On the negative side, after building our house, two months later an almost identical Spec model (same model, almost identical features) was sold two houses away for $80K less. We would have bought that home had we known about it. It was disappointing and still stings.

Pros: It was a pretty smooth process as the build was already taking place when we acquired the property. They worked with us in changing the floor coloring when the original floors were delayed by weeks. They also have been amazing with helping us resolve issues with the home that comes with every new build. Our project a manager, Alex, was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work alongside of us. Cons: We were not able to adjust any colors due to the build pressure being developed even thought it was only at the framing stage. Also the build was left on the MLS and dropped 10k after we signed out papers. We asked for our agreement to be changed to represent that 10k decrease in price and the sales/realtor person for K. Hovan homes refused to do so. He blamed it on someone at cooperate. However, when I called cooperate about this they explained to me that it is up to the realtor of that area to remove properties from the MLS and we should be able to have our agreement altered. The relator still refused to do so. He also had stated when we looked at the model home he would be able to cover closing cost and this was NOT something the did. He only gave 3k towards closing cost and the finance company could not understand how we had to do our home, since we still owned our previous home and was doing a land contract agreement for it. This resulted in not receiving the additional closing cost discount. They refused to listen to how it had to be done. The build side was fantastic the buying portion was a dread. ... More

Buying experience would have been better if not for Khovnanian's insurance. They did not notify us that we were not approved for insurance until after closing!! Totally unprofessional as we could have gone to another insurance prior to close. It was stressful knowing that we closed on our house but not insured. Horrible!! Heads should roll in the insurance department.

Difficult to get an accurate date for townhome to be completed. Unit is very well built structurally, layout is great. The finish work inside is average. Air conditioning unit wired incorrectly, many interior paint issues, all doors need to be worked. There are additional items. Working with warranty team. They are very responsive. Trades should take more pride in their workmanship.

The overall experience of buying our house was awesome . The staff was very professional and personable . They definitely listened to what our needs were.

Khovnanian builds a home that is very good with regard to the basics, space, floor plan options, however need to be more flexible with working with buyers on upgrades, especially when the buyer is willing to pay for them.

Constant delays and unreliable time lines. Finally got the keys 2 months after we were supposed to close. Inspections and walk thrus were rescheduled 4-5 different times where we had to rearrange our lives to make it convenient for the builder. Very disappointed in the homebuying process.

Started the process of buying this house in July 2020 did not settle until November 2021. The global pandemic along with supply chain and labor issues were significant factors for our late close. Our initial superintendent left the company and our house was neglected and not worked on for months as homes around ours were completed and closing. We traveled to Delaware every weekend to address these issues as other homes around us began to close rapidly. Shoddy foundation and interior finish work held up our close as we refused to settle until major issues were fixed. If we had not been proactive with our house, it would probably not be finished today. Stay on top of your superintendent and his boss to complete your home .Our advice is to address all issues and refuse to settle until your home is completely acceptable to you. Hire an outside inspector prior to settlement who can help uncover any issues that need to be addressed. Do not get pressured into settling on your home until it is perfect - you will then get in line with all the other homeowners in this development who are waiting to have their punch lists completed. ... Sales agent was fantastic. Builder was very difficult to work with and very rude.

Love my new home. Only thing wrong that I came across was that the color of my house wasn't what I chose, which is upsetting. Also they never showed me proof of what I chose in the 1st place. My guess is the sales person put in my information wrong. So I'm stuck with what I have. Otherwise the house is up to what I expected it to be. Closing and getting everything together wasn't fun. No communication whatsoever until the very last minute, which as a 1st time homebuyer I thought was a nightmare. Would I buy from them again, yes I would. As for my experience I would say get all ur paperwork and make sure it matches at the final walk-thru ... More

Here are some big criticisms from our build: How disrespectful the contractors are about using the toilets when working in the house… How disappointed we were with the amount of trash and debris was in the yard and house during the build The house was not adequately cleaned when we took possession of the house… really sad Really sad that the materials, lighting, fans… how cheap they are. Mass ordered and look cheap The brilliant home package is very disappointing. They haven’t even completed our house install yet
