This was out first time owning a home that we had built from the ground up. We picked our various colors, etc. Knowing that this house was to mean a lot to us really made a difference. Now that we are in the house, we love it! Selecting, dealing and negotiating was a big impact on us. The sales individual was wonderful, very kind, generous, customer oriented and was very knowledgeable. Once those wishes were submitted and everything else falls to someone at a desk, the journey was not so pleasant. To draw the customer in was great, its the other individuals who need to work on their people skills, throughout its process. To include understanding, knowledgeable of procedures and just down right being pleasant instead of reacting as if it is their next paycheck. Overall great company for building modern homes, however dissatisfied with the inability to make slight changes to the floor plan, and charging for the 2nd outside garage light was petty. Poor choices on countertops and flooring. Items that should be part of standard are added as upgrades such as normal size toilets, etc. The paint and cleaning were very poor. The house was delayed by a month due to incorrect plans submitted to the city, with no sense of urgency or any offerings of compensation (I paid hotel room an extra month). Other than apologies and it’s only an estimate on delivery, no efforts were done to bring it closer to the due dates. I was surprised at the issues we ran into. Especially the finishes. Painting is really poor. We also had problems with plumbing and lighting. there is a switch in the loft that does not make sense and appears to be a mistake, but it will not be corrected. I continue to find issues.

- The quality of the workmanship and materials used could have been better. - The house is a little overpriced priced for its locations and materials used in the home. - The walls are not well insulated for noise. - The design and layout of the home could be more modern to appeal to younger families. - Responsiveness to reported issues generally has been good.

Pricey, pushy sales people, but great overall product in the end.

The quality of some fixtures and workmanship is poor. We have several issues. Landscaping was a problem!! The loft is a major concern with the AC. I am very poor on your part we can't use it in the summer!! I am sure you are aware of this but there was no attempt to rectified!!

Been waiting for repairs since January. Such a slow process. I wish I was allowed a home inspection prior to closing and repairs done before I closed. I am still waiting to talk to a manager from sales since end of Nov. 2024 I asked 6 people to have one reach out to me. The homes are nice and the financing terms are attractive but when something is wrong its like you are just a pain and no longer exist.

I am pleased with my condo but struggling getting used to that kind of living. My sales person was not in the right job but the fiance people were great and the warranty guy is very helpful. I would only caution to asking detailed questions for complete understanding of expectations. Finishes in condo are standard.

Frustrating small details we didn’t see: Kitchen cabinets not screwed correctly, missing gaps in sealing seams by staircase and bathroom doors, and the door knobs are falling off the upstairs doors. The design and construction are outstanding. Excellent safety features and beautiful small details.

The team was helpful during the early stages, and communication was generally prompt. However, there were some concerns regarding the finish and detailing in certain areas, particularly in the bathrooms. The quality of work and the bathroom floor plans and options did not meet my expectations, with some of the detailing appearing inaccurate or incomplete. Additionally, even though we signed the agreement knowing the plan and options, the paid amount does not seem to match the options provided. After adding $100K in upgrades, the house still doesn’t reflect the luxury look we were aiming for. Cabinets in bathrooms, kitchen are not a good quality materials used. garage doors are also not a great quality. I believe improvements could be made in quality control, attention to detail, and ensuring that the final result matches the investment. I hope these issues can be addressed for future projects, as the team has the potential to deliver a more satisfying experience.” Few options like shower area lights in bathrooms should not be an option to be chosen by the buyer! Furthermore, even after paying millions for the home, we are left with additional work to complete, such as painting in the garage and addressing the landscaping. The front trees, for example, are quite spiky and not what we envisioned. Additionally, we opted for a finished basement, but only half of the area was completed. Many issues with this new home. Electrical issues, craftmanship, you can tell the home build is rushed and no pride is taken by the people completing these homes. Baseboards not pained completly , tile on the floor cut to short and filled with grout. Stucco on house cracked. Perimeter fence very poor quality, exposed nails all over, split boards or boards not even nailed down in places.

Overall, prior to purchasing my home - working with the builder was a good experience. However, it wasn't until I moved in that I found miscellaneous items that should have been fixed prior to me seeing the home. For example, I have spots of white paint on my gray walls - in several different places in my home. Because they are small and towards the celing areas, I didnt notice it during my walk through, Once I moved in - I reported it and was told paint is not under warranty. I am asking for mistakes made to be corrected and I was told no. I encourage the buyers to go through the home with a flash light because there was a lot of sloppiness in the work performed. If you dont catch it prior to closing, it will be a challenge to have it corrected. ... More

Alan our builder has been very responsive to any issues. Unfortunately when we moved in, our master shower had to be redone due creaking noises. Other than that, our door handles have fell out, most of the material used is builder grade so it’s cheap. The workers for Alan don’t pay attention to detail and missed many painting spots in our home, that we had to have touched up. The seller of our home was terrible, would put tasks on other people, unresponsive, and definitely in it for the money only. Nice home now that we have added our own custom finishes and hardware. Good starter home, wouldn’t live here for longer than 5 years due to how close the homes are to neighbors. ... More

Jeff was great in helping us out and go the extra mile but the rest of it was a right . We were told one thing but ten it was something else . . But the whole thing was very good

Condo building is not very senior citizen friendly - garages too narrow, doors to trash & storage rooms & garages are not handicap accessible. Even if you are not handicapped, the narrow garages making getting out of a medium-sized SUV very difficult and doors in common areas are heavy to open, and if you have something in your hands, forget it. Three of my neighbors have had issues in first 90 days with their units as have we. Issues were fixed, but not a pleasant experience.

be careful with walk through

We live in a new development and we currently have a home being built on either side of our brand new house. The people working on the houses have zero concern for the family living in the house next to where they are working, constantly picking up trash around our yard front and back, we have had our cable line destroyed, large chunks cut out of our front yard and a huge area of our side yard has been absolutely destroyed due to the builders not laying the gas line correctly and having to have it all dug up and replaced. When we have reported what is happening nothing is ever done about it.

Quality of materials is not good, distance between plinth and Flor laminate so huge.

Our salesmen Beau was dishonest and told us multiple inaccuracies about of Spec home. Promised a closing date that could not be met and multiple changes to our plans with zero communication. Our builder Jake was the main reason we decided to finalize our purchase. He was upfront with us on the actual timeline for completion. He communicated with us daily when issues arose and ensured we were comfortable with the home. Couldn’t be happier with Jake and Aaron finishing our home.

Not allowed to upgrade, some basics missing such as concealed garbage containers in kitchen, vanity in Masters is poorly designed, line of sight out windows is poor due to design.

Home buying experience was great, however quality of some of the material used especially cabinets etc is below average quality. The team was pretty good in responding to questions and is helping fix and resolve issues under the warranty

The layout and features are decent for the money. You get a radiant barrier in the attic, nice solid doors, and all the drywall corners are nice and rounded. Workmanship and responsiveness to issues leaves a lot to be desired though. For example different brands and colors of switches were used throughout the house. The tile is uneven with paint peeling off the edges. There are doors that have too wide of a gap at the bottom and don't latch. Outdoor grass is lumpy. It's a hassle to get them out to fix these sorts of things too and expect it to take weeks if not months.

believe the design of the homes is excellent, but the workmanship is not up to the standards of the design.

Our building manager forgot all about us the moment he gave us the keys..moved in Sept 2022 and still no grade approval no explanation no follow up.

The good: Let me start off by saying that Matt and Everett are amazing employees for KHOV. They go above and beyond for each homeowner. It is a great pleasure in speaking with them and knowing they care in helping out. Matt drove to the condo on his day off to help me out with getting me into the building so Verizon could install my internet. That is the level of customer support which is extremely appreciated though not an expectation by any means. The bad: This condo was 8 months overdue and KHOV senior management was not helpful one bit. As a customer it was incredibly frustrating to deal with the company who would not release an estimated completion date based on circumstances they were experiencing. I couldn't care less about how delayed it was, I just wanted to stop paying month to month lease prices because the rates were astronomical ($4,000+ per month) and moving 3 times in those 8 months. I would've been perfectly happy had they said its going to be delayed 4+ months. That way I could have signed a 4 month lease somewhere and paid a lot less rather than getting an email that says, "hey it might be done next month, but we don't know" Which is why i was forced to go month to month on leases. I expected them to be more forthcoming with information and provide semi-accurate dates based on where they were at that point in time and based on what was going on at the time. Next up KHOV financing. They were the worst bunch of folks to deal with. Usually financing departments call a month before hand and lock in the interest rate. KHOV financing expects you to call them and hound them for paperwork and locking in rates. They are slow to get back to you and show unnecessary attitude. They are incredibly unorganized and unprofessional. My closing cost jumped by $3000 without explanation, and I found this out the day of closing. The only way I got an explanation was because I called them to get one. What made it worse is that the day before, I was told my closing cost would go down by a couple of hundred. The condo - It looks beautiful and I like living here. However, there were 40 issues with it that I had to get fixed by continuing to call Everett. Apparently they "did not rush" when making this building, yet my condo had 40 issues. Electrical socket was loose, paint was sloppy, they installed cabinet doors that were clearly not drilled in the right places initially, covered up and then the correct handles were put on, cabinets took a beating in shipment or installation because some of mine have visible cracks going all the way down the side.
