The contractors use low quality products to save a buck. This has proven to cause several problems and continues to cause more. The quality of doors are subpar, electrical outlets, switches are being swapped out as well. The trim crew through things together and doesn't match up seems etc. The doors have flaws and are never installed evenly so they look twisted etc. Even the yard has issues and I've been trying for 2 months to get it corrected. If I could do it again I wouldn't buy from them but I'm I did so ill keep pushing to get things corrected best I can.

Sales – Experience had been good, but it could have been better. We requested for few must have items to be included and not to provide everything in white but none of these were considered. Now it has become impossible to keep those white cabinets and countertop clean and white and we are spending almost 2 hours every week. Bathroom fixtures are mismatching with faucet chrome and light black finish. Fans and daylight LED discs were not added so now we’ll have to spend thousands (4 times of original cost) on installing them and existing light fixtures will go in waste. We paid the highest for this model but didn’t get what we were expecting. Selection of bricks, island, countertop, cabinets, bathroom fixtures is poor and didn’t think through while selecting. Construction – Lot of things were done in a rush, paint, doors, floor, kitchen tiles and electrical outlets. Doors are making creaking sound already. Vinyl floor seems uneven and making noises at some places when we walk over. Before GKO we pointed out some issues, but construction didn’t take care of all those items. Doors are very quality and rough edges. Now we are spending several hours every week to call Warranty team and then again spending time to make sure those are fixed properly. There are few items which can’t be fixed now or will take lot of efforts to fix. Mortgage – Experience was frustrating and not transparent. Even with the best credit and excellent history we were imposed the highest possible mortgage rate. Still not sure why there was a charge for rate buy when the rate applied was already way higher than the market rate. Looks like having a good credit became disadvantage for us. ... More

The home I have is OK but not great. The home buying experience is disorganized and not well managed. It seems knob is a co!election of units not in any cohesive. Fixing what comes after the sale is a lot of excuses for not doing things like calking or uneven heating. I could do a better job than current management and I am a retired engineer.

Quality of maters and workmanship is below my expectations.

I had bought a home in Scottsdale heights phase with good experience. The decided to purchase another home in phase 2. Great disappointment this time around with quality workmanship of tiling, drywall, painting, all sloppy work!!! Yes, of course warranty department stepped in, however, consumed much of my time for miscellaneous vendors to come to do repairs. Plus we have to fight for the repairs, because their vendors including tile, drywall, stucco, noisy a/c unit, kitchen cabinets, and endless list of repairs…they all seem to have one statement the quality is within normal. I had an issue with water break and couldn’t o cult home for 2-3 weeks this is all after 2 weeks of closing Expected khov to ribose me with reimbursement for having to extend my lease by two Months still Not even one phone call

I don’t believe the contractors involved in the building of my home paid attention to detail. Their work showed lack of respect to their trade. After almost three months, we still have items that are being addressed. We had to move in before the high impact windows were installed even though this was an original design of my house. Some of the materials used in building my house seem inferior to a house of this price.

Love the neighborhood and plan. The sales folks did a good job. The after-sales team has been great.. which is good as there have been a number of issues. The building process itself was the issue. There was a consistent lack of quality. The builder was willing not only to cover up but to lie. Insulation was missing from the wall and ceiling. A water leak at the main was "from rain" six weeks earlier... though no other house had that "rain". Those are just 2 examples of a difficult process. Thankfully, K. Hovaninan IS addressing these issues slowly, but, with honest and quality supervision, there would be fewer issues to address and K. Hovnanian would have earned more stars. The project manager started off promising the world and telling us that the issues we had read about on-line about their quality and service were already corrected. Lie lie lie!!!! The house took an extra three months to “complete” after their projection. Normally it wouldn’t have been such a big deal but we couldn’t lock in on an interest rate until 30 days prior to majority completion. The company didn’t seem in any hurry considering their company was also the lender and ended up benefiting from a higher interest rate. This was at the beginning of 2023 when the Feds kept raising the rates. After closing we didn’t move in another 2.5 months thinking it would give the company enough time to finish their punch list. Haha, shame on us. DO NOT sign off on their punch list until everything has been completed or you will never see it done. All of my neighbors that bought Kahov homes before us have told us that they just gave up and did the repairs themselves. I am sitting in our home right now staring at the uneven double doors, caulking and grout job that looks like they applied it like toothpaste, paint all over the floors, fixtures and no touch up paint for the cabinetry that looked like they were in a hurry to install and get out of dodge. The tile flooring are uneven in the bathrooms and the tile shower has several spots where they didn’t remove the blue tape before applying the clear caulking. They didn’t turn on the hot water to the soak tub before they closed in the plumbing. They left popped up nails under the carpet that we constantly step on with bare feet (upstairs in the hallway). The last thing that I can think of right off the top of my head is they never came back and installed the second story dryer vent cover which is less than 12 inches from our actual dryer. No residual damages that we can tell, yet. It would be nice for a builder to do the right thing with a brand new construction home and actually sell a product that you could be proud of. ... More

First home buying experience. We were very excited. Disappointed to find that our builder simply couldn't be bothered to hold the contractors to a high standard. His exact words when we pointed out the terrible tile work around our fireplace were, "our tile guys are B grade". We were told that we could have them re do it but it could be worse. We didn't have the option to delay closing. There were other things we didn't catch as well. Out of square door frames, cabinet doors not the same size with off color replacements. Interior paint job was terrible even after we stuck tape over the entire house during the walk through. Overall I feel like we over paid for what we got. ... More

KHovnanian Homes has great sales people and that part of the experience is great. They are helpful, responsive, responsible, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of the experience falls off from there. Most importantly, the quality of craftsmanship is subpar and they have trained their PM's and warranty reps to talk a slick game to get inexperienced homeowners to accept VERY POOR quality workmanship everywhere they can get away with it. If you end up buying from KHov, be prepared to see some of the worst finish workmanship you've ever seen and be doubly prepared for their warranty guys to tell you that everything is "within tolerance" including 1" visible seems in drywall, drywall tape showing through crappy level 2 finish, curved walls, glooped on caulking and any other construction material they can pile on to cover up poor workmanship, You will also end up with damaged cabinets that they mark up with pens/touch up kits to cover up the damage their subs cause on EVERY job, you will spend months on your hands and knees trying to remove all of the construction materials that are stuck to your tiles as they NEVER cover their shoes when coming into your house to do finish work after your tile, carpets, etc. are all in. At the end of the day, they are a production company that cares about profits and not people. Just remember that going in and maybe you won't get your expectations up. ... More

The worst company and some company employees have no idea what they are doing and happening on site

My experience with the sales consultant was fantastic. Dennis was great, responsive and took on more than he probably should’ve when our Project managers went MIA. The areas we marked to be touched up were not in the house. The dry wall patch work was bad. There’s was dry grout all over our guest bathroom tile. There is mortar and boot prints in our sidewalk. The landscape job was patchy with dead shrubs installed and pine straw scattered all over our yard. Wouldn’t recommend a Khov home to anyone.

We purchased a home and process started fine but disappointed in craftsmanship and responsiveness. They took some shortcuts and it is evident in certain areas. As we submit the warranty items it takes a long time to get items addressed if they even do address them at all.

Too many issues with tile, doors, cabinets, sink, carpet for the home value, unfortunately not a good experience. Construction supervisor have been great taking care of too many issues

We had a really good experience on the sales side of things, and a good experience on the construction side. UNTIL we decided not to use the preferred lender (because they weren’t able to match other’s rates), then everything went south. Communication drop off and didn’t finish anything from the final week walkthrough until the move in date. After move in, took 3 weeks to just get our outlet covers in the kitchen fastened to the wall. Felt like construction just left a lot of their mess for warranty and it’s not warranty’s fault.

I did not get good service from the builder, quality of construction is not that great for the price I paid.

When it is to sell the property, they tell you everything is so flexible, but when it comes to closing... the story is very very different.

I wish that the final walk through of the house all of the issues and defects that was pointed out were fixed\addressed. Felt like I was rushed on signing off the paper works and I never received the final walk through copy because of spotty cellular signal at this location.

We chose Summit Pointe by KHOV due to it's location and initial pricing. The neighborhood is very nice and it's proximity to most amenities makes this location a very ideal spot. The whole buying process felt very rushed. Upon signing the sales contract, NO edits or revisions were allowed. Even small things such as moving an ethernet port from one room to another was not allowed. KHOV needs to realize that owner plans could potentially change after signing the contract. To be clear, we wanted some changes that were not structural to be implemented literally days after signing our contract. We understand that it's not feasible for design changes to occur weeks or months into the construction phases. The interior of the house seems to be very well built. We noticed that whoever designed the electrical outlets and switches did not consider room layout at all. Light switches are often tucked away behind doors, outlets are behind major furniture such as bed frames and certain light switches make no sense, especially in the kitchen. Why are the island light switches placed at the furthest point in the kitchen? The most glaring deficiency that many homeowners have complained about is the sad excuse of a driveway that leads to the garage. Some houses were optioned with 3 car garages. It is absolutely impossible to utilize the 3rd bay without absolutely destroying your lawn. There is plenty of room to pour a double wide driveway that would allow homeowners to park adequately without risk of damaging the fresh sod. Overall the house and location is desirable as the development is rapidly growing. Just be prepared for the typical new construction headaches. K. Hovnanian is a production builder, and you will get a house that is void of all common sense and practical spatial awareness. All. Walls have flat paint oh they paint the ceilings the same flat paint color as the walls. plumbing in the whole house stopped draining after the first four days, Half of the house lost electrical power due to a damaged line under the front yard and driveway. Quality control and contractor supervision doesn't exist.

Work of sub-contractors was sub par and became apparent after move in (paint dripped on carpet, grout missing in spots in bathroom, irrigation not properly installed, etc.) I know times are challenging in building currently, but for the price we paid for our home we feel a little cheated. Our close date got moved several times due to issues with labor, I guessed we figured the labor would be worth it but it wasn’t in the end. Communication was also lacking during the build process.

That is a basic home to buy for to much money. A lot of missing touch ups that need to be correct before letting the buyer move in

The house looks good at first glance but the construction and finished details are just shy of being good. I feel like the construction company was try to save money and cut corners and the house shows it. I know the construction managers had a lot to deal with, with supply chain and labor issues, and they said they were trying to close on too many (18) houses in one month. Perhaps they should build fewer at a time and build them better. I think it would be more cost effective to do it right the first time rather than to have to come back to fix haphazard work. I think this is generally the fault of the company’s higher management because the local people I dealt with both on my sale and the construction managers were wonderful and were obviously trying their best in a difficult situation. ... Rushed to close when house wasn’t ready. Resulted in workers doing shoddy job on house due to unrealistic deadlines. Workers didn’t take pride in their work. Items left unfinished or damage caused was un-repaired. When workers returned to complete work or repairs, they only completed a part of the job & then left. We repeatedly had to file requests for the same repairs.
