K.Hovnanian is a great builder!

From our sales agent to the building supervisor, our experience was terrific. We highly recommend K. Hovnanian Homes for your new home.

Even though we bought from out of state and during COVID-19, it all went smoothly, We trusted KHovnanian and all its staff and we were not disappointed.

As first time home buyers this was an amazing experience from start to finish. We always felt comfortable and informed through it. Everyone was great we really enjoyed the weekly updates from the team with pictures and updates.

Many of the frustrations from our home purchase came from the financing of the home itself. We were voiced that we would be saving 7k off the price of our home by going through their mortgage lender, and ultimately it was a disastrous experience. I understand wholeheartedly that when selling a home and buying another, there will be many more stressors involved than our first home purchase where our main concern was just purchasing the home. However, the amount of additional (and ridiculous) documents needed, the fact that the home appraised for 15k less than the settled upon price (realistically it was 22k less as we "saved" 7k by using their lender), and the sense of lack to transparency was the most frustrating. Initially the gentleman that sold us our home had voiced we could speak to negotiating the price as well as small features to be included such as blinds and a gas range for the home. Once we decided to negotiate (and they knew we were interested) that changed very quickly to an all or nothing mentality. Ultimately we decided to go through with the purchase price with small features being added in (mainly just blinds). One the appraisal had come through and we were 15k under the asking price, a VP conferenced into the phone and was the epitome of a shady salesman. From the sale of our previous home, we were wanting to put 20% down to avoid PMI, however when the home doesn't appraise the bank won't loan you the full amount so our 20 percent turned into 17%. The gentleman voiced nothing would change to our down payment or our monthly payment so it would be a wash and they would pick up the PMI payment on our behalf as it was "important for the first model to sell high". That is an exact quote. What they failed to mention was that while our monthly and down payment wouldn't change, that 15k was going straight into their pocket and while I knew this is what was happening I wanted to see if he would come out and voice it to us, or if he would hope we didn't have the understanding to see what was going on. Because we did we were going to walk on the property and days later the builder's rep did call us to apologize for the interaction and stated they would meet us halfway. Considering the sales of our home would cause more stress, we decided to go through with it. The mortgage company asked for document after document that we never would have needed through our old lender, and the most frustrating part was having 5 people reaching out to us for documents and then asking the account manager questions about the docs, and them not having any idea who or why they were asking. Lastly, upon the closing documents of our home were to be signed, we signed them based on the agreement we made with the re-negotiated price point and once we went to pick up keys for our home, that closing costs were changed again so we were asked to sign documents once again prior to receiving keys. This led to another few phone calls for that to be resolved. Please remember for the folks reading this review and considering to purchase a new built home, most closing costs go right into the builders pocket (that's why they can waive so much up front) and they are the HOA. This The home itself is really nice and the only issue I have with the quality of work is the paint being so cheaply done. I have purchased several homes in Arizona previously but never before have I seen the great responsiveness, quality and workmanship that has gone into my new K. Hovnanian home. During the building of the home I was made aware of the building status on a weekly basis by the salesperson and the Construction Manager. The Construction Manager, Matt, was there answering my questions during all phases of construction. He listened and came through on everything I requested and any changes I wanted made. KHov pays attention to details so the final product is outstanding. The customer service is prompt and thorough. This is my second KHove home and I've been happy with both.

Easy and understanding

The home turned out beautiful, and everyone from KHov was exceptional with any questions you had, and any concerns you had were addressed immediately. Both of my construction personnel made sure that i had everything i needed to know what to do when the building process was over

Overall great experience while going thru a global pandemic! It wasn't perfect but most things aren't but we absolutely love our home and the cost is outstanding. This was our first new construction build and we definitely would do it again.

K. Hov did a great job on our new home. Sale, Lending, and Architecture were an A++.

Quality of the home is great.

I am happy so far with my new home. Sales (Danielle) and construction crew (Kyle) were awesome. Vinny was great after the sale as well. Quality construction and value for money. The only shortcoming would be that I think KHOV should have made tiling standard in the living areas instead of carpet. Having tile in the living areas ended up being a sizeable upgrade. Or at least offer a credit if not installing the standard carpet and instead opting for another type of flooring.

I definitely recommend purchasing a K. Hovnanian home!

Great builder but slow in response to warranty issues.

Purchasing our home was a stress free, easy experience due to the assistance of Matthew, our sales represntative and Mark, our construction manager... Both were extremely professional and caring... Construction was on schedule and craftmanship was very good... Attention to detail and a quality job was a focus of the team building our home... This was due, as mentioned to both Matthew and Mark... A job well done...

I would never recommend buying a home from K. Hovnanian, they have the worst customer services ever, they are unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. Upgrades afford for your home are not good quality, I been having lots of issues that are not begin addressed properly due to lack of communication throughout the company. I'm in a very stressful situation, I regret buying my home with is company. I would stay away! Buy else where, don't waste you time and money.

Overall ok but disappointed with the warranty services.

The house is amazing, 98% of the house is exactly how we imagined it. There are some small issues that for the most part have been resolved by working with K. Hov. I hope more don't show up after they stop working with us.

The quality of the materials and finishes is great, with some opportunities on the timing to fix small issues identified after the moving. The process of purchase went smoothly with a surprise at the end when the address number has changed which generated some impacts on the closing. There is still an issue with the gas metrics as is is wrongly assigned at PS&G so I will end up paying my neighbour invoice and vice versa. Support from Hovnanian is needed.

This was my first home ever and did not know what to expect. KHov made it super easy for me the whole way, whether it was finding a bank/insurance/explaining all the things in my home. Thank you so much!

We bought this home together... Judith C. and Douglas M. We would rate the overall experience as average AT BEST. Sales process was good. Picking finishes process was above average. Many communication issues occurred prior to ground breaking, which was very late, which ended up costing us much money and frustration. Once construction began, things went pretty smoothly, though we found the workmanship in many areas disappointing - grouting / caulking poorly done or not done at all, electrical and heating and air conditioning workmanship haphazard in some places, painting of trim and doors was very disappointing and inadequate as was some detail carpentry. As the house went up, and the opportunity to change electrical outlet placement and light fittings SHOULD have still been open, it wasn't. Several options we could have selected were not verbalized to us, so we are paying to have it done after the fact or just doing without (gas piping into laundry room, vaulted ceilings, window in guest bath...) Landscaping was a nightmare and still is unsatisfactory. The construction manager tried in some cases to be helpful, but said his hands were tied. In other cases he was non-committal to fixing obvious mistakes, that, in our opinion, should have been fixed before we even saw them. for example the railing on the stairs to the back porch was placed in the middle of our dining room window. on other occasions he was very willing to get things fixed, especially after we had a home inspection by a 3rd party. We are still dealing with a dripping A/C register in the loft, that should never have been a problem... On the exterior, there are several areas where the concrete work was done using 2 different shades and looks lousy. Based on this experience, we would not hire this builder again as they do not really walk their talk... sadly. Given a 2nd chance, we would remodel an existing home, before having a mass builder like this one do one up from scratch. ... More

The overall experience wasn’t bad. The financing team was fantastic.

I had a great experience with the construction team, sales team and love, love, love my house!
