During our first few days in the home we noticed we were sweating more than normal while performing light duty chores and had trouble sleeping at night. Our towels would still be wet 24 hours after showering when hung up to dry. Items from the fridge would sweat immediately once taken out. We put in a service ticket with the warranty group during the first week and after a month we still have no answer to what the problem is. We have been running a dehumidifier 24/7 to keep moisture levels below 65% and every time it shuts off for more than a couple hours the humidity level starts going up. The HVAC group has come out about once a week and made minimal changes with no positive results. This experience has definitely spoiled the excitement of buying a new home. ... More

Sales dept: They come off very nice, but they weren't trustworthy (said we were moving forward with a lot purchase, then sold it to someone else), never knew anything about what was happening with the lot/house we ended up purchasing; over all disappointing Design dept: Excellent! Got great service from the design team Building supervisor: Excellent. Very forthright about build schedule, delays, etc. Very good communication Post-move in: several items still need to be fixed; have submitted several tickets/workorders - some were taken care of quickly; other items still pending with not follow up communication from KHov We love our new home, but the overall experience from initial purchase to move-in has been mixed. ... The house was NOT ready to be handed over to me and I have a list of over 15 items that need to be repaired with contractors in my house almost daily! The construction team totally dropped the ball and the quality of the workmanship of the house is terrible! I can't believe the amount of defects and things that need to be fixed!! It is unacceptable for the amount of money I paid for this house.

Still waiting on final pending items from our final walk before closing four weeks ago.

This process started out great. It was quick and painless. As we got into the build things started to go wrong time after time. Things such as our basement flooding 2 separate times due to errors made by the contractors. For us to then move in and still have a thick layer of mud/dust from the mud all over our basement. We had to fight to have the concrete replaced for our driveway because it was so rippled it would have been destroyed in a few short years. We had cracks on our step for our porch, which were still not fixed properly. We reached out to our building manager for a few simple things once the home closed, and have yet to have these items corrected. Our furnace wouldn’t turn on the first cold day of the season and we called the emergency line for them to tell us we had to wait multiple days for the heating company to come out and they’d call to have it scheduled, but when we called the company to follow up because we hadn’t heard from them 24 hrs later they said they heard nothing from KHovnanian to schedule them to come out. This process started great and ended with a bad taste in our mouth. Although we love our home, the process to get to here was more stressful then we expected. The many errors that occurred throughout the process were careless errors that could have been prevented with more attention to detail. Would we recommend your build to someone else? I wouldn’t say we wouldn’t because the home is much nicer then most local builders, but we will be sure to explain our struggles throughout this process. ... More

For how long we had to wait, I’m not so satisfied. Things still need to be fixed, workmanship was horrible. You need to hire people that know what they are doing. Covering a grout mistake is terrible. My grout is horrible. Was told nothing can be done. I’m sure I will in time love my house.

Got my home and couple things were not right. Reported them to the representative and have not heard anything back it’s been more then a month that things are reported but no one got back with an answer.

Overall, our experience was okay. We love our neighborhood, and are happy with our house. We found that we did not receive much information from K Hovnanian in the time period after signing our purchase contract and closing, unfortunately. We didn’t receive any information other than a simple marketing piece that showed our chosen floorplan and elevations until after our first pre-closing walkthrough with the builder representative. After it became very apparent that we did not have all information, we were finally given a binder with information - a binder that detailed building timelines, walkthrough processes, sample warranty info, etc. During our walkthroughs, we were made to feel as though we could not point out any cosmetic issues that needed to be fixed. And now, after closing, we have had minimal luck in getting the builders warranty to cover things that should be covered. We love our home, but have been disappointed in the workmanship and KHov’s reluctance to do the right thing by their customers. ... More

When my wife and I had the final walk through we enjoyed seeing our new home after being in it I have noticed corners that were cut and other issues. Examples chips in the flooring, wavy walls and ceilings, bowed doors and a raised floor drain. I put a call in one day about the furnace exhaust and I had to make an issue with the builder in order to get it corrected. I guess I will keep on KHOV and hopefully things will work out.

The sales person we worked with was great. Had she managed the whole customer experience it would have been a much more enjoyable purchase and our issues would have been resolved. Our design consultant didn't give us accurate information and met us at a different location instead of in the community where we purchased. This led to a lot of confusion when the final product was delivered since items we discussed were missing and we were told that was never part of the plan since the model was built with different options that are not available for the home. As for responsiveness to issues we have lived in the home for over a month now and we are still waiting for the builder to finish the home. All the bath fixtures are still missing and they can't seem to find the correct ones to finish the install. Other items we have brought to their attention they looked at and said they would get back to us but have never bothered to get us an answer. ... More

First I want to say, I love my new home. I feel so blessed and grateful for what we have.. I will try to make a long story short..The story i tell everyone is.. At first new construction wasn't an option of ours.. But when we seen Lantana community and the price was perfect!! The Space we needed and in our budget perfect! finally after couple years of looking, and getting out bided ect.. we are ready, we go in and tell the sales manager we want to move forward and we picked the lot ect.. we tell her next week I can go put the deposit down.. She tell us " She won't be in,and to come the following weekend "!!.. So that time comes around, she tells my realtor that the price when up 15k!! And that since I didn't have a deposit in a day before, I was not locked into the price that was 24 hrs before 15k higher!!.. It CRUSHED ME, my stomach turned, I was mad, disappointed, and was ready to walk out!.. Mind you I was ready to put the deposit down 7 days before, and I was told to come a week later!.. After look at my wife and kids, I couldn't back out and have their Happiness taken away too.. So if your a reviewer like me make sure to put the deposit down asap!.. And my Garage does not have a door to the outside!! Right, but the MODEL HOME DOES!!!!SMH.. ... More

This builder is good with roofing, basements and insulation however fall short on interior work. My microwave has a dent in my stove has scratches in it and the paint should have been white semi gloss.

Our experience with K.Hov was okay. Nice staff. But lack responsiveness to issues In a timely manner.

We are having many issues with the house and no clear direction from developer/builder how these will be resolved.. Just a painful situation for such a big investment

do not let them rush your close

Craftsmanship and quality from builder do not match price range for what house is worth. I've spent 280k on previous home in Clovis CA and everything about Wilson homes exceeded expectations. Insensitives from Wilson's where amazing and could not be beat. This new home is not worth the price we paid. I don't understand how I spent twice as much on this new home and it does not compete with the house previously purchased. After final walkthrough of home there are still several issues with washer, walls, cracks, glass, lights, and heating. Its very dificult to schedule to get issues fixed do to work schedule. ... More

After two full months in this house the floors have a bounce to them. Enough to have objects fall from a cabinet in a different room. There’s unfinished trim on cabinets. Light switches located behind doors. Questionable soundness of structure in exterior garage wall. I’ll assume the architect/designer does not live in one of these homes. I’m told the house needs to go through two seasonal changes. Time will tell.

My responses reflect the nature of construction and the workmanship provided. We have had numerous warranty issues and found multiple points of careless installation practices. If it wasn't for your sales team and their commitment to deliver on good customer service and product, much of our issues would have gone unaddressed with "canned" responses from our designated home warranties manager. The price we paid for the home is not reflective in the product delivered or the care after the home was turned over. The property was turned over to me with outside water drainage problems. I am not happy.

We had issues with the loan department and sending multiple documents. Seems that they were not communicating with each other. Sales representatives were always helpful. Electrical sockets in both bathrooms weren't tested prior to move in. So they didn't work. Walls needed repairs after the first month as you could see all the nicks, nails etc. The drywall is just painted over. Been here for 3 months and the refrigerator door handle came off. Maintenance requests submitted however, it takes a while for them to respond to them?

It is a great neighborhood. I wish they would have better customer service after you purchase the home. I moved in and noticed so many problems that I have not been receiving any help with. before purchasing the home I was very excited and loved the customer service but I guess that was just to get me to purchase the home. Now nothing but rude comments and no action.

Given dirty basement in a new house. Lot of mud in the basement. How can I write a good review?

Experience is not great. Not provided proper information during inspection and home walk-through. After closing, if I raise tickets, its taking lot of time to resolve the issues. Very poor to response time

We purchased our brand new home in March of 2024 and although we pay our full HOA dues, we have lived with mounds of dirt and dying landscaped trees for the past 4 months! We realize this was considered “Phase I”, and there would still be construction however, the horrible lack of landscape around our home doesn’t warrant us paying FULL HOA fees for services that clearly don’t align. We were told things by the sales team that turned out to be false and ended up costing us over $2,000 above and beyond what we expected to pay! As for the home itself - we love it! House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec. As you can imagine there was not much time for a thorough inspection (not that it appeared the builder had done one) and we are still finding issues.
