During our first few days in the home we noticed we were sweating more than normal while performing light duty chores and had trouble sleeping at night. Our towels would still be wet 24 hours after showering when hung up to dry. Items from the fridge would sweat immediately once taken out. We put in a service ticket with the warranty group during the first week and after a month we still have no answer to what the problem is. We have been running a dehumidifier 24/7 to keep moisture levels below 65% and every time it shuts off for more than a couple hours the humidity level starts going up. ...

The house was NOT ready to be handed over to me and I have a list of over 15 items that need to be repaired with contractors in my house almost daily! The construction team totally dropped the ball and the quality of the workmanship of the house is terrible! I can't believe the amount of defects and things that need to be fixed!! It is unacceptable for the amount of money I paid for this house.

This process started out great. It was quick and painless. As we got into the build things started to go wrong time after time. Things such as our basement flooding 2 separate times due to errors made by the contractors. For us to then move in and still have a thick layer of mud/dust from the mud all over our basement. We had to fight to have the concrete replaced for our driveway because it was so rippled it would have been destroyed in a few short years. For how long we had to wait, I’m not so satisfied. Things still need to be fixed, workmanship was horrible. You need to hire people that know what they are doing. Covering a grout mistake is terrible. My grout is horrible. Was told nothing can be done. I’m sure I will in time love my house.

Overall, our experience was okay. We love our neighborhood, and are happy with our house. We found that we did not receive much information from K Hovnanian in the time period after signing our purchase contract and closing, unfortunately. We didn’t receive any information other than a simple marketing piece that showed our chosen floorplan and elevations until after our first pre-closing walkthrough with the builder representative. When my wife and I had the final walk through we enjoyed seeing our new home after being in it I have noticed corners that were cut and other issues. Examples chips in the flooring, wavy walls and ceilings, bowed doors and a raised floor drain. I put a call in one day about the furnace exhaust and I had to make an issue with the builder in order to get it corrected. I guess I will keep on KHOV and hopefully things will work out.

The sales person we worked with was great. Had she managed the whole customer experience it would have been a much more enjoyable purchase and our issues would have been resolved. Our design consultant didn't give us accurate information and met us at a different location instead of in the community where we purchased. This led to a lot of confusion when the final product was delivered since items we discussed were missing and we were told that was never part of the plan since the model was built with different options that are not available for the home. Craftsmanship and quality from builder do not match price range for what house is worth. I've spent 280k on previous home in Clovis CA and everything about Wilson homes exceeded expectations. Insensitives from Wilson's where amazing and could not be beat. This new home is not worth the price we paid. I don't understand how I spent twice as much on this new home and it does not compete with the house previously purchased. After two full months in this house the floors have a bounce to them. Enough to have objects fall from a cabinet in a different room. There’s unfinished trim on cabinets. Light switches located behind doors. Questionable soundness of structure in exterior garage wall. I’ll assume the architect/designer does not live in one of these homes. I’m told the house needs to go through two seasonal changes. Time will tell.

My responses reflect the nature of construction and the workmanship provided. We have had numerous warranty issues and found multiple points of careless installation practices. We had issues with the loan department and sending multiple documents. Seems that they were not communicating with each other. Sales representatives were always helpful. Electrical sockets in both bathrooms weren't tested prior to move in. So they didn't work. Walls needed repairs after the first month as you could see all the nicks, nails etc. The drywall is just painted over. Been here for 3 months and the refrigerator door handle came off. Maintenance requests submitted however, it takes a while for them to respond to them?

It is a great neighborhood. I wish they would have better customer service after you purchase the home. I moved in and noticed so many problems that I have not been receiving any help with. before purchasing the home I was very excited and loved the customer service but I guess that was just to get me to purchase the home. Now nothing but rude comments and no action.

House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec.
