K. Hovnanian did not fulfill a requested upgrade in the master bed room. At the time of closing escrow, the bathroom in the second floor did not have the sink and cabinets. The backyard, according to the landscaping professionals has an elevation toward the fence, making very costly the upgrades. The optic fiber internet from AT&T is buried in front of my yard. According to them , the builders did not paid attention to it. The bathrooms in general have a very poor finishing. We are still waiting for some shelves for the kitchen cabinets.

Its unfortunate I need to be my own project manager because the QC in minimal and short lived. The lack of quality control concerns me in the long run. I can only hope all issues are addressed and remedied in a reasonable amount of time.

The staff was very unresponsive.

Poor workmanship and shoddy finishing job.

The sales person was good, she was very responsive throughout the entire process. The most disappointing part is the quality of workmanship and materials. The cabinets are VERY low quality and workmanship of installation is VERY poor. Cabinet doors are not lining up, trim pieces are falling off from, sharp nails/staples are exposed etc. Both interior and exterior paint jobs are very messy and workmanship is VERY poor as well. There are many paint drips, splashes, missing spots, and even wrong colors on exterior trims. In addition to the poor workmanship there are many signs of carelessness shown throughout the house on many items and that is very disappointing. The house was NOT clean when I moved in. Limited choices in updates for price point of home, Poor quality of installation of cabinets, poor quality in outside stucco and paint of home. Water Softener blew gasket and flooded the garage with 3" of water within first 10 days of move in. Water damage to inside and garage sheetrock, epoxy flooring and baseboards. 18 days later still not repaired. I like the home very much however would not purchase if I had to do over again.

My experience is cabinet are falling off hinges almost had a serious accident in my house cabinet above fell off almost hit my husband on head. Very cheap material I have bought twenty houses never experienced this bad quality.

Get an inspection from an unbiased 3rd party and don't sign a single paper to close until all items are cleared and re inspected.

We have a lot of things that carried over into warranty. We have not heard anything about them. Have not seen a ticket in the portal, not any follow up. Was told our contact was no longer with the company 2 weeks after moving in. Overall quality of work can tell there is lack to attention to detail.

Construction and sales staff had out lot off extra mile efforts to make the house complete on time. But there are very poor quality materials used across and are definitely can be improved. Turnaround to issues is very slow, it’s been quite sometime the issues raised to warranty team, and no one take responsibility to acknowledge for the issues to fix. I think there is more room to improve and would help for next constitution sites

I previously owned a KHov home in NJ. I owned that house for 26 years and would take it back in a heartbeat. I have been extremely disappointed in the quality of my current KHov home in Delaware. I’m not sure if it is the lack of codes or just the enforcement in Delaware. I don’t know how this house ever passed inspection. The quality of the home I currently reside in is way below the standard KHov homes I am familiar with in NJ. Also they have expanded beyond their capability to provide quality service to their current customers let alone any future customers. They lack enough personnel to handle all of the issues. Only good thing is the sales person Vicky is helpful, responsive and “New” construction manager Greg who made it better. It was a tough journey but by gods grace there are changes in the team and we finally moved in after a long long delay and mistakes in construction. If it wasn’t for new team I would have given a single star

The buying process was very easy. Sales does a good job at handling mostly everything for you to close. The materials and quality in our home were dissapointing. Rusted applicances and fixtures. Paint specks all over the tiled floor, crooked trim and other issues we didn’t expect to find. Check all workmanship in detail before purchasing!

I was happy they were able to stick with the timeline however it was just an average experience. The foreman for KH was good but the paint and clean up was subpar.

I have to be honest, sometimes the response time took too long if I called someone instead of sending an email. I indicated a few issues when I did my walk through, which are just getting repaired supposedly this Friday, November 13th. My home closed on September 28th. What I have been told is it was the vendors who claimed they were not getting the supplies due to CIVID-19. This very well may be true, but it’s still very frustrating.

Stuckle on boarders of house are very pourly made. My son bumped in to it with hand bars from his bike and tour off a chunk. Seals around front door and garage doors have folded in as well and dont seal like supposed to.

This is not a custom home, I repeat, this is not a custom home. They build them as fast as they can and try to cover up as much as possible. You have to be thorough in your own inspections and stay on top of the contractor to make sure the issues actually get fixed.

We do like our new home but unfortunately there is zero response to issues. I would expect some issues but a timely response would go a long way. A brick fell off the house several weeks ago and it’s still sitting there. We moved in on March 1st and still do not have a graded yard or any communication as to why newer homes around us have been graded/seeded and ours is still dirt. Everyone has garage door hardware but not us. Some not exterior painting was completely missed and left untouched. That’s not a huge deal but it’s adding to our irritation. Don't jump into anything. There are many new builds out there, with many new communities (and builders) to select from. Do your due diligence in researching before jumping into anything.

Everything from the price to what’s included, to getting fixed done by warranty… the story keeps changing. Make sure you get everything in writing. They’ll still give you a hard time. “Oh did I say the appliances are included, sorry it’s $7k more!” “Management said we can’t fix your microwave anymore, I know it’s weird”.

Is that all you care, here you go. Buying and paying cash for a home is not it’s just not buying it, you are expecting to have a great finishes and not to have to experience so many construction defects like the one I bought from you. The poor quality in doing smooth finish to any home is critical to your industry, you should be looking into more details as to what your contractor are doing in regards to the finish of any project. If you like you can offer me a job and I can help you in supervising your projects so you don’t have to be spending additional workmanship and expenses.

I was pleased to buy this house. Quickly that feeling passed after moving in. As stated in the title, the house has had many nagging structural issues. It’s like the builder found the cheapest materials and the least experienced construction workers to build this house. The door brace that leads to the garage wasn’t nailed down, the kitchen cabinet wasn’t nailed down; there was a gap between the door and wall that allowed crickets to enter the home, the floor strip between the bedroom and bathroom wasn’t secured; wholes between the wall and staircase; neglected to install a wall plate for the outlets in one of the bedrooms; nails are still sticking out in one of the bedrooms, now ceiling and wall is literally separating in multiple rooms. Get all pre closing issues in writing. Craftsmanship is not on par with price of home.

Lies, shady tactics, and false promises. Offer ZERO options, no follow through, once you sign you are immediately forgotten about. Will never recommend KHov nor will I ever build with KHov again
