Where to begin. First, the POC changed during construction without notice. We only found out because we hadn’t heard from anyone for so long we emailed and days later got a response. The few times I had to call to inquire about updates for signing or scheduling, they hired part time who didn’t know and refused to get the info. We closed sooner than expected, however, many issues unseen at the time came to the forefront and when we submitted a “ticket” for service nothing happened. The biggest disappointment was the amount of ants that invaded our home. Scores and scores of them. I had to reseal areas that should have been taken care of during construction such as the kitchen and pantry. I was unable to establish entry to portal designed to support homeowners and no one knew how to resolve the issue. It took a week before i given a possible POC email to resolve the issue, but why would I want to hassle with that again? The foreman was the main saving grace. His kindness and professionalism is the only reason I haven’t been further disappointed. ... More

I love our new home. It exceeds our expectation in everyway.

After buying I saw that it was not functionally designed, the materials are regular. the lighting of the complex is very bad, they designed the complex to have no visit. They say things to sell and then do not comply with the provisions.

We were very disappointed with our new home. The workmanship and materials were not what we expected for the price we paid for our new K. Hovnanian Home. Some of the issues -- the paint was thin, the carpet and pad are low quality even though we paid for an upgrade; the seams on the carpet are sticking out in most of the doorways; the grout work is very poor quality; a couple of the bathroom sinks were chipped and the repair work was shoddy at best; the frames of the windows and sliding glass doors are stained with paint/sealant and were not cleaned; and the house had not been thoroughly cleaned prior to our moving in. ... We are so happy with the way our new home has been built. The builders are passionate about what they do and they never fail to the extra mile to make sure they meet the satisfaction of the homeowner. I am happy to have made the right choice.

The best part was the front sales end who worked constantly with us and our unforeseen issues with the Sale of our house. Juliet was always available, always attentive and always flexible with our situation. Once in the house Anthony and Jimmy were also very accommodating and responsive. Some issues still need to be addressed but I have complete confidence that this team wants us happy and all to be taken care of asap

Sales person/manager/design center need some training so they are on the same page! Quality of work sucks! Contractors maybe paid on the very low salary and maybe not license. Came on some weekends with the contractor family on site kids playing (age ranging from 6 yrs old to 15 yrs old) on my very expensive upgrade flooring....The schedule for some touch up/repair is more than the wait of doctors appointment! Wall uneven and dusty, carpet is not covered while they in and out the house for some electrical issues, making holes on several spot on the wall for electrical access. Those holes they make still visible because of the texture is not the same. Right now still having issues with the cabinets and parts maybe available next month. ... More

We really love our new home and beautiful community. It has been a wonderful experience working with the entire KHOV family. It has truly been a blessing to work with such an exceptional team. The love and professionalism they have shown toward us from day one is awesome! I am especially grateful to Tara, Dave, and Ann they are truly the greatest. I really appreciate all of the personal time and and care they gave us and all of their expertise. This really meant a lot to us.

Everyone has been supportive and helpful throughout the whole process. Made a potentially tedious process fun and enjoyable!

My intent is to give an honest and candid feedback and hope this results in corrective actions to make Khov a better company. First, the good things. The KHov sales manage for Commodore at Preston is a star. It was her who convinced me to terminate my lease and purchase the house in October (year end for KHOV). Additionally, once the mortgage issues unfolded I had considered terminating the agreement. She not only preserved the sale, but did everything in her power to remedy the situation. Julie the QA manager is another great recourse. She worked tirelessly to resolve the issues with dishwasher, vent hood, garage door and windows. Now the bad, The low rating for overall experience is due to the mortgage experience. When I signed the contract I was not aware that the purchase discount would be recovered with predatory interest rate. I had excellent credit. Despite that the rate quoted by KHOV was 1.35% higher than the competitor. The inhouse lending company is a conflict of interest and in my opinion a fraud ( Per the loan officer the lending arm of KHOV serves the interests of investors and not the customer). I hope this practice of builder owned mortgage company becomes illegal in Texas. I would recommend that Khov considers using a few lenders and making it competitive mortgage process that is in interest of consumer and not the investors. Moreover, the servicing of the loan was also not a pleasant experience as compared to going to an outside 3rd party company. When business is taken for granted rather than earning it customer service always suffers. Khov mortgage is a classic example of this behavior taking root in company practices. The closing process is another example of poor customer service. There was zero communication between title company. The address on the document for closing was wrong and I arrived at the wrong office. It would be highly recommended that the Title company at least communicate with the customer a few days prior to closing. Perhaps a welcome email with all the details necessary including accounting. Gold Key orientation does not cover items by Texadia the media company for our community. I am still trying to get documentation to get the security alarm system changed to a unique code. Their response is less than adequate. The house inspection process needs careful review. I had a few major issues come up after move in. During the walkthrough I did not test the appliances assuming those were new. Dishwasher and Vent did not work. The warranty person took care of the issues but a new home with major issues just does not convey the message of quality that Khov markets it as their hallmark. ... More

Final cleaning poor, ceiling texturing poor, issues with shower grout and caulk lines, wall paint not durable scuffs easily and does not clean well

I purchased my home in Cambridge Heights about a month and half ago. The process was so easy and enjoyable. Richelle and Shelby helped to answer all of my questions and allowed my relator and I to take our time to find my perfect home. They answered all of my questions in a timely Manner and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Once I found my home, Paul was the best at making sure everything was perfect when I moved in. He took his time explaining all the details of my new home and even came and helped me with a few things after my closing was complete. I have been incredibly happy in this community and would recommend the community and any home from K Hovnanian to anyone. ... More

High recommendation to K Hovnanian!

Every person that I worked with from Leslie at the design center, Matthew in sales, Kevin and Mark the construction superintendents were professional, knowledgeable and always helpful when I had questions. They made sure every detail was taken care of even after I had moved in.

Everything was very easy except for the alarm contractor. I still can’t get the panel programmed.

Great staff and very helpful through out the whole home buying process

After two full months in this house the floors have a bounce to them. Enough to have objects fall from a cabinet in a different room. There’s unfinished trim on cabinets. Light switches located behind doors. Questionable soundness of structure in exterior garage wall. I’ll assume the architect/designer does not live in one of these homes. I’m told the house needs to go through two seasonal changes. Time will tell.

Susan was an excellent help for making or choice

The home buying and designing process was very smooth and an overall enjoyable process. Any question that we had during any phase of the processes was quickly answered. We were updated on a weekly basis as construction began and was very informative and helpful. I appreciate the detailed information we received at the time we took ownership. I especially love how we have up to a year to fix anything that should arise with the home and it gives us peace of mind. Every person we met during the process, from the sales people, designers, construction and service managers, have all been wonderful to work with. We are enjoying living in our new home, new community and also happy to be a part of the KHOV family. ... More

It has been a really good experience, from meeting Damaris who helped with the sales to working with Mauricio., who has helped and guided us with settling into our home.
