Jazmine was very helpful, although it’s not the same as having your own realtor that can be there 24/7. Overall I’m pleased with the experience. HOA not so much but I knew they had HOA so it’s on me.

Rose was the absolute best salesperson. She was very knowledgeable and helpful.

Victor, the builder, was exceptional in keeping me abreast of the progress of the construction, on a weekly basis. Through photos, videos, and text messages I felt very much informed throughout the construction process - I thank the builder immensely for the open and consistent communication as well as the excellent craftsmanship on my home; he was also very thorough in the last walkthrough before Closing, taking time and patience to explain everything to me. The Closing experience could be greatly improved, however, and a more concierge-type approach would have made for a smoother and more enjoyable process in the days leading up to, and on the day of Closing. I was disappointed to learn that KHov left a dirty filter in our furnace at closing, It was clogged with what appeared to be drywall dust mostly. This is unacceptable. I guess because it is out of sight the culprit didn't think anyone would notice. This one thing prevents me from giving a great review.

The home is overpriced for the materials used. This is a track homes priced as custom with a pretty bow on it. The trades are poor at best. The cabinets have popping fronts, every sink in this house has leaked or is leaking, the floors are uneven requiring a shim to level my refrigerator, there is and has been a moisture smell in the guest bedroom from the day I moved in, still not found, The lock plates have been over chiseled at the front door, looks bad. The back porch columns, I have not been able to find a stud, they appear hollow, or at a minimum not framed to code. The windows actual grown and my blinds move with wind. We felt on our walk through was rushed. and then we felt the house wasn't cleaned as well as we thought it should be upon move in. Couple of issues we noted on walk through were brushed off. (for example...".Oh just put some cleaner on that"...) We did eventually get things taken care of but not until after we made a list and it was fixed through warranty.. But it really shouldn't have been done that way. We do like our home....

Workmanship looks to be done in a haste. Seems like the house was put together very rapidly. Had major issues with ceiling fan plates as they were not set flush to the sheet rock correctly. Fire sprinkler pipe in common wall was not covered appropriately with “fire plate” to prevent puncture, and was accidentally struck when installing a TV. Construction company who Placed utility cable box easement was placed too far in on property line instead of on property shared line. I’m having to have it placed underground in order to expand my driveway width. Seems like they want the cheaper route with the tubular green capsules that stick out of the ground, which looks hideous. American Richmond homes property houses across the street did not have these in place. Everything was put underground. ... More

We are very pleased with our K.Hovnanian home. There are some issues that need to be addressed but they’re minor. Everyone we have worked with has been very helpful and easy to get ahold of.

This is the 3rd home we have purchased and it was our best buying experience ever. From our Sales Agent to our Financing/Loan Agent to the Construction Team (during the Build and even after Move-In) to the Home Warranty personnel everyone at K. Hovnanian have been OUTSTANDING! Kind, courteous, competent and focused on Customer Service! GREAT JOB!!

Karen was very responsive to all issues raised.

Good. But at the same time. I would like to have choice for: using Gas or Electricity or both. For the A/C and Heater.

Daniel Z. Was a fantastic help with the home buying process. The construction team did a wonderful job fixing up anything we saw on the yellow tape walk through.

The sales team is very attentive and easy to work with despite the various moving pieces. The neighborhood is super quiet which is a huge plus as it’s filled with mature and responsible working professionals. Overall home is good but the very small backyard is taking some time to get used to. I would have been ok with a smaller footprint for more backyard.

Is that all you care, here you go. Buying and paying cash for a home is not it’s just not buying it, you are expecting to have a great finishes and not to have to experience so many construction defects like the one I bought from you. The poor quality in doing smooth finish to any home is critical to your industry, you should be looking into more details as to what your contractor are doing in regards to the finish of any project. If you like you can offer me a job and I can help you in supervising your projects so you don’t have to be spending additional workmanship and expenses.

As an out of town buyer the sales and PM team were accommodating to the process. Our specific options were incorporated to the build plan and we closed on time. Small repairs prior to closing and under warranty the months following were handled timely and to standards. Great team of professionals.

My sales person and others on the selling side of things were great. My community service person is responsive and goes above and beyond, as have the construction managers, even if what was promised took a long time to make happen. The problem is that the quality of construction materials is below expectations for a home in the million dollar price range, and workmanship in general is poor. The attention to detail is lacking, especially in the finishing. From crooked outside windows with gaps in the framing around them to a shower that pools water because it wasn’t put in to drain correctly, I could go on. This builder cuts corners in every way. For example, no drawers in the guest bath, just the false fronts, just to name one. One reason I didn’t move in sooner was that I had the entire interior painted rather than put up with white paint that came off if I rubbed my hand over the wall. The builder representative handling service requests outside of the community representative is abrupt and rude and makes it clear he just doesn’t care. He won’t address concerns he doesn’t have to address, which includes “cosmetic” issues (I.e.,scratched, dinged cabinets) that are discovered more than 10 days past closing date, no matter when the homeowner actually moved into the home. I would never buy another home built by K Hovnanian, nor would I recommend this builder to anyone looking to buy a new home. ... More

Had a great experience buying home.

Generally, a good experience. Building project manager and co-worker very responsive to questions and providing answers to questions. Having to travel from Fredericksburg, VA to Chantilly, VA to select specifice items for inside the house was not pleasant, and would have been more convenient if the same service were provided closer to the new community home site.

The sales rep (Tiffany) was very knowledgeable and never missed a chance to connect with updates. She gave useful tips that helped me make better decision, especially when my original lender failed to come through. Tiffany promised to find an alternative and she did with very good result. In addition. the construction manager was always calling to relay updates about progress on construction site. Although it took 10 months to move in, it is worth the wait. Thanks Tiffany!

The home had too many issues to be handled after move in.

House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec. As you can imagine there was not much time for a thorough inspection (not that it appeared the builder had done one) and we are still finding issues. Vicki my agent was wonderful. She provided timely updates since my primary home is out of state. she was extremely responsive to questions, a great experience.

Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More
