Buying and paying cash for a home is not it’s just not buying it, you are expecting to have a great finishes and not to have to experience so many construction defects like the one I bought from you. The poor quality in doing smooth finish to any home is critical to your industry, you should be looking into more details as to what your contractor are doing in regards to the finish of any project. If you like you can offer me a job and I can help you in supervising your projects so you don’t have to be spending additional workmanship and expenses.

As an out of town buyer the sales and PM team were accommodating to the process. Our specific options were incorporated to the build plan and we closed on time. Small repairs prior to closing and under warranty the months following were handled timely and to standards. Great team of professionals.

My sales person and others on the selling side of things were great. My community service person is responsive and goes above and beyond, as have the construction managers, even if what was promised took a long time to make happen. The problem is that the quality of construction materials is below expectations for a home in the million dollar price range, and workmanship in general is poor. The attention to detail is lacking, especially in the finishing. From crooked outside windows with gaps in the framing around them to a shower that pools water because it wasn’t put in to drain correctly, I could go on. This builder cuts corners in every way. For example, no drawers in the guest bath, just the false fronts, just to name one. One reason I didn’t move in sooner was that I had the entire interior painted rather than put up with white paint that came off if I rubbed my hand over the wall. The builder representative handling service requests outside of the community representative is abrupt and rude and makes it clear he just doesn’t care. He won’t address concerns he doesn’t have to address, which includes “cosmetic” issues (I.e.,scratched, dinged cabinets) that are discovered more than 10 days past closing date, no matter when the homeowner actually moved into the home. I would never buy another home built by K Hovnanian, nor would I recommend this builder to anyone looking to buy a new home. ... More

Had a great experience buying home.

Generally, a good experience. Building project manager and co-worker very responsive to questions and providing answers to questions. Having to travel from Fredericksburg, VA to Chantilly, VA to select specifice items for inside the house was not pleasant, and would have been more convenient if the same service were provided closer to the new community home site.

The sales rep (Tiffany) was very knowledgeable and never missed a chance to connect with updates. She gave useful tips that helped me make better decision, especially when my original lender failed to come through. Tiffany promised to find an alternative and she did with very good result. In addition. the construction manager was always calling to relay updates about progress on construction site. Although it took 10 months to move in, it is worth the wait. Thanks Tiffany!

The home had too many issues to be handled after move in.

House was delayed 3 weeks, which was an issue for multiple reasons. 1) Almost no communication from the construction manager, and sales agent who promised us we would be taken care of since we were moving from out of state; 2) because of the delay, since we were moving from out of state we had to find lodging during the interim since we timed our previous home sale to the promised delivery date; and 3) previous house closed the Wed after Thanksgiving and the so called "Gold Key" turnover was on 21 Dec. As you can imagine there was not much time for a thorough inspection (not that it appeared the builder had done one) and we are still finding issues. Great experience! Kept me in the loop and provided support when I needed help through the process. Couldn't asked for a better team, amazing quality and immediate response to my needs.

Vicki my agent was wonderful. She provided timely updates since my primary home is out of state. she was extremely responsive to questions, a great experience.

Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More

Disappointed in the quality of the materials used.

Had a great experience and this was our fifth house purchase. The patience and professionalism shown by Monica was really one of the reasons we went with K. Hovanian. Joe as the construction manager was helpful and responsive. Home is wonderful!. Thank you!

The buying process with Khov should have been straightforward, but we faced several challenges. Our salesperson was not helpful, and the tight schedule made it difficult to thoroughly review the contract, closing details, and warranty information. There were discrepancies in the final delivery, and negotiation was off the table. The salesperson has since left the community, likely moving to another. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience purchasing a new build with Khov."

Recently had the pleasure of closing on a new home, and we couldn't be more impressed with the entire experience. From start to finish, the team was professional and provided timely updates. The quality of craftsmanship in our new home exceeded our expectations, and any concerns we had were promptly addressed with care and expertise. We are thrilled with our decision to choose Khov and would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a top-notch homebuilding experience.

I closed on my house 12/12/23. I told KHOV building rep 12/16/23 about a serious drainage problem in my yard. Once he saw the amount of standing water he told me he would send the grounds people that week he said the grade was bad. They never came. I put in a service ticket with KHOV. They sent the building reps superior out. He came out and said he would return with Owner of thier Landscaping company to look at it. A total conflict of interest but what could I do? They were a no show for the next three appointment. After telling him I needed a firm appointment and could not afford to wait another day at home he gave me the appt. They showed up with the superior and his superior, who told me he knew nothing about drainage. They blamed it on my fence and said Fence Company had to fix it. The owner of the Fence company came and clearly saw that the grade of the lawn was so wrong plus my yard was not draining. The Fence Co owner wrote a long detailed letter with photos for verification. They did nothing. When I contacted them again the said that they were told the issue had been resolved. After many, many efforts the head of homeowners Services scheduled 2 more appointentments to look at the yard which were rescheduled. When he and Landscaping company came out he said again it was the fence. Out of desperation I contacted the City for help. They sent out one of their drainage experts. He confirmed the drainage system wanted working and I was one of many with same problem. They contacted KHOV and next day the head of homeowners came back and told me that the company knew there was an issue with the drainage on my whole street. He said the Vice president of Home owners services was going to fix the Bur Issue and install enough drains to fix problem. I really don't know if this will be repaired. I haven't received any emails or correspondence confirming the company will fix this. This is a horrible company that just wants to finish Lakes at New Riverside so they can move on to the next 4 phased of their housing developments along New Riverside. ... More

Sales staff was good and are limited to what they can share. Craftsmanship with the building process is not at the level I expected. Some corners have been cut with the interior of the structure. The unfinished garage has numerous flaws in the workmanship. Significant amount of money spent on upgrades that don’t live up to an upgrade with split wood and damaged or unfinished materials.

The people I have interacted with have been fantastic. This company has been nothing if not personable. The house looks fantastic. However, the longer I live in the house, the more I begin to see where corners were cut. Plastic nuts on brass screws are a recipe for disaster (especially when it comes to water lines), but yet, that's what we have. The front steps have been placed on top of the dirt out front with no retaining wall for said dirt, meaning as it rains, that dirt underneath the steps is eroding away. There were no handrails put in for the front steps, and where they could have asked if we wanted back steps, they chose instead to put a barrier over the back door that's something of the eye sore. Basically, if they had the responsibility to cut corners on materials used or to simply say, "Not our job," they did it. Overall, it's a great house, but those cut corners seem to be multiplying, and as they do, it bothers me. ... More

Working with K. Hovanian staff was a living nightmare. I was lied to throughout the entire process. Several people dropped the ball on K. Hovanian’s end which jeopardized my home purchase more than once throughout the process. I was repeatedly given the run around and told things that were false. They made several mistakes in my application and then tried to make me bring extra money to the table. When they gave additional incentives to make up for their mistakes they then continued to throw the incentives they were giving me in my face saying things like”we are bending over backwards to help you”. No, you are bending over backwards because I’m holding you accountable and making you fix the mistakes YOU made and the misinformation K HOVANIAN staff provided. The house itself is beautiful and I love it, but I would not buy from them again and will be sure to tell everyone I know not to. This was not my first home purchase, so I understand the process. It does not have to be as stressful and difficult as K Hov made it. They repeatedly tried to take advantage of me and thankfully my realtor had my back. It’s not worth the stress. I literally lost weight from the stress. Even when closing came, they lied and said I could close on 3 different occasions when the house was not actually complete and move in ready. The KHovnanian team went out of their way to help us through the process. After our purchase they stayed in contact with us and was on top of any concerns. Would recommend this Builder highly.

Both Kade and Lisa were very helpful throughout our building process and always addressed our questions promptly. Both are great assets to KHov.

I had a great experience from start to finish & the swiftness in responses to all of my inquiries and issues is unmatched. Highly recommend! Andrew, our construction manager, is AMAZING and Catricia just makes everything better. I love the team and I love my new home!
