This is worse quality . I had so many issues within few Months of moving in . Stay away from this builder !!!

Worst homebuying experience. Many issues.

Quality of this home is not what I expected.I had an irrigation system leak for a month in the yard and driveway that was soaked so bad youcan’t walk on it ,one of the leaks was spraying at the front door.After emailing and calling for a month it was finally resolved .The home have exterior doors not sealing properly causing bugs to enter.Some of the tile are cracked mail pops in the walls garage door binds when opening,Some interior doors not closing properly/a/c system not balanced properly hot upstairs in some of the bedrooms.

From the sales experience with Josh and Vicky to the construction experience initially with Dave and then brought to a perfect completion by Giusseppe, I really felt that I picked out everything that I could want in the home and it was delivered on time with perfection. Any minor post closing items were handled quickly by Giuseppe and any questions about the house were answered by both Josh and Vicky. And I still love the instagram videos by Vicky. The Mortgage company with Tammy, Harold and Linda during such a rocky time for interest rates were so helpful and patient. Thank you!! I just wish I could stay at home and play and never work!!! ... This has been a bad experience and continues to be, I wouldn’t recommend this developer. Lied to every step of the way, if I could have got my deposit back I would have went elsewhere. The best single word to describe everything. Incompetent

I have been frustrated and burdened with the lack of quality workmanship in the townhome we paid for in Stuart, Florida at the Preserve at Avonlea. Monica, the salesperson, was wonderful to work with along with Jim Carroll as Community Manager/Liason after the sale closed. Beyond these two people, I have been unimpressed with the professionalism and customer care/support of the K. Hovnanian team who is sold strongly with the brand and your unit upon purchasing. Very disappointed...and I work in the real estate industry and manage 200 agents along with 650 total in our company. This is the 3rd new construction home I have purchased (4th overall), but the first from KHovnanian, and the first in the south. This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had. The builder lied, strongly stretched the truth, or feigned ignorance about many different things; the house wasn't ready at closing; and I've spent three months going through the warranty department to get the house to the condition it should have been in when I bought it (not perfect by any means, but livable). Given what has already gone wrong, I'm certain more will go wrong, but the warranty department has at least assisted as much as possible in rectifying the issues I had at closing or since then. I am not happy with my experience or lack of quality work or any attention to detail on my home. If I wanted to put this much work into a home, I would have bought a resale. Whoever buys my home someday will get a great home, but that will be because of what I did to fix it and make it and not better and not because of how I purchased it. ... More

Lies, shady tactics, and false promises. Offer ZERO options, no follow through, once you sign you are immediately forgotten about. Will never recommend KHov nor will I ever build with KHov again

I had too many issues with my home

I am extremely disappointed with the sale department's abysmal level of service. The lack of coordination between departments during the transition process was not only frustrating but also a clear indication of their negligence. Documents not being properly handed over to the closing department resulted in unnecessary headaches. The closing personel Michelle took out her frustration the buyer when it's clearly the seller lack of responsibility. Furthermore, the sale person , Steve, inability to respond to customer emails in a timely manner is inexcusable. Waiting for days to receive a response is not only unprofessional but also reflects a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. This entire experience has been a testament to their incompetence and lack of commitment to their clients. I strongly advise anyone considering working with this department to think twice before subjecting themselves to such a disorganized and unresponsive ordeal. The only good thing is the person Ryan, who did the walk thru is very responsive and kept up with all the agenda. ... More

Sales person was awesome. Warranty dept. Has been nothing but broken promise after broken promise. Not one item on a long list has really been addressed yet. After they receive the check, they forget about the new homeowner. It has been very frustrating to say the least, nothing like what was promised.

It was a pleasure to got my new beautiful home from K.Hovnanian everything was wonderful good job guys.

Every single thing in my new home is working. Every surface is free of flaws. No surprises! All I had to do was unpack. Answers to any questions- a phone call away. Great attention to detail and follow up. I sleep well:)

Brandon was always extremely helpful and willing to answer all of my questions. He is friendly, knowledgeable and always approachable which I've appreciated. You guys need 1,000 Brandons! Unlike Dustin, my main contact who always made me feel like I was bothering him. To no surprise, he left the company and went into some sort of Construction endeavor if I remember correctly which is probably better suited for him. He should NOT be in any sort of Customer Service position. Don't get me wrong, he addressed things because I pushed for them but I could tell by our interactions that he was overwhelmed, over worked and pretty much hated his job. Yvonne replaced Dustin and I haven't had to interact with her other than to respond to an email from her on an open ticket after Dustin left. ... More

My number one problem deals with the construction of my home's swale. In Port Saint Lucie where my home is, the city has water swales in front of most front yards. This swale is supposed to allow water flow from heavy rains. My swale was either not done correctly or the effectiveness of the swale was altered during construction. At any rate, it has lead to a pudding of water around my driveway. Because the water isn't moving, it had turned green from algae. It also invites mosquitos and frogs. The city blames the builder, and Khov construction had not moved to do anything about it. So I have to suffer with this at my NEW home. ... More

Nothing has been completed in the Community as promised, amenities, pool, pickleball, etc.

Quality of materials is not good, distance between plinth and Flor laminate so huge.

Pros: High value for money, great layouts Cons: Cuts corners in quality in frw places, very inflexible in terms accomodating even simple change requests

Love the neighborhood and plan. The sales folks did a good job. The after-sales team has been great.. which is good as there have been a number of issues. The building process itself was the issue. There was a consistent lack of quality. The builder was willing not only to cover up but to lie. Insulation was missing from the wall and ceiling. A water leak at the main was "from rain" six weeks earlier... though no other house had that "rain". Those are just 2 examples of a difficult process. Thankfully, K. Hovaninan IS addressing these issues slowly, but, with honest and quality supervision, there would be fewer issues to address and K. Hovnanian would have earned more stars. I suspect many builders will have such issues, but this was my experience and the experience of many of my neighbors. ... More

Nothing was done right. So many repairs needed from holes in walls. Doors splitting, whole house needed to be repainted. Cheap quality

The project manager started off promising the world and telling us that the issues we had read about on-line about their quality and service were already corrected. Lie lie lie!!!! The house took an extra three months to “complete” after their projection. Normally it wouldn’t have been such a big deal but we couldn’t lock in on an interest rate until 30 days prior to majority completion. The company didn’t seem in any hurry considering their company was also the lender and ended up benefiting from a higher interest rate. This was at the beginning of 2023 when the Feds kept raising the rates. After closing we didn’t move in another 2.5 months thinking it would give the company enough time to finish their punch list. Haha, shame on us. DO NOT sign off on their punch list until everything has been completed or you will never see it done. All of my neighbors that bought Kahov homes before us have told us that they just gave up and did the repairs themselves. I am sitting in our home right now staring at the uneven double doors, caulking and grout job that looks like they applied it like toothpaste, paint all over the floors, fixtures and no touch up paint for the cabinetry that looked like they were in a hurry to install and get out of dodge. The tile flooring are uneven in the bathrooms and the tile shower has several spots where they didn’t remove the blue tape before applying the clear caulking. They didn’t turn on the hot water to the soak tub before they closed in the plumbing. They left popped up nails under the carpet that we constantly step on with bare feet (upstairs in the hallway). The last thing that I can think of right off the top of my head is they never came back and installed the second story dryer vent cover which is less than 12 inches from our actual dryer. No residual damages that we can tell, yet. It would be nice for a builder to do the right thing with a brand new construction home and actually sell a product that you could be proud of. ... More

Well I signed my contract on October 11, 2021 and did not close until April 21, 2023. So can I say it was a long process but eventually it happened. The financial portion was good plus I was a Mortgage Broker so I knew the documents needed. I’m very satisfied with the overall house and location. I know a lot had to do with the county of Dallas backloads but I had to pay a lot of money living month to month because the house was supposed to be completed on certain dates and that did not happen. But I appreciate all the phone calls and reassurance that it will happen, the completion.
