First home buying experience. We were very excited. Disappointed to find that our builder simply couldn't be bothered to hold the contractors to a high standard. His exact words when we pointed out the terrible tile work around our fireplace were, "our tile guys are B grade". We were told that we could have them re do it but it could be worse. We didn't have the option to delay closing. There were other things we didn't catch as well. Out of square door frames, cabinet doors not the same size with off color replacements. Everybody was very helpful

We were very pleased that the timing from purchase to move in was what they initially projected and pretty much flawless. We were pleased with our new home and the few concerns we had were handled in a relatively timely manner.

Love the home and my family loves it as well.

The sales people were great. The house/yard is pieced together with the cheapest materials and products possible, and evidently the cheapest labor. Everything will be "military grade" and that's not a good thing. Just enough to pass inspection is a good way to describe it. Keep your expectations extremely low and you won't be disappointed with the quality.

Garage and Driveway were finished badly.

Our situation was unique! And…..we lived in Wisconsin! Team KHove (Karen, Jim,Todd and one other) went to work to make sure we had smooth sailing from start to finish! It was humbling to be treated with courteous and respectful people again as customer service as a whole lately has been lacking! Our whole experience has been wonderful….

The property manager was super nice and very helpful. She listened to my needs and helped me get the perfect home for me and my family.

The buying experience was not too difficult. The end product is not up to the standards we expected. The paint is not the best and cannot be wiped clean. The flooring is nothing like what seems to have been promised or maybe all buyers were misled. The flooring is totally substandard. Throughout the living room and kitchen is inferior vinyl flooring that shows every nick and indentation once furniture is placed upon it. I believe we were all led (or misled) to believe that for the price Khov was charging, the flooring would be of a harder, more durable laminate plank flooring. That’s what should have been installed! The carpets are acceptable for the moment but not best quality. The sod sheets used for the lawn look terrible. I could go on but I think you get the drift. ... More

From the initial visit and meeting with the K. Hovnanian representative, Kristina, to our actual move in date, the process of selecting a home was stress free. Though new to the State of Texas, we are not first time home owners and we knew exactly what we wanted. The Khov rep stayed in contact with us and answered any and all of our questions throughout the process. We eventually came to know another person on the Khov team, Jacob, and he further explained anything having to do with the actual construction of the home. From our initial meeting to closing date our decision to live at Four Seasons in Charlottesville has been beyond satisfying. The people with whom we’ve met have been knowledgeable, professional and committed to making us happy purchasers. They were successful! We love our home, community & neighbors.

Fantastic home buying experience. Alan, the property manager, goes above and beyond to ensure the transition of new home to homeowner is as smooth as possible.

We are happy with our finished home; issues after close are not major and are addressed in a timely manner. But it was very stressful getting here. Our home was 3.5 months late, requiring that we find interim lodging and two moves, costing us over $10K. Our house closed on the last day that our rate lock( that we paid to get) was good for and we had so many delays that we did not trust that we would close before the rate expired. Also, It took me 2+ months of pleading to get the 12 foot wall that was 5 feet from the window side of my house to be redone with view fencing on the top half, restoring light into our house. These are not custom homes but the construction team would try to help make minor changes when asked, but they are under tight rules from the builder. The builder uses a lot of subcontractors for the various activities (stucco, electrical, cabinets, etc) and the subcontractors were of mixed reliability and quality. The lathe and plaster guys walked, leaving our home open to the rainy weather for 9 weeks…. Hopefully the mold that formed was adequately addressed. ... More

Highly recommend using Hovnanian for your next home.

New construction can cause delays but not only are the majority of owners living with horrible clay yards but owners who have been here since last year have horrible large clay patches and very undesirable type fragile looking so called grass installed .. on other hand homes not inhabited have the rocks and clay cleared grass already spread if there's not a qualified lawn care company being used refund the cost to each homeowner that wants to do it themselves

KHovnanian Homes has great sales people and that part of the experience is great. They are helpful, responsive, responsible, etc. Unfortunately, a lot of the experience falls off from there. Most importantly, the quality of craftsmanship is subpar and they have trained their PM's and warranty reps to talk a slick game to get inexperienced homeowners to accept VERY POOR quality workmanship everywhere they can get away with it. If you end up buying from KHov, be prepared to see some of the worst finish workmanship you've ever seen and be doubly prepared for their warranty guys to tell you that everything is "within tolerance" including 1" visible seems in drywall, drywall tape showing through crappy level 2 finish, curved walls, glooped on caulking and any other construction material they can pile on to cover up poor workmanship, You will also end up with damaged cabinets that they mark up with pens/touch up kits to cover up the damage their subs cause on EVERY job, you will spend months on your hands and knees trying to remove all of the construction materials that are stuck to your tiles as they NEVER cover their shoes when coming into your house to do finish work after your tile, carpets, etc. are all in. At the end of the day, they are a production company that cares about profits and not people. Just remember that going in and maybe you won't get your expectations up. ... More

First of all, my home was supposed to be completed in 6 months. It took them a year! The sales people are the worst! They never tell you the truth about the progress they're making and the updates they promise to provide you never get. They are very unresponsive. I would call and get no answer, I would send emails and either get no response or have to email multiple times before someone responds. There have been 4 different construction managers since they started the house and and you could never reach any of them. When I finally was able to close, at the final walk through the ceiling wall in the bathroom was buckling, the floor bathroom tile was 2 different colors, all the custom fixtures that i paid EXTRA for had paint all over them, the back door was dented up, the carpet had paint on it, some of the walls hadn't been sanded well yet painted anyway so the paint job was horrible, the base boards hadn't been calked, the wall tile wasn't level and had gaps in them, my expensive countertop was chipped up, and I could go on and on. They agreed to come back and fix some of the issues, but I have been in the house for months now and i'm STILL waiting on work to be done. If I had known then what I know now, I would have NEVER dealt with them. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT deal with K Hovnanian builders. ... More

K.HOV did an excellent job! We love our new home!

From the beginning to the end service has been prompt and excellent. Since we have closed the service has continued to be excellent!

Overall we had a good and professional experience however an incident occurred that delayed the closing that we were never in the loop off.

Sales consultant was very proficient. Convenient and cost effective environmental design. Materials are mid-level at the MIRs.

Great buying Experience. and Great sales team.
