Great communication b4 during and after construction

Blinds are falling off everything in the house is cheap shower starting to fall apart came to fix the door got ruined again cheap house for the price no dining room some windows can’t open big disappointment

Overall, I am neutral on my purchase. I was happy with my sales person, and my last construction manager. But I am very disappointed in the Khov corporate and the actual craftsmanship.

This is the second time I bought property from KH. And this time is not that smooth. My first sales this time is Paul, and he didn’t let us know KH will have new section new my first property, so he tried to sell me the old section in the old area. We put the deposit, and later we found out the material they use for that property is terrible. So we just wanna they change them, but they said that’s approved by the county. Then we met Damaris, she is great and show me the new section. That’s what we want at the first time. Later we tried to get back our deposit, but they said there is nothing wrong with that house. Then we complain to the sales manager Amanda, she was very helpless and what she did is just covered Paul. Finally, we cannot get back the deposit but we still bought from Damaris. Actually, this time the buying experience is not happy. So I won’t suggest K. Hovnanian Home to the people around who wanna buy the house. ... More

Still waiting on stuff from construction since we moved in! This is the worse experience EVER!!!!!

I’ve purchased multiple houses during 2021 and 2022 and the final home I received from K Hovnanian was the worst purchase ever. The materials used to build the home are extremely cheap and the finish product was junk. Cabinets wouldn’t align, contractors had forgotten to set up the plumbing die for second laundry, counter tops were in even and wouldn’t align either. Best advice, don’t buy from K Hovnanian. Try different avenues kick Richmond Homes.

Working with Joe and James was a pleasure

Do not use KHov as builders. They are absolutely terrible. From the sales agents not knowing what they are doing or selling to the “construction managers” being unresponsive to receiving an INCOMPLETE home!! It’s been 3 months since we closed and we still have an outstanding list of items that are not completed including missing shower doors!! Do not use, do your research go with a more reputable company. This one needs to be shut down.

For the most part was a good experience. Lisa was amazing and super kind she helped us design out perfect home and answer any questions and if she didn’t know the answer she found out. Ryan was also amazing and kept us updated weekly. We was sad when Ryan moved. Only complaint I have is when we moved in furnace wasn’t working and we let the builder know over and over told called the company to come fix it. I assume it was the hvac company slip up but regardless got to the point where I got it fixed. Also on of our plugs by the stove keeps tripping which isn’t safe and should been checked before since we wouldn’t of known during walk through. So have to go through home warranty on the issue we will se how that goes and don’t have to much hope on the 11 month Inspection but I hope I’m proved wrong! ... More

Overall a great experience with management and construction team

The accountants were great but I feel the workmanship was rushed. There is no reason why I should be repairing anything in a house that I have only lived in for a month.

This is my first home and I must say I was excited about it until I moved in and started noticing the materials they used.. The material are not good quality. They used cheap materials and just paint it and make it look good. My front door is already falling apart and some of the locks are are broken already. One thing for sure I DO NOT trust KH anymore. I’m telling you now K. Hovnanian® Homes! will NOT get a referral from me not until I get pay for my Frist referral. I referred a friend and I was supposed to get a referral compensation but instead they decided to give it to her agent. First thing it wasn’t her agent that referred her to KH it was me so why would they give her my compensation to the agent? ... More

The entire experience from start to finish was a very rocky road. I told my parents not to buy a house here because of it.

I was presented with the wrong community contract. I was told that I would be charged fees in addition to earnest money deposit if I backed out of the deal. I closed in September 2022 and at this time (January 5, 2023) I still don’t have two mirrors.

Too many issues with tile, doors, cabinets, sink, carpet for the home value, unfortunately not a good experience. Construction supervisor have been great taking care of too many issues

Great staff. Open communication throughout the process (minus the loan officer). They don’t take shortcuts. Would recommend to friends and family.

At the beginning of the buying process it was great, the sales person was very friendly and had great communication even after we signed the contract to purchase the home. The construction manager was also great throughout the building process and kept us up to date as he stated he would. We didnt hear from our sales person throughout the building process but just thought it was normal since there wasnt much to discuss since the house was being built. A couple of months before closing I come to find out that the sales rep was no longer employed and had been a month or so and no one had even reached out to me to notify me that I would be assigned a new rep until I tried to reach the sales rep and couldnt get a hold of them. I ended up walking into the sales office and come to find out that the rep was no longer there. After that the new rep Im pretty sure they were new at the company since most of my questions werent answered with confidence. I didnt hold that against them but just felt that I wasnt their customer. At closing we signed docs and headed back to the subdivision to pick up our keys which were given to us by the construction manager and that was pretty much it. I wasnt aware that an alarm system was included with our hoa fee and pretty much paid for another alarm company to come in and activate service until later on I found out I pretty much paid for a service in which was already included in the hoa fee due to no communication from a sales rep. I am pretty sure if my initial sales rep wouldnt have left the company the overall experience would have been way better however I understand things happen and that was out of my control but the way the handover happened was just something I was not happy with. ... never again I will purchase with this builder

We were out of state buyers so we were unable to check on our house regularly. We trusted the process and unfortunately we were very disappointed in the final product. The builder rushed to get our home finished and sold. This resulted in our house missing insulation in attic/ceiling, gas not hooked up to our stove, cracks in our cabinets, chipped tiles throughout the house, damaged doors, damaged driveway, broken shower door, and the list goes on. You also have to be ok with a level 2 finish which just gives them an excuse for a poor mudding job throughout the house. Overall we have a beautiful home but 3 months later we are still dealing with getting all these issues fixed. ... More

Our building manager forgot all about us the moment he gave us the keys..moved in Sept 2022 and still no grade approval no explanation no follow up.

From the buying to moving in process, the "dream" that is sold is opposite of the reality. The realtors are fantastic, but their hands are tied because they are slave to construction. The construction managers are great, but they tell you what you want to hear, and are slave to the trades. The quality and workmanship that is sold, based on the model, is opposite of what the final product of the home actually is. For a $500,000+ home, the quality and workmanship is near half. And, the time frame given for move-in is grossly underestimated. Since moving in, less than 3 months ago, I have had a massive plumbing leak that will, when said and done, have taken close to two months to resolve, my heat has stopped working, my brand-new dishwasher broke, 4 doorhandles have fallen off, and the trim/paint in the house is still appallingly below acceptable level. This is not a dream home and the top end of my budget, but a money pit that has hogged up my mental, physical, and emotional health. Am I being overly dramatic? Ask anyone else in my neighborhood!!!! You will hear the same nightmare over and over again!!! ... More
