None of the issues identified during the walkthrough a week before closing have been addressed . Most of these issues are still not resolved 2 months after closing . Wish atleast a few were addressed

Very untimely response to issues. Three months after close we are still dealing with craftsmanship issues that have been unresolved.

Company rushed closing date to 9/20/22 was originally told it would be end of month. Final inspection garage foundation was not level, contractor poured additional concrete which did not match nor level garage prior to closing was told epoxy would be poured to complete correct the issue with the garage. That was promised 9/16, as of today still not complete. Dishwasher also not working as of 9/16/22, currently still not level and shifts to the left after every complete cycle. Pull out trash can day one jumped off track, was supposedly corrected, still does not open and close smoothly. Front and side door entry to the garage must be slammed to shut. We love our new home, however these issues definitely negatively impact and take away from what should be a wonderful experience. ... More

The sales and construction teams provided stellar support. From the sales rep Russ to the construction team David, Jamie and Mike. All were terrific. Jamie is the Design Center provided expert advice as well. I would highly recommend K Hovnanian Homes!

My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome of the build. Sylvia has been excellent from the beginning especially with communication. The onsite construction management team with David had been great through the process, answering our questions and concerns along the way. They were very prompt in resolving any issues during the final walk-through and also during the follow up. We're enjoying the home and look forward to the completion of the rest of the amenities.

I had an amazing experience overall. Especially Damaris and Mauricio made me feel at home. They ensured that everything was done and completed on time. And whenever I called the answered and answered all my questions appropriately. What was amazing was the fact that I had easy access to them whenever I had concerns or any worries.

Our experience with the KHov sales team was absolutely amazing! Our sales associate Danielle was phenomenal. She was extremely attentive and compassionate through the highs and lows of our build journey. Jake was also really great! He and Danielle went above and beyond to ensure our closing date. All of their efforts made us feel truly valued. 5 star experience!

It’s a wonderful experience with KHov throughout home construction process. Keeping us up to date till the home closing.Response to service requests is also great.

There’s a glitch here and there at my new house but as soon as I report it ., the response was very quick ., great costumer service ., satisfied with the service !! Thank you

We have been in our new home just over 4 weeks and we could not be happier. Becky (Sales) and Nathan (Construction) were awesome during the process and kept us informed as well as helped us when options and changes came up. Yes, not everything goes perfectly during construction but as these typical issues were found, they were explained and solved efficiently. We appreciated that very much and actually enjoyed the process. As a Real Estate Appraiser, I have worked with many builders and K. Hovnanian is among the top builder experiences.

I had no idea I would be able to purchase a new home until speaking with K. Hovnanian. They said yes and made the process easy. Step by step and walked with my family the entire time. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Overall I am very happy with my home. The construction process was generally smooth, although at times it felt like other homes were moving at a much faster pace. For example, nearly every home on the street had windows but mine sat for about 2 months with no windows. The construction manager of my build changed several times but that didn't seem to really slow things down. My biggest complaint is that I felt very pressured into using the in house lender. I ultimately went with an outside lender but I had to jump through hoops to do it. Not only was the in house lender at a much higher rate, they wouldn't lock without me paying upfront, non refundable fees that didn't get credited at closing. Also, the in house lender almost never reached out to me to discuss options. I constantly had to reach out. It never seemed like she was looking out for me - the borrower - which she should have been. The $7500 credit incentive didn't make up for all those things. ... More

My wife and I discover this community earlier this year and we loved their model houses. It only took one visit, and we decided the type of the home that we wanted because the Khovnanian homes were bigger with extra rooms compared to all the other houses that we visited before. Our sales consultant Reggie was extremely helpful during the whole process, and responded to our questions and concerns everytime, even on his days off. Now, we live in our new house for a month already and the whole family loves it. Our loft is spacious and that's where we spend most of family time ans activities. home buying experience with Khov is very easy and smooth. we have bought a khov home before this and we are satisfied as before with out experience.

Overall it was fine but closing experience was bad as no one called the day of closing & also the key handover experience was pathetic . The initial sales cycle was great but didn’t feel the same enthusiasm during Golden key handover & felt like we were just ignored after closing.

We had a really good experience on the sales side of things, and a good experience on the construction side. UNTIL we decided not to use the preferred lender (because they weren’t able to match other’s rates), then everything went south. Communication drop off and didn’t finish anything from the final week walkthrough until the move in date. After move in, took 3 weeks to just get our outlet covers in the kitchen fastened to the wall. Felt like construction just left a lot of their mess for warranty and it’s not warranty’s fault.

We were originally told our home would take 5-8 months. It took 15. That in itself was bad information but things happen. The most impactful and memorable experience was the lack of communication. We had no idea what was going on and always had to be the ones to reach out for information. When we finally did get some communication it was always initiated by our salesperson not the construction manager. There were too many delays. I would never recommend building a house using KHov.

We are 1st time homebuyers and Russell was great to work with. He was very knowledgeable about the homebuilt program we used and he kept us up to date with all stages of the building. I will definitely recommend KHov to family and friends. Our home is beautiful.

The people involved with the process were Excellent, I am disappointed with the craftsmanship of the materials we chose K Hov because of the excellent reputation but the products and materials used I felt could of been better.

The house we purchased was build almost perfect. The design is very good for the price we paid for for it. My only complain is why is the garage door opener(motor) is optional. Other than this, I’m happy with you guys. TY

Several issues we are not very happy with: - Windows, while having issues with the locks we were told if you leave the windows open for several hours you might have problems with the plastic locks. They will shift and get out of shape. We have lots of windows and in good weather we like to have them open. Never had this issue with good quality windows in any of my homes. So we have windows that we can look out of, but if you open them don’t expect the locks to work! Maybe you need to find a different supplier. -We have a home on the river, what we were told we could do by the river and what we are learning are very different. This probably would have made us make a different decision. -Electrical wiring, as a home workman with power tools, I just found out the garage is only provided with 15amp circuits. Most table saws etc need 20 amp. This may have been an option that I didn’t notice, but I have never seen this. This should be emphasized to new buyers as an option. Another example of cutting corners. Really how much would that have cost you, maybe $50 in materials, no difference in labor cost. -After being in the home now 30 days I continually see defects that I have not brought up, many minor, walls that are not square or plumb, paint issues that I should have mentioned, but to the point I want to make is using subcontractors is a very mixed bag, some are good, but after seeing how they perform I would say for the most part most just don’t care about their workmanship. -Bathrooms, you install towel bars but no hand towel bars. Just an example of how we feel you cut every corner $$$ wise. -We recently had our ceiling repaired in the kitchen/family room area. Your team was quick to respond and get people here to try to eliminate the issue with very visible drywall Seams in the ceiling. I was told it would never be perfect. I was told by another person who looked at a large area in our basement and he said he would expect the repair would be as good as that room. It’s NOT! The subcontractor tried one quick fix on a small area last Friday and it’s not any better. The room overall is improved but there are still two seams full length of room that are not good. They were here on the 21st, it’s now the 25th and no one has followed up. Am I happy???? -Annoyance- while part of house is natural gas, and we opted for a gas stove and fireplace and the water heater is gas (No option). We wanted a gas line for the clothes dryer, not an option. Our home floor plan to distance is about 3 feet! We called 3 different certified plumbers and they quoted $2200 to $2900. Not Hovanians fault, but here again pinching the penny it’s cheaper to run a electrical line than a gas line, even though it’s widely known gas dryers are cheaper to operate and more efficient. -Would I recommend your homes to someone else? Only if they fully investigated the market and were made aware of some of the issues I mentioned, and definitely hire an independent inspector to not only inspect the home while being built but to survey the plans and discuss with the buyer.
