Our home build went very smoothly from the initial discussions with Lacey and all the way through the build process with Jeff. There were minor supply delays at times but they kept working in other areas and we’re able to keep the build process moving forward. We actually finished 2-3 weeks sooner than we initially thought. Excellent process all around, we are more than happy in our new home and would recommend it to friends/family in the future!

The Sales Team was excellent, however the Building Team fell far short. Poor workmanship, major defects and pushback from them after I paid for my home and asked to get everything completed and repaired. VERY disappointing!

I was excited to choose K. Hovnanian as a builder for my next home. The reviews received from colleagues and friends were great. However, my experience was not the same. After completing the Inspection, there were over 30 pages of issues ranging in severity of replacing 2 of 3 thermostats, rewiring upstairs due to HVAC system installation issues, builder forgot to order all appliances (microwave and dishwasher) failure to install garbage disposal, loose shingles, and severe cracks in the garage, front porch and back patio, no grout in bathroom tiles causing several to be replaced, failure to install plumbing in master bathroom under sinks, and 2 broken exhaust fans, holes in sheetrock in garage that was taped and painted over. Luckily on the final day of walkthrough while standing in the garage with the builder, the wind blew - exposing the holes. The top railing system became dislodged from the wall while the builder's realtor was walking through the home. After realizing the appliances were on backorder, the builder installed a broken GE dishwasher. Unfortunately, I did not request or pay for a 3rd inspection to ensure the dishwasher was working properly. After discovering the dishwasher was in fact broken, I called the builder who came by and agreed but informed that since it was after closing, I must go through the warranty department at GE. To date, the dishwasher still does not work, and that model is on back order until October 7, 2022. I have a brand-new K, Hovnanian home that is not fully functional. These issues also caused the home to not appraise at the sales price! After sharing my experience with the same colleagues, I learned that the Seasoned Project Managers have moved to a new neighborhood to begin construction. Understanding that everyone does not have the same work ethic or level of standards, has caused me to not recommend K. Hovnanian to anyone and warn all others that its business model is not the same so proceed with caution. ... More

KHOV made the process of buying a home very easy. Being a young, first time homeowner, they were able to assist and answer any questions I had. Communication was made easy as they were responsive via text or email

The Cove in Asbury Park was a once in a lifetime opportunity to invest in a great new property at an amazing location. When we went to contract the construction timeline of less than 12 months seemed a bit aggressive, but we were excited of the possibility. With only a few setbacks we were able to close at the end of July 2022. Id say this is where things got frustrating. The closing was rushed. The house was not finished, and the builder wanted us to close even with a long punch list. Many of the finishes were slopy and rushed. The stairs needed to be stained multiple times, the moldings were not finished, stains on the vinyl floors that I still cannot remove. As this is a second home it is frustrating that each time, we are here we discover something new that was not installed or completed correctly. I wish the builder took the time to look over the fine details once they got to 99%. When your spending money on a new build its frustrating to be handed over to the warranty department and having to settle with the fact some things wont get fixed. I wish KHov would not rush the closings and have someone responsible for the small details.. these details can really make a difference. ... More

A very sad experience don’t get me wrong the home is nice but, would not say very nice. They cut corners just about everywhere, from the last home I bought in Texas these people didn't throw in a lot of the upgrades that the other home did for the price you paid. There were issues from the start with almost all involved. You could not pick out anything due to COVID and this day and age, everything is either late or on a timeline and all depends on when they get items in for your house. The quality of workmanship was poor if any of these sub-contractors worked for me, they would be out of a job, there is no accountability whatsoever for anything that's done incorrectly or poorly. There aren’t very good communications between all parties at all I felt like I was running around in circles with trying to figure out who needed what and who wanted information they didn't talk to each other from the sales office to corporate. At one point a Carmen was very rude to me in an email, and I called her out on it. Then when I asked to be put in contact with her supervisor, which I had to go through the sales office lady just to get the name of her supervisor, or someone that I should contact about her rudeness. I got some by the name of Kimmie who tried to smooth things over but was just a rude as the person I was calling to complain about no one wanted me to talk to a higher up person, not even the sales lady Devra would share information about higher up's names or telephone numbers. It was like secret information that nobody wanted to put out. One of the funniest things that I found is when the home was going through the framing stage, I asked about sprinklers in the front yard the sales office lady told me it was too late for sprinklers, while they hadn't even broke ground on the landscaping so how could it have been too late to choose sprinklers for your front yard. For the initial walk-through we must've went through about two roles of blue tape that's how poor workmanship and quality was. Even though the construction manager was there every day she did a decent job but every time I brought up subcontractors, he just shook his head and said I know. He worked pretty hard on getting the first set of blue tape items completed, we still have quite a few on our cabinets need to be taken care of. Now thank goodness I had a home inspector general walk-through prior to me buying the house there was several things he found. A couple of big items were in the roof the flashing on a portion of the roof left a big gap that you could see inside the attic and from inside the attic outside. It seemed like nobody followed up and did their inspections like they should have when they were putting the roof on. It actually rained all the flashing was missing causing some of the water to get in the attic. Thank God I stayed persistent on them so they could get it fixed if I didn't it probably never would've gotten fixed. They have even painted our shutters on the outside of her home the wrong colors, if I went to said anything to the sales office, they probably would've left them the wrong color. I wonder if anybody was even looking at the plans when it came time to build in the home. They said they're going to fix them; we'll see how long that takes. I can go on and on about issues, from the dying grass, to how they laid the sod, and buried pieces of metal and debris underneath the lawn. There's so many to list it just would take forever. They want to nickel and dime you for everything heart of the gutter in the front yard leaks into the landscaping the landscapers should've booted up the drainpipes to fit the downspout so it will leak out they wanted to charge me $180 for a little piece of metal to divert the water into the gutter. Why should I have to pay hundred and $180 to fix their mistake. The heater didn't work in the house, and they can figure out why, I haven't had to use it yet, but they say it's been fixed will soon find out. I did actually have a leak in my garage, and it was running down the inside of the sheet rock again another piece of flashing that had not worked or that they missed. Now I'm waiting for them to come out and tear the wet sheet rock down and replace it in my garage. But to them it's not a rush job it's whenever they get around to it or the sheet rockers can be in the neighborhood. Even though the construction manager tries to communicate he still doesn't know when subcontractors is can be there to fix things, no accountability again his appointment should be made met and kept and they should be held accountable if they miss their appointment. If you're going to schedule something they need to be there. They should be delaying on getting wet sheet rock removed and new sheet rock up. Again, the construction manager did a good job of trying to get things done, he kept telling me that his pay depended on how I rated him, Nomo I think is really trying to get things done and do a professional job but is being held up by others involved. There was this person name Cary who when I first met thought would be a great person that would be helping with a lot of items, he was Nomo's boss, but I guess he failed also he's just as bad as the rest no accountability and not a very pushy person to wanting to get things done in a timely fashion. That's one thing that I noticed none of these people are a big hurry to get things done for you as a customer when you spend this much money on a home. Again, I feel that they cut corners just about everywhere. I'm sure within the year I'll find more issues, now I understand homes have issues, but it seemed like every time I turn around there's something else. I highly doubt it, but I hope that management reaches out to me, they need to hear about the people that are building their homes, selling their homes, and working with you as a customer to closure home. Trisha, Marcus, and Dustin were great, oh and Brandon too. Couldn’t have asked for a better team. The build went according to time with only a slight delay( which was to be expected). There were no misunderstandings and everything was clearly explained. Only issue came in the loan area as the interest rates began to rise ( and we asked if there was something we could do about it) we were not told we could lock in our rate 220 days before closing, until we were at 90 days and and rates had already jumped. This failure added about $400 to our mortgage payments. This is the only thing that bothered us the the entire process. ... More

My experience working with Alex has been great. He was very knowledgeable and thorough with the entire home building process. He highlighted many great points and was able to answer every question that was given to him. Any issue that I saw, he immediately responded to it and addressed it. Overall, this has been a great experience.

We had a great experience with KHov during our home buying process and even after! Highly recommend.

I'm super happy with my new home . I give lots of thanks Mrs . Doddie and Mr Robert! To make my dream come true. They're very professional and efficient. They helped me from begging to the end of this process. I can't say the same thing with knovian mortgage company. I will recommend to other buyers not go with the knovian mortgage! Mr Carson! And Mr Kevin gave me hard time to make this possible. They are not professional and serious people about approved mortgage. By the way I'm super super happy with Mrs Doddie and Mr Robert . they really help me all the time.

The process was smooth and easy. Quick response to any issues we had. Construction manager very personable and helpful. Overall great experience.

Great experience overall, we are happy with the quality of the property and the overall experience was awesome. The sales person, construction manager and everyone else involved in the process were very professional and helpful.

Not able to lock in the mortgage rates the day I put deposit. Other builders in the area will let you do it. End up increasing my payment by $300. Many unresolved issues with the home. Worker damaging my deck by going in and out with material and dirty work boots. Also Khov telling me that the lawn wasn’t the responsibility. The lawn was full of weeds and corn plants plus bare spots the day of the closing.

We waited two weeks short of a year for this home to be built. We were told that was due to supply issues and staffing problems. Once the home was ready and we conducted the closing walk through, we discovered many kitchen cabinet issues. We were told that the cabinet company would contact us so that they could correct the issues. It has been 6 plus weeks and they have still not contacted us. Because of that, we are unable to move our kitchen supplies in fully. VERY FRUSTRATING!

We enjoy our home but the process of closing was pretty bad honestly. We understood there would be hiccups along the way for a new build but there were a lot of preventable mistakes. There was especially poor communication between different members of the team to us. For example, our close date got changed but didn't get updated officially so closing had to be delayed. And between the builder, scheduling office, title company and mortgage company everyone kept pointing a finger of whose fault it was. I would rather have had KHOV take initiative more during the process and help solve problems rather than point fingers. I will say, the bright spot during the process was Shawn who actually communicated with me well and problem solved efficiently. Craftmanship has been average at best. They do try to fix things though with their 1 year warranty ... More

I had a great home buying experience working with Fred and Justin. Fred was extremely helpful throughout the homebuying process and always was able to answer my questions or get me an answer promptly. In addition, since we have closed Jordan has been extremely helpful with any issues with the home.

Everyone was great from Lisa at the Models of Townhouses to the finance department. My only issue was with the Builder. Not those who do the work but the overseeing 'boss'. He unnecessarily sent our moving PODS away just because a paint truck was parked in front of our drive way. I understand they were 'touching up' some things THEY MISSED BUT TO PUNISH MY FAMILY FROM HAVING THEIR BEDS WAS UNNECESSARY! I told his worker yet he has yet to address me.

KHov has great people and beautiful homes.

I admire how my realtor was on time with all the replies and how she helped me out throughout the entire process. The builder was always available to reach through text and emails or calls and made sure the house was upto my expectations. there were minor issues found in and around the house, i believe it is due to the fact of the house settling in since it's a new built.

It was a really great smooth experience! As a first time home buyers I felt super assisted through the process. It can be scary but KHOV made it fun and smooth. Every continues to be helpful even after purchasing the home which shows y’all really care! :)

Great company to work with. Awesome designs and affordable plans. Amazing customer service and quick responsiveness for any issues or help when needed. Chad our Project Manager has been a pleasure to work with who is always available to answer any questions, provide timely updates and keep us in loop for any vendor follow ups. Very happy to select them for my happy future.

We are enjoying our beautiful home. There have been some issues with Air conditioning, paint coming off the walls, toilet backing up. Fortunately they were all resolved quickly by the service team. I do wish they would have used a latex paint inside the home so I could easily clean the walls.

Very very poor quality and construction. Not able to settle down because of repairs after repairs .

Marcus was fabulous, not only staying in touch weekly, but also with the couple of issues we had after closing with gas leak and dry wall. also very pleased with Dustin, checking back and answering any questions we had.

We purchased our home approximately 6 weeks ago, and we are still struggling to address issues that were noted during walkthroughs months in advance of the home sale. The responsiveness of the team has been slow, and has led to significant frustrations during an already stressful moving period. Each individual that we've worked with has been pleasant and understanding, but the team as a whole has been a bit of a let-down.
