K. Hovnanian® Homes Reviews

Allison in sales and Marcus construction supervisor were great to work with. They kept us informed every step of the way and answered any questions very quickly and in detail

Smooth and easy. The staff was very courteous and professional.

The overall sales experience was very good and your team did an outstanding job answering any questions and helped solve any issues with the exception of repairs. I have two minor repairs that were reported in the beginning of April and am still waiting for the repair to happen. That is unacceptable.

Our build with Khov was probably a good $75,000 less than comparable builds in our neighborhood by other builders...yet we received the same quality house as those (great materials, fixtures, paneled doors, etc). Perhaps there are a few less "bells and whistles" (not 8' interior doors, no coffers/crown molding), but we would make the same decision for the value every time. Amazing, amazing team from Todd in sales, to Jeff who built and Skai in warranty. Each has gone above and beyond whenever we have called on them, and you really feel valued as a member of the Khov family.

Donna and Chris were fantastic from start to finish. I never felt like my issues weren’t being handled. Communication was always on point.

Responsiveness and attention to detail.

Helen and TJ were great went above and beyond and so did Destiny at the design studio. Thanks again team!

Mike in sales made us feel at home here from the first day we met. The crew that made this build happen really care about their work. We are very happy in our new home.

Too many corners cut on materials for a fairly high priced home.

Zero craftsmanship, we have a big punch list of items that they haven’t fixed yet. their craftsmanship is really poor. they don’t reply to any of your emails. just a bad deal for your $$$

The team and Khoh , especially Carmel went out of the way to help make our home buying experience stellar.

The team is very responsive to my requests to fix any defects. The defects &imperfections are understandable since we are experiencing unprecedented labor shortage and supply chain issues

Had a good experience with the team from day one. They were willing to assist in any concerns we had which were addressed in a prompt manner.

We chose Summit Pointe by KHOV due to it's location and initial pricing. The neighborhood is very nice and it's proximity to most amenities makes this location a very ideal spot. The whole buying process felt very rushed. Upon signing the sales contract, NO edits or revisions were allowed. Even small things such as moving an ethernet port from one room to another was not allowed. KHOV needs to realize that owner plans could potentially change after signing the contract. To be clear, we wanted some changes that were not structural to be implemented literally days after signing our contract. We understand that it's not feasible for design changes to occur weeks or months into the construction phases. The interior of the house seems to be very well built. We noticed that whoever designed the electrical outlets and switches did not consider room layout at all. Light switches are often tucked away behind doors, outlets are behind major furniture such as bed frames and certain light switches make no sense, especially in the kitchen. Why are the island light switches placed at the furthest point in the kitchen? The most glaring deficiency that many homeowners have complained about is the sad excuse of a driveway that leads to the garage. Some houses were optioned with 3 car garages. It is absolutely impossible to utilize the 3rd bay without absolutely destroying your lawn. There is plenty of room to pour a double wide driveway that would allow homeowners to park adequately without risk of damaging the fresh sod. Overall the house and location is desirable as the development is rapidly growing. Just be prepared for the typical new construction headaches. We were promised a 5 month delivery, but settled eventually at 9 months. ... More

Builder could not oversee the work of there sub contractors. Very poor workmanship and lots of wasted time and money fixing problems and damage to finished work. Builder management changed 6 times during building process and had no accountability

One's of the best in Houston area

During our first few days in the home we noticed we were sweating more than normal while performing light duty chores and had trouble sleeping at night. Our towels would still be wet 24 hours after showering when hung up to dry. Items from the fridge would sweat immediately once taken out. We put in a service ticket with the warranty group during the first week and after a month we still have no answer to what the problem is. We have been running a dehumidifier 24/7 to keep moisture levels below 65% and every time it shuts off for more than a couple hours the humidity level starts going up. The HVAC group has come out about once a week and made minimal changes with no positive results. This experience has definitely spoiled the excitement of buying a new home. ... More

Until you actually live in a home for a while, you don’t notice all of the issues that escape you on your initial visit. Walls were not properly prepped prior to painting. I use blue tape so as not to put marks on the wall itself. When tape is removed the paint comes with it. Painters were sloppy while around trim work (paint on floor). Front door casing not level which allows light and air in. Cheap vinyl flooring. Cracks in ceiling where tape is coming loose. Little things like this annoy me because it appears there is no pride in what is produced and supervised.

Brandi, Wyatt, and John made our experience INCREDIBLE. We had reservations because of horror stories we heard from friends about building. Khovnanian is an absolutely amazing company, thanks in large part to people like those 3!

Love working with Erica from the moment I signed the contract till the very end she made sure I was aware of everything. She was by far the most caring person.

I had a wonderful experience with K. Hovnanian® Homes. Everyone was very responsive and communicated updates in a timely manner. Thank you!

To start our salesperson did not promptly return calls about questions we had. She also told us the house came with 2 outside compressors for air conditioning. She was more inclined to give an answer the customer would want to hear than what the truth was. Our project supervisor, Troy came across to me as cocky and lay the blame on somebody else or had an excuse. The last thing that made the whole process terrible was the home builder charged us a large sum of money because the closing date was not communicated properly to anyone especially us. There is a lot more detail that can be shared with whoever cares but our overall experience was a disaster but when the builder holds all the cards at the end you either follow their instructions or forfeit a lot of money. Would never recommend this builder. Thanks ... More

Nick was our sales rep and he was amazing no complaints there very up front, keeps you updated with pictures and txt through the whole building process. However , the real issues are when it’s all done. You are scheduled to do an inspection and get things that need to be fixed addressed before closing and that does not happen at all. Lots of paint issues , had a huge concrete hole in the garage , cabinets have the corned messed up and they don’t know how to lay down caulk correctly what so ever. When the caulking issues was addressed I was told the following “ I need to lower my expectations because these houses are built for the common people that have no idea how construction works and I needed to inspect things from a 6ft distance to which if it looks good then than their is no issue with it”. This was their head builder in charge by the way. Grass was laid like crap, my whole backyard and front yard is not even leveled nicely like the Trophy houses in the community. Paint material used is of very poor quality that just touching it makes it go from white to grey (discoloration). They used a flat tone instead of a gloss paint. The texture in one of my bedroom’s ceiling is awful with poor taping and texture lines visible even at 6ft away! Fence around the property is so uneven and you can see many spots were they Didn’t nail it on to the support because the nails are fully exposed. ... More
