We moved from Charlotte NC here because we love the area. The transaction was horrible because of our sales rep its seem to be discriminatory practice on his part and as a representative of Khov. Overall Experience was saved to a three rating because of our Foreman would of been a zero.

Attention to details are lacking. We didn’t get the attention and service that we should have gotten from the initial sales team. We would have appreciated more attention to detail and flexibility on K Hov part. Later on we did get the attention we needed. Only after we had to call time and time again.

The home is livable, though there are many things that I will address moving forward as far as finishing trim, crooked sliding glass door, concrete work, and flooring unevenness. When paying top dollar for a home, it is expected that there is attention paid to detail by the builder. When we have reported issues, we have had a great experience with the maintenance folks.

The house is nice but has many issues that still need to be addressed. Some issues are minor and cosmetic, while others need immediate attention. The most significant problem stems from the electrical switches. Many don't work. While we understand that the middle switches are designed for ceiling fans that are not yet installed, there are others that just don't work at all.

The worst company and some company employees have no idea what they are doing and happening on site

Rushed to close when house wasn’t ready. Resulted in workers doing shoddy job on house due to unrealistic deadlines. Workers didn’t take pride in their work. Items left unfinished or damage caused was un-repaired. When workers returned to complete work or repairs, they only completed a part of the job & then left. We repeatedly had to file requests for the same repairs.

I found a significant lack of quality review of the work done in the building process. Specifically, the interior workmanship was less than adequate, Grout left smeared on the bottom edges of the tub and showers, paint drips not cleaned up on the floors and carpet, paint sloppy, and overall cleanliness at delivery was horrible. I'm still finding issues.

Get all pre closing issues in writing. Craftsmanship is not on par with price of home.

Nothing was done right. So many repairs needed from holes in walls. Doors splitting, whole house needed to be repainted. Cheap quality

Nothing has been completed in the Community as promised, amenities, pool, pickleball, etc.

We were originally told our home would take 5-8 months. It took 15. That in itself was bad information but things happen. The most impactful and memorable experience was the lack of communication. We had no idea what was going on and always had to be the ones to reach out for information. When we finally did get some communication it was always initiated by our salesperson not the construction manager. There were too many delays. I would never recommend building a house using KHov.

We were told the house would be completed in eight months. It actually took a year. When we arrived to do the final walk through there was no lock on the front door. The construction manager wasn’t aware that we were supposed to be closing that day and showed up an hour late after we called the sales manager to find him. The house still needed to be inspected. They pushed back closing a few hours to fix all the issues the inspector found. We were able to close. We have been spending the last two months fixing issues that we told the construction manager about at least three months before closing. ... More

Disappointed in selections process, in project management and in responsiveness.

Overall disappointed in the workmanship for the price that we paid.

This is the 3rd new construction home I have purchased (4th overall), but the first from KHovnanian, and the first in the south. This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had. The builder lied, strongly stretched the truth, or feigned ignorance about many different things; the house wasn't ready at closing; and I've spent three months going through the warranty department to get the house to the condition it should have been in when I bought it (not perfect by any means, but livable). Given what has already gone wrong, I'm certain more will go wrong, but the warranty department has at least assisted as much as possible in rectifying the issues I had at closing or since then. I am not happy with my experience or lack of quality work or any attention to detail on my home. If I wanted to put this much work into a home, I would have bought a resale. Whoever buys my home someday will get a great home, but that will be because of what I did to fix it and make it and not better and not because of how I purchased it. ... More

Your communication is the worst your customer service is terrible your craftsmanship for a &500k home is unacceptable

Through out process poor communication lack of updates. Repeated delays. Port quality workmanship. Cement problems, plumbing problems, siding problems, trim problems, paint and drywall problems floor problems, the list goes on. Everywhere I look something isn’t right. Disappointing. Frustrating. Now faced with being home for multiple appointments to correct what should have been identified prior to close! The only pleasant process was the mortgage process. Ben and Pete were communicative knowledgeable and available.

Quality of work was terrible. It felt like a giant prank being played on us. The amount of unnecessary emotional and mental stress this builder caused us was ridiculous. Poor craftsmanship, poor communication, poor response time to fix and address issues. The entire process felt like a fever dream.

My problem was an unfortunate lack of reality between when the house was supposed to be done and when it was actually done. 3 weeks in a hotel with a dog isn’t anyone’s idea of fun, especially not the dog.

Terrible experience with builder. Poor quality, terrible communication, no care or attentiveness. Entire process was almost a year late and finish product was below industry standard, build team couldn’t have cared less. Simply awful people to work with and awful experience.

From the buying to moving in process, the "dream" that is sold is opposite of the reality. The realtors are fantastic, but their hands are tied because they are slave to construction. The construction managers are great, but they tell you what you want to hear, and are slave to the trades. The quality and workmanship that is sold, based on the model, is opposite of what the final product of the home actually is. For a $500,000+ home, the quality and workmanship is near half. And, the time frame given for move-in is grossly underestimated. Since moving in, less than 3 months ago, I have had a massive plumbing leak that will, when said and done, have taken close to two months to resolve, my heat has stopped working, my brand-new dishwasher broke, 4 doorhandles have fallen off, and the trim/paint in the house is still appallingly below acceptable level. This is not a dream home and the top end of my budget, but a money pit that has hogged up my mental, physical, and emotional health. Am I being overly dramatic? Ask anyone else in my neighborhood!!!! Disappointing. When you put down money for a new home you don't expect it to be messy when you move in and to constantly fight to have the repairs completed.

I closed on my house 12/12/23. I told KHOV building rep 12/16/23 about a serious drainage problem in my yard. Once he saw the amount of standing water he told me he would send the grounds people that week he said the grade was bad. They never came. I put in a service ticket with KHOV. They sent the building reps superior out. He came out and said he would return with Owner of thier Landscaping company to look at it. A total conflict of interest but what could I do? They were a no show for the next three appointment. After telling him I needed a firm appointment and could not afford to wait another day at home he gave me the appt. They showed up with the superior and his superior, who told me he knew nothing about drainage. They blamed it on my fence and said Fence Company had to fix it. The owner of the Fence company came and clearly saw that the grade of the lawn was so wrong plus my yard was not draining. The Fence Co owner wrote a long detailed letter with photos for verification. They did nothing. When I contacted them again the said that they were told the issue had been resolved. After many, many efforts the head of homeowners Services scheduled 2 more appointentments to look at the yard which were rescheduled. When he and Landscaping company came out he said again it was the fence. Out of desperation I contacted the City for help. They sent out one of their drainage experts. He confirmed the drainage system wanted working and I was one of many with same problem. They contacted KHOV and next day the head of homeowners came back and told me that the company knew there was an issue with the drainage on my whole street. He said the Vice president of Home owners services was going to fix the Bur Issue and install enough drains to fix problem. I really don't know if this will be repaired. I haven't received any emails or correspondence confirming the company will fix this. This is a horrible company that just wants to finish Lakes at New Riverside so they can move on to the next 4 phased of their housing developments along New Riverside. ... More

The construction manager Zach was incompetent, lied constantly, didn’t care one bit! He was condescending, racist, belittling trades, disrespectful, did not manage the trade base. Didn’t complete many items on punch walk, (gas line needed to be moved and didn’t move it until day of closing. Lied so many times. EVERYTHING is the cheapest. Baseboards,doors,paint,toilets, cabinets,light fixtures. KHOV use the cheapest trades,cheapest materials and hand over a VERY sub par house. Why can’t they get things done FIRST TIME,instead of having items repaired after closing. The worst experience we have ever experienced!! Considered walking away on day of closing (which was delayed on the day of original closing date) Steve the salesperson also did not care about his “acquired” buyers from previous salesperson. Very condescending!! Management do not care apart from counting their money. No empathy, no compassion, no care!!! Treat buyers like numbers on the sales wall. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!! ...
