The quality and value of our new home is awesome. The grand room with the open concept is inviting for family. The subdivision is inviting and welcoming.

The homes here are beautiful, built strong and with great craftsmanship! It’s in a pretty quiet area of Angleton TX with pretty paved walking paths around sparkling ponds and has a great playground for the kids. The home buying process is one of no pressure and continuity from all the moving parts. There Sales Agent Veronica is the most welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful sales agent you’ll ever get the opportunity to work with, from loan options to design options and building updates she makes sure your taken care of throughout the entire process, she’s a true professional in her field and makes your feel at home from day one. We had a hard time deciding if we wanted to built or not and Tiffany in the office was so patient and full of information. Blaine was the Contractor Manager and he responded to all my messages quickly and made the process so much less stressful.

We are very pleased with our K.Hovnanian home. There are some issues that need to be addressed but they’re minor. Everyone we have worked with has been very helpful and easy to get ahold of.

This is my first time buying a brand new house. Was always older homes, I was very pleased with the project manager Mike. He went above and beyond helping with issues after the house was closed on. I had a few issues with the sales people, all I can say is make sure to read all the fine print. I sent my concerns to the builder about The sales part this but never heard back from them. As far as the work and quality of the home again I can’t say any bad things and only good things about the project manager. He really has a passion to make sure you love your new home. Thanks Mike!

For the most part, all was well until closing. As I was very clear to my salesperson that I would like a clear understanding of the process for closing. I was not clear about the process leading up to a day or two before closing. I was receiving multiple calls by multiple individuals about the closing date however closing dates had been changed by the builder on several occasions. When I needed an extended amount of time I was given no alternative but to pay an additional $3,700.00 upfront for days that I did not use. When I wrote a check, I was asked to give a cashier's check which was not stated in my contract and I had given a check for the earnest money. After closing my salesperson did not conclude our business with as much as a thank you card or a welcome to my new home package. Finally, the person at the closing (title company representative) gave me the Family and Friends Plan certificate with no explanation. We live in a new development and we currently have a home being built on either side of our brand new house. The people working on the houses have zero concern for the family living in the house next to where they are working, constantly picking up trash around our yard front and back, we have had our cable line destroyed, large chunks cut out of our front yard and a huge area of our side yard has been absolutely destroyed due to the builders not laying the gas line correctly and having to have it all dug up and replaced. When we have reported what is happening nothing is ever done about it.

electronic signing is nice but pagers fly by so fast you can't read completely

The quality of the home is just ok. Far away, it looks great, but there are definitely flaws. Tiles aren't even, our primary shower is very crooked and uneven, the tile flooring through out the house is uneven. You don't really notice it until you try to put something like a table on it and it wobbles because one part of the floor is higher. On the outside, there are wires and cables that stick out that we have to watch when we mow. The vent flap over the oven that leads to outside flaps continuously in the wind and it's very loud in the house and very annoying. Our dryer vent clogged up within the first few weeks of moving in and caused condensation to leak out of our dryer. Some of the corners in the house look like it was painted in a different paint color. The spout on the primary bath tub is crooked, points to the side instead of right in the center of the tub. A few design issues. Primary bathroom has only 2 5 in drawers so there is no storage in that bathroom. Kitchen cabinets open and hit the microwave causing wear and tear where it hits. Hall bath room is very small, door can barely close because of the toilet. Some of the patchwork on doors is very rough and scratchy. I would rather have gotten new doors since they were damaged while work was being done in the house. The yard is very uneven and the fence has gaps at the bottom that we will need to fill or cover before getting a dog. As far as buying again, I would but I would definitely look way closer. During the walk through, we were not able to blue tape anything ourselves. We had to tell the manager where to tape and it was just very awkward telling a grown man to crawl on the floor and tape tiles that were uneven. It would have been nice to tape it ourselves and take our time to really look at the house. There were also some upgrades that we wish would have had a better explanation. We wasted some money on upgrades that were not needed if the design center clerk would have understood what we wanted and knew how to explain them. ... More

When going through looking at the framing, noticed a lot of the studs were spliced together or has a secondary board braced next to it. Lots of bad cuts where joints had open gaps. Boards were splintered or cracked and were used with support instead of being replaced. Not the quality we were expecting.

My family was disappointed in the overall home buying experience with K. Hovnanian. There was constant miscommunications, lack of details, promises unkept, displeasure with the product from day 1 of the home buying process. If you do purchase a home through K. Hovnanian be sure to ask plenty of questions on the details of everything, don't assume anything, expect delays in the whole process. Bottom line: You are just another customer and they are going to try to spend the least amount of money and least amount of effort to complete your house.
