We enjoyed most of our experience with KHOV. There were some cons prior, in between, and after the build, but we’re glad they give that one year insurance.

We really do love the end result! We are thankful and excited about how beautiful it turned out, especially as this is our first home! We would like other newbies to know that they may miss out by just simply not knowing. We felt like we were not informed well enough on particulars about the house that we simply did not know were options. For instance, we were advised heavily on things like hose bib and outside outlet placement and decor upgrades however, we did not hear a thing about gutters and didn’t know to ask about it! The sales person and loan people are amazing!

There was some contract issues from the time of the contract being singed to when it was being built. I felt like I had to be an overseer throughout the build process to make sure I was getting what we signed for vs what was being built.

There are issues with our kitchen drawers. They wouldn’t close properly, leaving an inch gap on one side. The builder is trying to justify this. They are not acting in the best interest of their customers. I don’t trust their explanation. Also, there is a heavy pushback on the warranty items. In our backyard, the area near the foundation line is wet and feels like a quagmire even several days after it stopped raining. They are refusing to address this issue indicating that there are no standing water conditions. There is hardly any carpet padding. Overall, the quality of the materials is mediocre. The builder has done a poor job of ensuring that the ground is leveled before putting the sod. The lawn is full of ups and downs. I wouldn’t recommend this builder. There are hardly any architectural elements in the house. You would expect some nice architectural elements on a $500K home. They have quality checks, but it is a joke! ... More

Overall it is a satisfying journey with kHOV.

My interaction with the sales consultant, builder, designer, associated KHov partnerships were all pleasant as everyone was nice and responsive. My only concern and reason for a 4 star is the material/craftsmanship of the home as I’m starting to notice more flaws, not great materials and bad craftsmanship.

We still have problem with water leaks on the ceiling and some crack. We reported more than a month. Nobody comes to fix yet

I have been unable to get my air conditioning to work properly.been in touch with warranty dept .they have been really helpful .but also unable to get my air conditioning problem resolved.

The house overall is nice but some issues with certain aspects of the home with dented window sills which were flagged in the final walk thru. They tried to repair them once but didn’t really fix the issues and said that they won’t fix them again. Talking to neighbors they don’t have this issue.

Nick was our sales rep and he was amazing no complaints there very up front, keeps you updated with pictures and txt through the whole building process. However , the real issues are when it’s all done. You are scheduled to do an inspection and get things that need to be fixed addressed before closing and that does not happen at all. Lots of paint issues , had a huge concrete hole in the garage , cabinets have the corned messed up and they don’t know how to lay down caulk correctly what so ever. When the caulking issues was addressed I was told the following “ I need to lower my expectations because these houses are built for the common people that have no idea how construction works and I needed to inspect things from a 6ft distance to which if it looks good then than their is no issue with it”. This was their head builder in charge by the way. Grass was laid like crap, my whole backyard and front yard is not even leveled nicely like the Trophy houses in the community. Paint material used is of very poor quality that just touching it makes it go from white to grey (discoloration). They used a flat tone instead of a gloss paint. The texture in one of my bedroom’s ceiling is awful with poor taping and texture lines visible even at 6ft away! Fence around the property is so uneven and you can see many spots were they Didn’t nail it on to the support because the nails are fully exposed. ... More

While we appreciated our home buying journey, additional guidance tailored for first-time buyers could have enhanced our experience. As newcomers to the process, having more proactive clarifications from the company would be beneficial given the multitude of questions that arise. But we had an overall good experience. The team that was over our walk through were great!!

The experience with the challenges in the home building field had this process for a first time homebuyer very confusing and frustrating. The KHov team did ok with communicating the challenges, but could’ve done better.

The sales consultant was amazing . A far as the it took longer to close and it really created issues.

Warranty manager is great but the house is way over priced

Overall, prior to purchasing my home - working with the builder was a good experience. However, it wasn't until I moved in that I found miscellaneous items that should have been fixed prior to me seeing the home. For example, I have spots of white paint on my gray walls - in several different places in my home. Because they are small and towards the celing areas, I didnt notice it during my walk through, Once I moved in - I reported it and was told paint is not under warranty. I am asking for mistakes made to be corrected and I was told no. I encourage the buyers to go through the home with a flash light because there was a lot of sloppiness in the work performed. If you dont catch it prior to closing, it will be a challenge to have it corrected. ... More

Not satisfied with the overall experience. There was gas leakage and water leakage initially when they handed over the house. There are zero fans inside the house. Bathroom tiles are of not good quality.

Well I signed my contract on October 11, 2021 and did not close until April 21, 2023. So can I say it was a long process but eventually it happened. The financial portion was good plus I was a Mortgage Broker so I knew the documents needed. I’m very satisfied with the overall house and location. I know a lot had to do with the county of Dallas backloads but I had to pay a lot of money living month to month because the house was supposed to be completed on certain dates and that did not happen. But I appreciate all the phone calls and reassurance that it will happen, the completion.

Our salesmen Beau was dishonest and told us multiple inaccuracies about of Spec home. Promised a closing date that could not be met and multiple changes to our plans with zero communication. Our builder Jake was the main reason we decided to finalize our purchase. He was upfront with us on the actual timeline for completion. He communicated with us daily when issues arose and ensured we were comfortable with the home. Couldn’t be happier with Jake and Aaron finishing our home.

The overall experience of buying our house was awesome . The staff was very professional and personable . They definitely listened to what our needs were.

Garage and Driveway were finished badly.

Overall it was fine but closing experience was bad as no one called the day of closing & also the key handover experience was pathetic . The initial sales cycle was great but didn’t feel the same enthusiasm during Golden key handover & felt like we were just ignored after closing.

Personally, I went with Khov because I did not want to get in a “bidding war” with a pre owned house and because I felt that the price was close to what I was wanting. As mentioned in my title this was by first time buying a home. Personally I felt like there wasn’t any guidance. The seller just wanted to sell, the builder just wanted to finish up his build, and the mortgage person just wanted me to go through them. There was no clear communication to me as to “what was next” in the process. I felt like everyone just wanted to make their money and leave. I don’t want to get into details on everything, but in some cases there were unnecessary remarks/confrontation. I truly felt like things could of been better. At I felt like I was out in the dark on some things. But maybe this is the normal home buying experience and I am just unaware of it. ... More

First never use Khov’s lender, you will see the reason why they give you incentives to use them, they are very incompetent. Home quality has reduced compared to when Khov’s integrity mattered to them. Everything in the home looks and feels cheap!

KHov plans are good and priced reasonably compared to other builders. Elevations could could be better though. Weekly updates are very good for buyers specially first time buyers. KHov did not increase prices after signing like some other builders. Response to escalations is very good. No flexibility to make changes after signing. Buyers can only choose from a designer package. No ala carte. Sales staff knowledge is questionable. Turn around time to fix issues raised by buyer should be improved. Construction quality is down.
