Overall, the experience was pleasant. Everyone was professional and always helpful. However, the deign center could have helped us with suggestions and advice on the house, because we conducted the meeting over video. The woman who was in charge of the design portion wasn’t much help honestly. Things like fans, lighting, and kitchen lights, and other upgrades were not mentioned. Second of all, we were never told about the backyard grass is an upgrade. That was quite inconvenient and so we had to call another company to get the grass installed. Lastly, we’re still waiting for the gutter to be fixed. Just waiting for rain so you guys can see the leak. 9/10 ... More

Great place to buy a home the staff was great and the construction manager was outstanding. I am recommending this place to all my friends and family.

I really did not enjoy this process. Sales rep told us the "delete arches" was to remove the indented areas on walls where art is hung. We paid extra for that. At the initial construction meeting they told us no, that is for the arch's in the kitchen instead of squared off entries. Sales rep told us that is a structural change and we couldn't change it, even though it was her mistake. I don't know how that is structural, but okay. Overall, I felt like it was me against everyone. I had to fight my battles with the construction guys besides maybe 2 or 3 calls from sales rep asking if there is anything she needs to address prior to the Monday construction meeting. I should of hired an inspector from day one that inspected every step of the home. They told me there is a 3rd party inspector, but there is probably a conflict of interest there. I hired my own inspector and he found a ton of issues that weren't noted by the inspector. Ceiling joist were spread too far apart I'm thinking 19.5 and s/b 16. Support beam in master was a 2x8 instead of 2x12. Windows were not taped properly, some windows had siding and framing put on without tape. I was told they fixed it, they just taped over the siding and put framing back on. Inspector had to take the framing off to show it was taped wrong. They eventually fixed it after leaving it uncovered for weeks. In addition the black home wrap was ripped and it was just covered up with the framing around the windows, it was finally fixed. I had a floor plug in my living room, that after the foundation was poured, was not there. I asked about it and was told that it is just under the service so they could chip out the concrete. I told them I don't want them drilling into the foundation so if you don't find it then forget about it, long story short, they couldn't find it, so they drilled out the foundation and hit a post tension cable. Engineering company had to be called in to brace it and the foundation was filled. They found the floor outlet eventually. I may be missing some things but overall the construction process was a bad experience, I'm sure for both parties because I was constantly pointing things out. A big problem I had was I feel like I wasn't taken seriously until I brought in an inspector. I would meet with the construction manager and we would go over things, he wouldn't write one word down. It wasn't until I started putting things in emails that things started getting addressed. We eventually met with the builder, inspector, and myself. There was definitely some tension and the builder did not like that the inspector was pointing out mistakes. I have a gas line and electricity that could have gone along my fence line, but instead they ran it in the backyard that limits what I can use the area for. When I mentioned I bought the premium lot cause we wanted to do a pool, I was told there still plenty of room to do whatever I want. The gas runs a foot off the side of the house and straight back to the back fence. I don't know that this is a KHOV issue, but maybe it is. That leads into the trust factor. Before I brought in an inspector, I was told how great everything is going and was assured everything was done right, and I didn't know cause I'm not a home builder. My inspector came in and started showing me things that were done wrong and I felt like I couldn't trust anyone anymore, so I questioned everything. My biggest regret was not having an inspector day 1, he came in after framing started. He is a construction manager for another home builder and there were some things that he was stunned by the lack of quality for the cost of the home. After move in, everything has been good except some A/C issues. They had to replace the compressor on my A/C cause it wasn't working during the peak 100 degree whether, it got hot, but that isn't KHOVs fault. The A/C people have come out a few more times, KHOV team was great in getting A/C out for us. The front of our house is always 3 degrees warmer than the rest of the house, but that is apparently within what it should be. Even though the thermostat is on 73 at 4 A.M the front bedroom is still 76 and this is a single story 2200 square foot house. For the most part, everyone has been great after the move in. Only issues was some paint splatted on the floor that I asked the best way to remove, I was told not to worry and they would send someone to clean it up. It took over a month to finally get it done, which is why I'm finally writing this review. I understand people are busy so this isn't an issue. I'll add that I know the inspector was pointing out every issue he could find about everything. There were more things that I discussed with him that I told him were not a big deal. Maybe some of the things that we did press on were normal and just part of the process. I hated the experience, it was very stressful. I do enjoy the fact that I feel like I got a home a cut above the others because I had the inspector. K Hovananian homes are in a class way better than other builders. Professional customer service throughout the whole process of the build. K Hovananian homes are manufactured with tons of superb craftsmanship. After the closing date customer service is what matters the most to a home buyer. I would definitely recommend K Hovananian homes to any serious buyer.

By far the best buying experience we've ever had, so much so that we even referred my sister who also bought a house in the same subdivision! I cannot speak highly enough for Susan, our sales agent, Alan and Roger who helped with the construction. The house is very sound, quiet, the experience was a breeze, and the overall enthusiasm from the team was great. Everyone that has seen our home has had nothing but praises, and we could not be happier. However, I do have 1 complaint, and that is with the finishing and use of finishing materials. Towards the end, all of the touch up work, finishing, trim, paint were clearly very rushed. The quality of workmanship is extremely poor with lots of areas needing touch ups, broken/chipped tiles, one of the stair railings shaking a lot, almost noen of the spindles are flush with the base of the stairs leaving a significant gap, and almost every single piece of trim/moulding is damaged with dents and defects throughout the house (framing around doors, baseboards, etc). I understand builders grade material is used for these types of construction homes but the defects should have been patched, sanded, and then painted rather than just covered up with paint. We've found the same issue on the exterior of the house as well Although these are just cosmetic issues, they really take away from the "polished" look we would expect for a new home. I will include all of these on my 45 day list of items that need to be revisited/fixed. I did not get good service from the builder, quality of construction is not that great for the price I paid.

If it wasn't for Siobhan and her striving efforts to go above and beyond the call of duty. She completed one of the most difficult task I have ever seen done by a person who CARE about the AMERICAN PEOPLE & strive for the greater good in our AMERICAN direction for FAMILIES. Our experience from start to finish was great! Our builder tended to our request and responded in a timely manner. Jeremy was and still is a pleasure to work with. All of the different crafts handled their portion of the build with professionalism and excellent craftmanship.

Our builder Jeremy and sales rep Brandi were great. They were always quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had and helped us resolve them in a timely manner.

I bought my house from K Hovnanian in 7/2022. The process was easy and swift. Although a few minor paint and scuff flaws, the foundation of the house seems it was built to last. Sales and builder agents are responsive and helpful.

The organization set in place to walk you through choices is very helpful. It makes you feel like you are building a custom home, close as possible without being custom. This is our 3rd build and the most organized we have had a builder in the planning stages. Our site manager was also one of the best we’ve ever had with regular communication on progress, answering questions and resolving issues. We have had some normal issues to resolve after moving in and the responses have been more than satisfactory. We are very happy with our decision, choosing KHovnanian as our builder. The only real knock is the late start after papers were signed in the beginning. We do wish the build would have started and ended on time but due to economic conditions we understand the delays. ... Very good. Sales people and agents help us a lot

We had lots of issues on our house, and they are not taking responsibility to fix the issues, we were promised that it will be fixed after the closing but , not they are telling we need to call the warranty dept. we feel like we were rushed to close it even though lots of issues were not addressed . this is our third home purchase and never had issues like this but I will not recommend anyone to buy the house like this. The finishing is not there, looks like someone rushed to finish the project, if you guys want I can share some valuable pictures which is very disappointing

I was excited to choose K. Hovnanian as a builder for my next home. The reviews received from colleagues and friends were great. However, my experience was not the same. After completing the Inspection, there were over 30 pages of issues ranging in severity of replacing 2 of 3 thermostats, rewiring upstairs due to HVAC system installation issues, builder forgot to order all appliances (microwave and dishwasher) failure to install garbage disposal, loose shingles, and severe cracks in the garage, front porch and back patio, no grout in bathroom tiles causing several to be replaced, failure to install plumbing in master bathroom under sinks, and 2 broken exhaust fans, holes in sheetrock in garage that was taped and painted over. Luckily on the final day of walkthrough while standing in the garage with the builder, the wind blew - exposing the holes. The top railing system became dislodged from the wall while the builder's realtor was walking through the home. After realizing the appliances were on backorder, the builder installed a broken GE dishwasher. Unfortunately, I did not request or pay for a 3rd inspection to ensure the dishwasher was working properly. After discovering the dishwasher was in fact broken, I called the builder who came by and agreed but informed that since it was after closing, I must go through the warranty department at GE. To date, the dishwasher still does not work, and that model is on back order until October 7, 2022. I have a brand-new K, Hovnanian home that is not fully functional. These issues also caused the home to not appraise at the sales price! After sharing my experience with the same colleagues, I learned that the Seasoned Project Managers have moved to a new neighborhood to begin construction. Understanding that everyone does not have the same work ethic or level of standards, has caused me to not recommend K. Hovnanian to anyone and warn all others that its business model is not the same so proceed with caution. ... More

A very sad experience don’t get me wrong the home is nice but, would not say very nice. They cut corners just about everywhere, from the last home I bought in Texas these people didn't throw in a lot of the upgrades that the other home did for the price you paid. There were issues from the start with almost all involved. You could not pick out anything due to COVID and this day and age, everything is either late or on a timeline and all depends on when they get items in for your house. The quality of workmanship was poor if any of these sub-contractors worked for me, they would be out of a job, there is no accountability whatsoever for anything that's done incorrectly or poorly. There aren’t very good communications between all parties at all I felt like I was running around in circles with trying to figure out who needed what and who wanted information they didn't talk to each other from the sales office to corporate. At one point a Carmen was very rude to me in an email, and I called her out on it. Then when I asked to be put in contact with her supervisor, which I had to go through the sales office lady just to get the name of her supervisor, or someone that I should contact about her rudeness. I got some by the name of Kimmie who tried to smooth things over but was just a rude as the person I was calling to complain about no one wanted me to talk to a higher up person, not even the sales lady Devra would share information about higher up's names or telephone numbers. It was like secret information that nobody wanted to put out. One of the funniest things that I found is when the home was going through the framing stage, I asked about sprinklers in the front yard the sales office lady told me it was too late for sprinklers, while they hadn't even broke ground on the landscaping so how could it have been too late to choose sprinklers for your front yard. For the initial walk-through we must've went through about two roles of blue tape that's how poor workmanship and quality was. Even though the construction manager was there every day she did a decent job but every time I brought up subcontractors, he just shook his head and said I know. He worked pretty hard on getting the first set of blue tape items completed, we still have quite a few on our cabinets need to be taken care of. Now thank goodness I had a home inspector general walk-through prior to me buying the house there was several things he found. A couple of big items were in the roof the flashing on a portion of the roof left a big gap that you could see inside the attic and from inside the attic outside. It seemed like nobody followed up and did their inspections like they should have when they were putting the roof on. It actually rained all the flashing was missing causing some of the water to get in the attic. Thank God I stayed persistent on them so they could get it fixed if I didn't it probably never would've gotten fixed. They have even painted our shutters on the outside of her home the wrong colors, if I went to said anything to the sales office, they probably would've left them the wrong color. I wonder if anybody was even looking at the plans when it came time to build in the home. They said they're going to fix them; we'll see how long that takes. I can go on and on about issues, from the dying grass, to how they laid the sod, and buried pieces of metal and debris underneath the lawn. There's so many to list it just would take forever. They want to nickel and dime you for everything heart of the gutter in the front yard leaks into the landscaping the landscapers should've booted up the drainpipes to fit the downspout so it will leak out they wanted to charge me $180 for a little piece of metal to divert the water into the gutter. Why should I have to pay hundred and $180 to fix their mistake. The heater didn't work in the house, and they can figure out why, I haven't had to use it yet, but they say it's been fixed will soon find out. I did actually have a leak in my garage, and it was running down the inside of the sheet rock again another piece of flashing that had not worked or that they missed. Now I'm waiting for them to come out and tear the wet sheet rock down and replace it in my garage. But to them it's not a rush job it's whenever they get around to it or the sheet rockers can be in the neighborhood. Even though the construction manager tries to communicate he still doesn't know when subcontractors is can be there to fix things, no accountability again his appointment should be made met and kept and they should be held accountable if they miss their appointment. If you're going to schedule something they need to be there. They should be delaying on getting wet sheet rock removed and new sheet rock up. Again, the construction manager did a good job of trying to get things done, he kept telling me that his pay depended on how I rated him, Nomo I think is really trying to get things done and do a professional job but is being held up by others involved. There was this person name Cary who when I first met thought would be a great person that would be helping with a lot of items, he was Nomo's boss, but I guess he failed also he's just as bad as the rest no accountability and not a very pushy person to wanting to get things done in a timely fashion. That's one thing that I noticed none of these people are a big hurry to get things done for you as a customer when you spend this much money on a home. Again, I feel that they cut corners just about everywhere. I'm sure within the year I'll find more issues, now I understand homes have issues, but it seemed like every time I turn around there's something else. I highly doubt it, but I hope that management reaches out to me, they need to hear about the people that are building their homes, selling their homes, and working with you as a customer to closure home. Great experience overall, we are happy with the quality of the property and the overall experience was awesome. The sales person, construction manager and everyone else involved in the process were very professional and helpful.

Everyone was great from Lisa at the Models of Townhouses to the finance department. My only issue was with the Builder. Not those who do the work but the overseeing 'boss'. He unnecessarily sent our moving PODS away just because a paint truck was parked in front of our drive way. I understand they were 'touching up' some things THEY MISSED BUT TO PUNISH MY FAMILY FROM HAVING THEIR BEDS WAS UNNECESSARY! I told his worker yet he has yet to address me.

KHov has great people and beautiful homes.

I admire how my realtor was on time with all the replies and how she helped me out throughout the entire process. The builder was always available to reach through text and emails or calls and made sure the house was upto my expectations. there were minor issues found in and around the house, i believe it is due to the fact of the house settling in since it's a new built.

It was a really great smooth experience! As a first time home buyers I felt super assisted through the process. It can be scary but KHOV made it fun and smooth. Every continues to be helpful even after purchasing the home which shows y’all really care! :)
