On 9/28/2021 I closed a house in Alvin, TX. During the process, there were a lot of problems with the builder. I have emails where I started to point out details, he told me that I "didn't understand" and that "this is construction." I actually work in the industry, so I do understand. I stopped visiting during the construction of the house because I just got frustrated every time I went due to how dirty, and poorly coordinated it was being built. Before closing, they were supposed to fix the vinyl flooring but the vinyl subcontractor didn't even go, but he told me they did. I have pictures of how all the vinyl flooring is coming out due to poor glue applications, poor coordination, and lack of supervision. They went to "fix it", but a few days later they started coming out again. I requested ALL the vinyl flooring to be replaced. A GC's job is literally to manage risk and supervise, but the builder of my house told me he "couldn't supervise flooring" which is the poorest excuse I've ever heard, you just have to follow the same route they do, look through the windows, put a camera, etc. He constantly told me "remind" him of his own meetings with me. A client should not be reminding a builder of scheduled meetings. I am very unsatisfied, frustrated, and disappointed with myself for choosing K HOV as my builder. It took them like 3 weeks to coordinate a simple flooring issue. When they did fix the flooring they made a complete mess, couldn't even put back the barn doors correctly, screwed up the garage door, and I could keep going. As of 11/5, I haven't been able to move in. I will not be recommending K HOV to anyone, and this is the first and last time I will be building with K. HOV. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY, you're basically paying $300K+ for a poorly coordinated, cheap material house. ... More

This was the worst experience I’ve ever encountered. As a homeowner and purchase five homes in the past I have need witnessed such unprecedented behavior from an organization. The communication between the sales person to the financial and builder management. This was a cash purchase and it was if I was being penalize for a cash purchase. For additional information I would love to share just how unprofessional this whole ordeal was.

I should never close on my house before they fixed all the problems that we had with the house. My house looks like s. They put dry grass on it and promised me they’ll replaced. I’d closed on my house and more than 30 days ago and I haven’t moved in they just fixed half way. I’ll get a painter my self to fixed probably. Disappointed is my status

Probably the worst thing about our house is the absolute lack of craftsmanship but, when you sub out to the lowest bidder that is certainly what you get. There are way too many things to list on this review. KHOV uses very cheap materials in there homes one of which is MDF in lieu of pine. One of the worst places you can use this product is on window sills where moisture is very likely to be present year round due to condensation. MDF is notorious for drawing in moisture so in my opinion, a poor substitute for pine. Various examples of poor quality stem from open wood joints in trim molding, stair railing, missing quarter molding around the base of the stairs, several windows sills not rounded in the front, communication wires left hanging on the exterior of the house instead of being placed in an all weather enclosure and having to grade the back yard myself when I was promised a “trunk load” and dirt and give maybe a wheel barrow. I ended having to buy additional dirt to fill in around the utility pedestals and several other areas in the back portion of the lot as they did not drain but merely created large pools of water when it rained. I am very unhappy with my new home. The sales rep Theory H. Was amazing but that’s where it stopped. The KHov design center is a joke. They send you to this big design center with tons of options except none of them are for you! I wanted simple upgrades and was told no we don’t offer that or no you can’t get that so I had to change out things once I closed. There are cheaper builders that offer way more options. The construction manager has not resolved issues that were brought up before closing over a month ago. They cut a strip out of my cabinet and glued it back together which has now come unglued in less than a month. The cabinet company said they would be out to fix it and did not show up on the appointment date. My backyard is a lake and I have told the construction manager multiple times about it and nothing has been done to correct it. Do not use their security company connect one they are misleading l wasted $600 on connections that were not completed as told and they will not fix the issue as they said “ I misunderstood” and it would be an additional $1500 to correct it. My dishwasher also doesn’t work and has standing water when turned on and Getting GE to come out and service it has been nothing but difficult. Customer service is absolutely horrible after closing. I was also not provided with a paint touch up kit and had to beg for weeks just to get an incomplete set. I would not recommend purchasing a KHov home to anyone in my family or friends. ... More

leak somewhere in drywall that still hasn't been addressed weeks later Instead of Telling me my gas didn't transfer they just shut it off, so now I have no gas for a day when a simple email I would have fixed it. So now I don't have a way to heat my home on a cold day with kids in the house. I had a confirmation email with a gas company that doesn't service the area I guess, but I had no way to tell. HOA is controlled by the builder, homeowners get 1 vote, every lot they own gives them 3 votes. No matter what change you want done they out number you. I really didn't want to have to write a bad review, but this is just ridiculous. A simple "Hey, the gas is still in our name" call would have made me make an immediate fix. Very poor quality of finished materials throughout the house inside and outside. They are still having trouble fixing the details that are not finished and they have been working for 2 weeks. I regret having bought this house from all the details that I have found throughout the house and I only have 3 weeks living in it.
