Builder did not have drip pan under AC unit causing ceiling saturated with water

Amanda is amazing and helpful

The contractors use low quality products to save a buck. This has proven to cause several problems and continues to cause more. The quality of doors are subpar, electrical outlets, switches are being swapped out as well. The trim crew through things together and doesn't match up seems etc. The doors have flaws and are never installed evenly so they look twisted etc. Even the yard has issues and I've been trying for 2 months to get it corrected. If I could do it again I wouldn't buy from them but I'm I did so ill keep pushing to get things corrected best I can.

Distinct lack of transparency when it came to final numbers for mortgage. Specifically mislead or omitted HOA payment increases scheduled but not disclosed. Back yard has tremendous amounts of construction debris that was never removed. I.e. brick concrete shingle parts Left with dead landscaping and trees that were incorrectly planted in front yard.

There were so many issues in home

The purchasing experience was great. The lack of follow through by the builder is horrible. Several issues hat were addressed in the walkthrough still have not be taken care of. Typical of any builder over promise, under deliver!!

We purchased a home and process started fine but disappointed in craftsmanship and responsiveness. They took some shortcuts and it is evident in certain areas. As we submit the warranty items it takes a long time to get items addressed if they even do address them at all.

Too many issues with tile, doors, cabinets, sink, carpet for the home value, unfortunately not a good experience. Construction supervisor have been great taking care of too many issues

Quality ok. Many small issues are needed to correct. Master bathroom too small not good flows. Lacks of added amenities. Does not offer other add ons such as sprinklers, extended patio, guitters, back yard lawn etc.

I did not get good service from the builder, quality of construction is not that great for the price I paid.

The home itself is very nice the neighborhood is nice but the people I had to deal with were disappointing and rude. No answers in timely manner, things that were done wrong or missed were always blamed on me the buyer for not answering the phone. When I’m face they hadn’t even tried to contact me. Last minute contact for many things. If you work or live out of town these people will say they contacted you but it’s most likely mismanagement on the builders part. So many things were just dropped on me last minute. This builder or their workers make you feel like they are doing you a favor. If I’m buying a $300,000+ house I expect a certain level of professionalism. I love my home but the experience with the builders employees was trash. ... More

As noted above, I submitted a list of problems nearly two weeks ago and only one has been addressed. One bath tub “barely” drains and is virtually unusable. Other than the bath tub and carpet damaged by what appears to be spilled paint with very poor cleanup.

The experience started off great, but then took a turn. This was a roller coaster that has not ended.

I’ve rated overall as a 3, i so believe this could have been done better. i hear “sorry about that” over and over during this purchase process. Haley did a good job but again “sorry” was quick in her lips. i would have rather heard an explanation as to why rather then a simple “sorry”. overall she did a good job, it wasn’t her doing the work she was just the face of the purchase. since i’ve moved in, i’m still awaiting touch up paint, repair of broken cabinets, repair of a leaking ac coil. now i’ve just found where the tile guy washed grout down the shower drain. i’ll have to have a plumber come in to try and clean this out as the shower drain is very slow. on all of the things i’m waiting on your team gives me “sorry we are waiting on……”. just gets frustrating. we have moved in and are trying to make this home ours, will be happen when the last of the khov things are complete. again, haley our salesperson did a great job, all of the issues were beyond her control. ... During our first few days in the home we noticed we were sweating more than normal while performing light duty chores and had trouble sleeping at night. Our towels would still be wet 24 hours after showering when hung up to dry. Items from the fridge would sweat immediately once taken out. We put in a service ticket with the warranty group during the first week and after a month we still have no answer to what the problem is. We have been running a dehumidifier 24/7 to keep moisture levels below 65% and every time it shuts off for more than a couple hours the humidity level starts going up. The HVAC group has come out about once a week and made minimal changes with no positive results. This experience has definitely spoiled the excitement of buying a new home. ... More

K. Hovnanian is a production builder, and you will get a house that is void of all common sense and practical spatial awareness. All. Walls have flat paint oh they paint the ceilings the same flat paint color as the walls. plumbing in the whole house stopped draining after the first four days, Half of the house lost electrical power due to a damaged line under the front yard and driveway. Quality control and contractor supervision doesn't exist.

Knowing it was going to be a new construction home I figured it was going to have its up and down. But this buying experience was unbelievable, from switch construction managers in the middle of construction to having to convince the construction manager that the front of my home was not leveled. Even showing them upgrades that I paid for that were overlooked and not installed. I felt like I had to fight my case on this built on every aspect, cause if I didn’t they were just going to bully me into saying okay with how it was already built. At one point I literally had to drive the construction manager to another home that was built correctly and tell them,” if this house is built leveled and squared, there’s no reason why mine shouldn’t be either.” There’s tones of disputes I had with this built but only good part I can say is that the builder jumped on the resolution quick. Even though I had to fight with them about it. We had a huge ordeal about our brick and how the quality of it was not up to standard. And there was another issue on were we had to argue our point. Overall key factors with this builder is that they’re MAJORLY in need of a quality control department. From start to finish, most of the damages or structural issues I found literally anyone off the street can see. But the people building these homes don’t care about quality, they’re just there for a check at the end of the day which I get but that’s where “a quality control department” would enter and fixed these issues. I understand how the builder wants to stick to 120 day mark but sometimes rushing through builds isn’t the best way of doing it. ... More

Overall a very nice home. But the contractors that were used were complete trash. There are several issues with the home still that I’ve asked to be fixed even before closing that still have yet to be fixed. Brick issues, drywall issues, paint. The urgency to get these issues fixed is close to none. Am I overall happy with the home? Yes. Would I buy from Khov again? I don’t think so.

Get an inspection from an unbiased 3rd party and don't sign a single paper to close until all items are cleared and re inspected.

The buying process was very easy. Sales does a good job at handling mostly everything for you to close. The materials and quality in our home were dissapointing. Rusted applicances and fixtures. Paint specks all over the tiled floor, crooked trim and other issues we didn’t expect to find. Check all workmanship in detail before purchasing!

I absolutely love the design of the house, however, the job was done sloppy.

I have some bad experience like; 1. Squeak sound in the master bedroom floor. I brought the builders attention to this, i was told they cannot fix it at this time. This was quite upsetting.

Very stressful process! Had to complain to get cosmetic issues fixed that clearly needed to be fixed. Construction manager did catch a few things before me and corrected them before I had to complain. KHOV waited until last minute to schedule walk through and should’ve been done at least a week prior to closing to have appropriate time to get everything fixed. Was told if I don’t close they could delay fixing the issues for months so felt forced to close so my interest rate wasn’t affected. Running across issues the longer I’m here. Can file warranty claims for some things that did get fixed correctly on walk through. Everything should have been done right the first time.... ... More

This is not a custom home, I repeat, this is not a custom home. They build them as fast as they can and try to cover up as much as possible. You have to be thorough in your own inspections and stay on top of the contractor to make sure the issues actually get fixed.
