There is too muc turn over and issues are not resolved. There were short cuts made and many mistakes. The garage door has never been fixed. Orlando and so many other good people quit because they were overworked and underpaid. The buyers all suffer as a result.

The poorest quality home I have ever bought. It was supposed to be new but the quality of the crafmanship leaves a lot to be desired, specially the painting job, sloppy and poor quality paint. The paint over frames is full of crumbs, that will require sanding and repainting . I was told that buy as it is after I had put my downpayment. The person responsable for responding to issues was excellent, The windows would not open and they came and fixed them almost all. Problems with a breaker they also fixed, overall very responsive.

Great floor plans and locations.

The basic materials used in half a million dollars house a joke.

When you build a home in 4 months, don't expect quality craftsmanship. Lots of interior issues - drywall/paint defects. Landscape is a 3/10 at best. Sprinklers not sitting flush with the ceiling. Lack of customizing. Overall, I wouldn't pick a KHov build for our next home.

Our options regarding architectural design of the home were not explicit right from the beginning. The visit to the "Design Gallery" as well as the "Sight and Sound" agency, where selections of the "Digital Communication Systems (including Security and phone/internet providers), shapes, styles and quality of interior fixtures' materials and other "finishing" specifications ought to have been done and customers' preferences pinned down and priced out before binding Sales Contracts are signed. This is because we ultimately signed the sales contract agreement and paid the required deposit before visiting the "design Gallery where some of our needed selections were unavailable. The salesperson insisted that since the contract had been signed, our choices were limited to what were available. Otherwise, failure to choose from the available limited options, would lead to forfeiture of our deposit. Two toned interior painting of the home which was marked to us in the sales brochure, was discontinued when it was time to build our home. So only one tone color paint was used for our home. Thus we felt short changed. While waiting for completion of our home, the company in the interim, had a special sales program that lowered the sale price (by $38,000) of the same home model as we bought . The sales person refused to make any adjustment for us to synchronize with the advertised new sale price., This refusal occurred despite the fact that construction of our new home, was yet to start. Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More

The buying process with Khov should have been straightforward, but we faced several challenges. Our salesperson was not helpful, and the tight schedule made it difficult to thoroughly review the contract, closing details, and warranty information. There were discrepancies in the final delivery, and negotiation was off the table. The salesperson has since left the community, likely moving to another. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience purchasing a new build with Khov."

Have some problems with the house that could of been avoided if the workers pay attention to details. Problems such as leaking. The workers wants to build too fast to meet a death line even after I told them to take their time but to build a quality product.

I purchased this home at a reduced price on a county program. Maybe I received subpar service/products because of that. Either way, I would NEVER purchase at full price from K.Hovnanian based on my experiences with the salesperson, the construction managers, and the warranty manager.

Do not trust them when they say their home inspector is top notch. We have found a lot of issues since moving in. A lot due to poor workmanship and no quality control on the work being done. That said they are super responsive to issues which arise and work to fix it. But it’s a headache that should have been taken care of before hand. In closing, hire your own realtor to help you and no matter what get a home inspector.

Having lived in different parts of the country, we’ve experienced many different developers, and builders…none as poor quality and value as K.Hovnanian homes. After viewing the models, we were extremely hopeful and excited to build, during some of the building process and once we moved in we realized that many of the design aspects and quality were simply not up to par for the price paid. This sentiment has been expressed by several of us who have recently moved in. While there are aspects of the house, we like there are more design and quality aspects that would cause us to run far away from ever buying with K. Hovanian again. ... More

Did not go as well as planned but the major issues were with the Mortgage company. Way to many issues to list but it was an absolutely horrible experience. Some issues with the building process but that went pretty well and we settled on time. Mistakes were corrected and some had to do with supply chain issues.

Our experience was one delay after another. We have great disappointment in the deliverable. The bright spot in this experience was the Community Senior project Manager. He seems to experience and very personable.

Had worst home closing experience for my property I had purchased in Virginia. Hand off and co-ordination was a total chaos, disorganized experience. Encountered Construction issues and it took weeks to bring it to closure. Poor management oversight and ensuring quality of the construction and warranty resolution. My advice to the management is Customer service can be lot better and closely monitor construction issue resolution.

Used K. Hov expecting a different experience from other builders in the past. But it was about the same. The sales team was amazing, but the construction of the home is my issue. The quality of materials are faulty and super inexpensive. For the cost of the home, I shouldn't of had to call the warranty manager to fix multiple issues within the first month of owning a brand new home. While the warranty manager is very responsive and professional. She definitely has job security especially when the construction workers are working at night with hard hat lights to build homes.

KHOV sales and design center are not concerned with the best interest of the buyer, and you need to ensure all discussions are in writing. Truthfully I would not have purchased from this builder knowing what I do now, and the dishonesty that is plagued throughout the process.

The shower grout is not good, the baseboard in the floor is loose, the closet magnet are not catching very well, the lament floors are starting to come up even after I have mopped the floor with a damped cloth. The elevators are a big issue. I was told that cement will be placed on top of the ceiling. However, you can hear when furniture is being moved or a kid jumping up and down. You can hear when someone is walking on their floor.

There were lots of offers. We paid for changes and upgrades for our home; however, Tyler never gave us the opportunity to pay for an office door and a deck which we really wanted. Since he did not offer us the opportunity to upgrade or select those options, we believed it was included in the price of the house. We were very specific and clear to him that we wanted our house with the same options as the model home. That’s why we asked for the upgrade of the guestroom with full bathroom, the Sun deck with the a lamp and the office . Exactly as the the model house. That did not happen. We were left with an office with no doors and what bothers us more is that our garage was used to store office doors for one of our neighbors. During the construction of our house in our garage was a door for the office. That is the reason why we did not say anything earlier because we thought those doors were for our office. When we were told that our office came without doors and no deck, it was too late to cancel our contract resulting in never trusting a salesperson again. We felt tricked and even complained and asked Tyler if he thought we did not have the money to buy upgrades. There should be no reason to trick people to buy your houses. ... More

A month and a half after closing, we are still missing a window. Several items covered on walkthrough were never addressed. Some elements of construction did not align with plans (legal?). Several assurances made that did not line up with reality. Sales person was responsive via email but not all statements were backed up with action. Over-priced. Ex. Nicer model home with more high-end features has not sold and the price keeps dropping.

I will never recommend K. Hov to anyone. The quality of products that were used to build this home, as well as the craftsmanship to put the home together, is something to be desired. Our first night in the house, we smelled smoke, like there was an electrical fire. Come to find out, the wires were crossed in the bedroom lights. This was just the start… tack strips not holding the carpet, shoddy cutting of the wood for the rails and baseboards, loose railings, poor grouting of bathroom tiles, nail pops EVERYWHERE after a month, lies about the swale in our backyard and how it “should” drain, not to mention that we were unaware that we were even going to have a swale, crack in the corners of the interior walls, and buckling of the vinyl siding. This house was way overpriced for the quality it lacks. Needless to say, we have already had to invest $7000 of our own money to fix the yard, with no help or concern from the builder. We are currently trying to use the county to help recoup some money due to the flooding we are experiencing in the yard. The house may look nice on the outside, but there were not options for the inside. This is our second build and we had more options with Lennar for our past house. We could chose wall color, fireplace color and slate color around it, bathroom design, etc. None of this was considered, or allowed, when we asked when picking our colors and design aspects of the home. Our overall home buying experience with KHOV was not as great as we anticipated. We have been understanding that the current industry norms has impacted the builder’s ability to deliver homes more timely. With that being said, for our community (New Post in Fredericksburg, VA), the issues were compounded by lack of communication and accountability with regards to issues with the home, quality of the craftsmanship, and not to mention we went through 3 different project managers for this community, causing added constraints to the timeline of home delivery and further breaking down the lines of communication. I’ll also mention that we had both a pre-drywall and pre-delivery private home inspection, where many different concerns were brought up and yet, the builder never took the time to thoroughly go through the report and give us feedback on the items. Additionally, we requested some things be given a written explanation about what the builder did address or wouldn’t or didn’t think would need to be addressed in the report, including a concern about mold in the attic. They left a lot of it up to their contractors, even though they knew that they were having some trouble with reliable and quality workers. The list of problems that arose with the quality, range from questionable practices of the contractors to attention to detail and thoughtfulness. A major disappointment is the poor installation and treatment of the lawn sod prior to us moving in, which has resulted in many dead grass spots and more out of pocket costs to address the situation. I find it to be very unprofessional and unethical to have someone move in with their lawn in that condition, in addition to some of the conditions of other areas of the home. Many of our neighbors are having similar issues. The builder made verbal promises to follow up with our sod, and even though we have been investing a lot of time, energy, and money into our lawn care, they have yet to do their part or due diligence to correct the issues with the sod/yard. These “broken promises” and disappointments have seemed to be a resounding theme amongst those of us who already moved in! For instance, one of our neighbors incorrectly had two different types of stone installed for the wrap around of their front porch and the builder still has not fixed this. Another neighbor had a huge hole in their subfloor and had their flooring installed right on top of it and they still have a list of items that are yet to be addressed. All of us were delivered a dirty/dusty home, including some of us having dirty carpets, and we are all still waiting (collectively over 2 months) for the cleaners to come back. We had some high expectations on our purchase of this home, but it was met with poor execution, poor supervision on the trade labor, and poor follow up to correct issues. This wasn't all bad, but if you are buying from this group, then make sure you have the ability to watch each step of the process closely as you will quickly get frustrated with the execution if it's not supervised properly. If executed correctly, it could be a wonderful home.

This was the worst buying experience from the beginning to the end, the experience was a headache. The whole team from the sales people Erica, the building manager Joe were arrogant, dishonest, and rude. The house was falling apart soon as we moved in. No one seems to care about where things are placed or how things are done. Lots of errors, mistakes and break downs were found after moving in. Quality of the materials and labor used in building the house was very cheap. The overall experience was dissatisfying to us.
