We bought the Model home, and the quality and speed of service we received after we moved in was outstanding.

My wife and I had been looking at houses in Northern Virginia all day with no luck. No one was building the type house that we wanted. The last house that we looked at was a model home in Melody Farms built by K. Hovnanian. When we walked in the door we knew this was the house for us. It was big and beautiful with all the options that we have dreamed of. It had a super kitchen, a large two story Great Room and a Basement that would make any man happy. We really love our new home and beautiful community. It has been a wonderful experience working with the entire KHOV family. It has truly been a blessing to work with such an exceptional team. The love and professionalism they have shown toward us from day one is awesome! I am especially grateful to Tara, Dave, and Ann they are truly the greatest. I really appreciate all of the personal time and and care they gave us and all of their expertise. This really meant a lot to us.

My home is solid and tight and overall lovely but the details, the ones you pay big for because they are lumped in packages or you were charged for making a modification, are sloppy and/or missing. Upgrading a room means paying for the layout, not upgraded materials as you will still pay for those at the design center. The design center offers a few options only, especially at the grade 1 and 2 levels. Even when upgraded, things such as knobs, kitchen faucets and shower doors are extra. The electronics office, picking out internet/automation/lighting/securtiy systems is super high pressure and not enjoyable in the least. Both design center and electronics were beyond slow at getting the materials to the me/office putting my build behind schedule. The building though was efficient and fast. Once built, the trim work in the home is sloppy in areas. Things like nicked wood or raw edges on trim are covered in spackle and painted over. Nails showing or popping through wood, and cracks in cabinets are left unattended...it's careless construction in what could be a perfectly beautiful home. The landscaping is basic and done with very inexpensive plants, cheap trees, too many shrubs. Overall, I do like my new home and the people I worked with are very nice and helpful. The salesman was charming and responsive, the construction managers are all informative and helpful. I would work with the people again but likely not get another khov home. ... More

This is the 2nd home KHOV has built for us. Love everything about this builder.

Have some problems with the house that could of been avoided if the workers pay attention to details. Problems such as leaking. The workers wants to build too fast to meet a death line even after I told them to take their time but to build a quality product.

I would highly recommend KHovnanian Home Builders to anyone who wants to purchase a new home. We expected the process of building our first home to be extremely overwhelming and were hesitant to begin the process, however we were supported 110% of the way from start to finish. From the sales person who went out of her way to provide support and superior customer service, to the design center where we were able to choose all of our finishes. We were able to work within a budget we could afford and couldn't be happier with the value, craftsmanship, and quality of our new home. We still can't believe we own our first home and are stunned at how beautiful it is. Initially, we had a great deal of anxiety, but the loan officer was able to answer our questions and was more than helpful. When closing on our new home, I had to close without my husband who couldn't be there, however the process went very smoothly and I was in and out of the closing without any issues. Best of all, I cannot forget the Senior Community Construction Manager. He was thorough, obsessive compulsive about every single detail and was always available to me for everything. If I ever had any issues, he took care of them immediately. Each of the meetings I had with him were informative and I always left feeling good about the process. Our home was delivered in time to meet our personal request, as we were nearing the end of our lease. We were pleasantly surprised each and every time we visited our home through the building process, and we couldn't be happier today! The construction manager still continues to reach out to make sure we are happy, and we sincerely appreciate his outstanding customer service! The entire process from first visiting the properties thru financing, closing and follow up after the sale has been easy. Responsive to inquiries and the few minor issues that needed attention. The team of Tricia, Kristen and Arthur do an outstanding job.
