We hear loud noises walking on the upper condo which is unbearable. Floor should have better noise reduction system.

Having lived in different parts of the country, we’ve experienced many different developers, and builders…none as poor quality and value as K.Hovnanian homes. After viewing the models, we were extremely hopeful and excited to build, during some of the building process and once we moved in we realized that many of the design aspects and quality were simply not up to par for the price paid. This sentiment has been expressed by several of us who have recently moved in. The poorest quality home I have ever bought. It was supposed to be new but the quality of the crafmanship leaves a lot to be desired, specially the painting job, sloppy and poor quality paint. The paint over frames is full of crumbs, that will require sanding and repainting . I was told that buy as it is after I had put my downpayment. The person responsable for responding to issues was excellent, The windows would not open and they came and fixed them almost all. Problems with a breaker they also fixed, overall very responsive.

Less than 3 months moving into my new house, we have found a few issues. The newest one is a big crack on the ceiling above my living room. Another one is screw coming loose from a corner of my living room, and cabinets didn’t get glued in the first place.

Be prepared to install all the ceiling fans and lighting. The only built in lighting is in the bathrooms n kitchen. The kitchen lighting would be great IFF there were multiple control swtches and circuits. There is only one circuit so all the lights come on. No separate switch for the island lightng. Under counter lighting works nicely as is on its own circuit. The porch deck is poorly thought out. Too small for normal deck chairs. Only enough room for one person. Flooring on deck is open plank and all the porches are vertically aligned so the drip upon each other. Many windows good natural lighting but only single sash. Can only clean the interior. Interior paint is the cheapest flat white paint available. We had to purchase high quality HIPA FAN/FILTERS to collect all the dust/flaking paint particles we stirred up as we moved in. We repainted both bathrooms with a high quality semi-gloss to avoid moisture problems. ... More

I enjoyed the home buying process. The Sales Consultant, Homeowner Service Manager, and builder have been extremely helpful and supportive in the home buying process. All of them made homebuyers process run smoothly for me. Thank you to all for my lovely home.

I was skeptical at first since I’ve purchased homes from Ryan homes, Stanley Martin, etc and they all had some major issues during inspection. I’ve also never heard of Khov until recently. We really liked the size and layout of the Khov townhome compared to a lot of townhomes that are built narrower and taller (to maximize the cost for space). They had a quick move-in home available at a pretty good price compared to other new construction townhomes. When we went through inspection, the inspection report showed pretty much no issues and they put things like “dust” to even make some sort of report lol they said the home was one of few that had pretty much no code violations or issues found. The contractor who did our walkthrough was so great to work with as well as the HOA manager. We’ve been living in our home for a few months so far and love it! The only thing I don’t like is that our backyard faces another backyard pretty closely. ... More

Good overall. Everything is good quality, just some things a little rushed, but they're responsive with the fixing. Only downside is the price, as it is everywhere. Overall 4/5. Free upgrades I think it deserves for the price: installed smart thermostat, smart doorbell (so it's easy to replace), and at least one HVAC vent in the loft, since it's quite the pricy upgrade and it gets VERY hot in the summer, and VERY cold in the winter. My AC unit unfortunately doesn't heat/cool at the moment, so I might be extra bias on that one.

Our options regarding architectural design of the home were not explicit right from the beginning. The visit to the "Design Gallery" as well as the "Sight and Sound" agency, where selections of the "Digital Communication Systems (including Security and phone/internet providers), shapes, styles and quality of interior fixtures' materials and other "finishing" specifications ought to have been done and customers' preferences pinned down and priced out before binding Sales Contracts are signed. This is because we ultimately signed the sales contract agreement and paid the required deposit before visiting the "design Gallery where some of our needed selections were unavailable. The salesperson insisted that since the contract had been signed, our choices were limited to what were available. Otherwise, failure to choose from the available limited options, would lead to forfeiture of our deposit. Two toned interior painting of the home which was marked to us in the sales brochure, was discontinued when it was time to build our home. So only one tone color paint was used for our home. Thus we felt short changed. While waiting for completion of our home, the company in the interim, had a special sales program that lowered the sale price (by $38,000) of the same home model as we bought . The sales person refused to make any adjustment for us to synchronize with the advertised new sale price., This refusal occurred despite the fact that construction of our new home, was yet to start. It was nice that the builder completed the home construction on schedule and we moved in as planned. ... More

Great, I am very satisfied

Quality of workmanship is great. Locations is wonderful. People are nice.

I was disappointed to learn that KHov left a dirty filter in our furnace at closing, It was clogged with what appeared to be drywall dust mostly. This is unacceptable. I guess because it is out of sight the culprit didn't think anyone would notice. This one thing prevents me from giving a great review.

This is the 3rd home we have purchased and it was our best buying experience ever. From our Sales Agent to our Financing/Loan Agent to the Construction Team (during the Build and even after Move-In) to the Home Warranty personnel everyone at K. Hovnanian have been OUTSTANDING! Kind, courteous, competent and focused on Customer Service! GREAT JOB!!

Good. But at the same time. I would like to have choice for: using Gas or Electricity or both. For the A/C and Heater.

Generally, a good experience. Building project manager and co-worker very responsive to questions and providing answers to questions. Having to travel from Fredericksburg, VA to Chantilly, VA to select specifice items for inside the house was not pleasant, and would have been more convenient if the same service were provided closer to the new community home site.

Initially when we were first looking at the properties all was wonderful, then our representative ghosted us days after closing without a word when we needed her most, we noticed the poor craftsmanship of the home almost immediately after moving in, doorknobs falling off in your hand, constant knocking noise from the walls, paint splatters on floors, doors wilted all around with dents an holes, carpet pokes, tiles separating, grout splatters, leaks, electrical issues, the list goes on an on. We expected so much better from KHov, they really need to put more effort into the quality of their homes. ... More

The buying process with Khov should have been straightforward, but we faced several challenges. Our salesperson was not helpful, and the tight schedule made it difficult to thoroughly review the contract, closing details, and warranty information. There were discrepancies in the final delivery, and negotiation was off the table. The salesperson has since left the community, likely moving to another. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing experience purchasing a new build with Khov."

Recently had the pleasure of closing on a new home, and we couldn't be more impressed with the entire experience. From start to finish, the team was professional and provided timely updates. The quality of craftsmanship in our new home exceeded our expectations, and any concerns we had were promptly addressed with care and expertise. We are thrilled with our decision to choose Khov and would highly recommend them to anyone in search of a top-notch homebuilding experience.

I am not at all happy with quality of the home and materials that were used for construction when compared with other builders.
