We had the most amazing salesperson! Kelly walked us through every step of the process! We were told it would be 9 months for our build and the house was done a bit early. The communication throughout the process was very professional. Loved the weekly phone calls and pictures. We were out of state buyers and felt informed every step of the way. I live my home but the quality is more like a $300K house than a $700K house. Fixtures are off center, none of the walls are plumbed. I wanted to glaze my walls but they did such a poor job with the taping, muddying and initial paint that it look horrible. Putting up shelves is a lesson in futility because the walls are either conclaves or just plain crooked. Don’t get me started on the lack of ceiling lights. The Design Center prices are a joke … they mark up every 5 times the value.

Overall our buying experience was good and we enjoyed working with the KHOV staff. Thanks to our builder Michael for all of his efforts to do things right and to Alex for working hard to handle our warranty issues.

Terrible detail on cabinets in kitchen and granite

The closing process is very clunky and unorganized. The Design center needs to be more detailed, especially with electrical. Otherwise, it was an overall good experience. Mike was the best on construction site.

KHovnanian does not know how to build a house correctly the 1st time. Everything from cheap, unprofessional subcontractors to on-site personnel who do not conduct proper supervision of the trades employed result in home owner problems that are handed off to a warranty team that take months to resolve the problems they inherit. Exterior stone masonry, cabinets damaged or MISSING, horrible painting / finishing (inside & out), appliances (& the installation of same), upgraded beam work installed not square to the structure, even uninspected rough electric work are examples I personally know of that were not done professionally. These problems are then handed off to a overloaded warranty team that don't have the time to show up when trades are scheduled to do their repairs and the homeowner is required to wait hours & hours multiple times for trades who show up without floor protection, without their proper equipment or tools to do their jobs, & who often don't even have the correct repair information with them when they do arrive & have to reschedule their visits. We have bought several new homes with several builders. This is our worst. 3 months in the house and cabinets still have holes in them. Shower stilll leaks. Gate needs repairs. House needs painting. Nails are popped out and walls need sanding and painted. Etc. B

Having talked to neighbors, everyone has had some issues with Khov. I have had so many reassurances that items would be fixed, and then one excuse after another. New superintendent is good, but is overwhelmed with the number of complaints and the lack of support from trades--particularly cabinets. Economic conditions may dictate the need to complete homes rapidly, but in doing so, homeowners are faced with following up to correct issues that shouldn't have occured had they been done correctly the first time

Shop around for better alternatives

Felt builder way overpriced options at design center. $2,300 to have paver drive instead of cement drive - other builder I visited charged $900 additional. $3,000 to have tile in small closet versus standard carpet. After closing, we have been forgotten about - some blue tape items have still not been done & we closed 3 months ago. No handles on any of our cabinets, touch up paint on back wall never done, missing cabinet piece not installed, cracked cabinet still not replaced

We understand supply chain issues. We understand labor issues. We understand nothing is perfect. That all being said we are enjoying are home and the neighborhood more and more each day. One quick note…. From the sales office to the construction guys out here on site they have all been great, a 10 rating to them all for putting up with us. Give them a raise they deserve it.

Salesperson would not help with problems. Poor workmanship. Throw a customer over the bridge. They could care less about workmanship and customer service!!K

The model we chose suits our lifestyle; it is beautiful. However, many issues were not dealt with prior to closing. Could be the victims of not enough help; however, the quality control was surely missing in this home buying process/experience. For nearly $700K home pricepoint, I would have expected better quality from the trades. Even the windows are subpar. Even now almost 4 months later, the customer service follow up on this side alone is not good. I am still waiting on cabinet fixes and between the customer service center and vendor they cannot get orders right. No timely follow up either. I may escalate this yet. My advice do not close until 100% right (small things at 11 month ok but not the MAJOR!). ... More

Building a home is a stressful situation. If I am to describe our experience I would have to say it was lacking in many areas. The sales group was wonderful. The building portion was the worst I have seen. The craftsmen ship that was allowed to occur was horrendous. The after the sale care has been good. It is hard to keep tabs when contractors don't show up for their appointment to fix shoddy work.

The experience that we have had so far has been unsatisfactory in my opinion. We closed on the new home over a month ago with outstanding issues that are to be taken care of by KHov. To this point in time they are still outstanding. Quality of products used are average at best.

The KHOV support staff was outstanding. Sales - Diana, Construction - Sean, Repairs - Alissa. All exceeded our expectations for professionalism, transparency, and customer service.

The sales team was great. Very responsive. Same goes for my construction manager. Had some issues with the design center in the beginning. The trades during the construction process are slobs. They through their food on the property, basically all of their trash. More effort needs to control it. One way is to fine them. Once you start effecting their money, the habits will change immediately. Closed on the house a month ago, and some trim and minor punch list items are still not fixed which is frustrating.

Kelsey and Mike where fabulous. Anytime I had a question about the building process or timelines they were readily available. They went above and beyond in including me in the entire process. Kelsey is a wonderful advocate for the homebuyer.

I was a bit apprehensive at first, only because being single, and recently building a new home in another state! Kelsey and Mike ( and my wonderful Real Estate lady) made this very easy for me! I don’t know how I would have ever done this without them! They have become my friends! I highly recommend them!!!

Home buyers can really trust the work and level of craftsmanship of the builder. Questions are quickly answered, and you can trust that the builder wants you to move into a nice home. That is clearly one of his goals.

I had a very good experience when purchasing my home. The home was just starting to be built and was only a foundation when I purchased it. The process of having the home built was relatively simple Michael the project manager kept me up to date on progress through phone calls, text messages, and emails. The home was completed within the time frames I was originally provided there were no delays. The home seems to be good quality with appropriate thought going into the small details.

I liked that Mike and Amy kept updating us with calls and pictures of the progress they were making during the construction of the home. But we felt that Khov wanted to close whether the home was ready or not. The tile backsplash in our kitchen was completed the day of the closing. There were too many loose ends that still needed to be completed when we closed. For instance, we closed and the evening of our closing a guy was washing down our tile floor and BTW he did a crappy job as we cleaned up after him the following day. Not sure why you are wasting money on that guy. The guy who installed our cupboards was really bad as he left with cupboard doors that were uneven and door handles that were obviously crooked. You should find a better craftsman for that job. I would not have him back to my home for anything. For a new home we just have had to deal with a lot of stressful stuff. Like we kept asking that the door weather stripping be corrected to get a tight seal. We even mentioned about the weather stripping before closing. We kept asking for touch up paint so we could do a lot of the touch up ourselves rather than wait. We still have a section in the back of our house that has never been painted, which we mentioned but no action yet. Our A/C just went out, needs a new compressor, hard to believe in a new unit. Don't get me wrong, we like every single person we have had to deal with. Mike, Amy, and Alyssa are all very nice and easy to talk to but we are frustrated on how all of this has gone done. Maybe the real issue has to do with the quality of the subs that are doing the work, I don't know, but I do know that many times Mike has gone above and beyond, even doing other people's work, I think, to help us out and solve some issues that we have had. Michael, the Senior Community Construction Manager, was a joy. He has been so helpful and eager to assist.

We're very happy with our new home. Mike and Kelsey were great, they answered every question that I had. They called every Wednesday to give me an update throughout the whole duration of the build.

Sales Rep "Amy" from K. Hov was excellent & stayed in contact throughout the process. Rate: Excellent. Project Manager "Mike" attended to ALL our inquiries immediately & continued to be available after we moved in to rectify any minor touch-up needs. "Mike" kept us informed from start to finish & beyond. Mike was very good on our Walk-through's & on our delivery date and addressed any & all of our requests for service. Very thorough & would highly recommend both Mike & Amy to friends or family. We are very Happy with our new K. Hov. home & the community at Four Seasons/ Sun City West Az.
