Design of the home is perfect!

The sales person was pretty much useless, would not communicate with us, dropped the ball several times with other areas of khov. There was no supervision by the construction manager during our build process, except maybe to come in the morning and leave notes for the construction crew. We had to make sure we came in to clean up before counter tops were put on, so construction crew trash wasn't left behind. The house was not delivered in move in ready condition, still in need of much cleaning before we could move in.

From our first visit to the model homes and meeting Amy D and then working with her we decided to go through the build process instead of buying a move in ready. Since we lived so far away we were very hesitant to build because we would not be able to fly in and check on progress and even do the first walk through to ensure things were going as expected...totally hands off. We did everything by phone and the weekly calls from not only our primary contact but the building superintendent made us feel that we had indeed made the right decision and were working with a team of people that really cared and took pride in making sure our home met our expectations. The final walk through before title was signed was beyond what we had even expected. I think we only found three very small things that we asked to have changed and one of them was just an uneven backsplash tile...nothing with the build itself or our selected options could be faulted at all. We did not know that we had to finish landscaping until we moved in.

Every personal touch point from the salesman, construction manager and all of the office/admin team were very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and prompt when addressing questions and concerns along the way leading up to our closing and complete satisfaction. Great overall experience and home value.

I could not be happier, the amount of professionalism by the sales staff (Julie), the superintendent (Robert) the mortgage team (Ross and Emily) exceeded my expectations. This is my second KHOV home - highly recommend. So far the warranty team has been on top of everything

nice home but with deficiencies that have not been corrected. as always they say they will get to it asap. that means you'll have a long wait till the corrections are made.

Spend more time checking workmanship of people doing the work just to get it done. Don't just do things and expect the homeowners to accept it as "that's the way it is and there's nothing that can be done about it".

Construction foreman was very thoughtful. He contacted us weekly to update us on the progress of our new home. Your mortgage company in Florida were right on top of everything. The sales force were very helpful. We're enjoying living in our new home.

Go with the "move-in ready" if you can. Take advantage of the " stay and play" while deciding.

We fell in love with the area and it being a K Hovnanian home was the icing on the top. We looked at a lot of homes and kept coming back to K hov homes.

I worked in the new home business for 14 years. KHov. offers great value. Quality materials and workmanship. They have a detailed system of operation and policies in place, to assure a pleasant buying experience. Even better, they follow up on interactions. This makes sure everything get completed and on time. You definitely feel that they want you to to enjoy your home buying.

The process was seamless, the team exceptional, and the product outstanding.

House was built in a rush to closing with many issues somewhat resolved at the last minute. There has been a list of repairs submitted to builder with no resolution on all issues a month after I moved in. You wanted to close, the house should have been ready.

People do not show up to fix things that are wrong. Granite in kitchen was put on by Mickey Mouse. BBQ was cracked and has needed paint since 1/1/2020. A month to fix it is ridiculous.

This is my 3rd new home we have purchase and by far the best. Dave my Sales Person was on top of everything that came up and if he did not know the answer he got it. Robert the Project Manager was just on top of everything. When they told me that he would be calling me every 2 weeks I told my wife we will see....well he did and had everything done when he said he would. Finally, it came to the close and walk through I met Tia Churchhill who was very impressive. She wrote down very little and I ask her about it and she told me everything that I had a concern about. When it came for us to get our keys everything was done. I was very impressed with KHOVNANIAN and will tell friends to give them a look when looking for a house. Most of the items that needed attention after moving in have been addressed, but we are still waiting on the cabinet people and the blind people. I shouldn’t have to keep calling. Also not happy with our landscaping. We paid for the expensive package, but it doesn’t look even as good as the lesser package that was done next door. I spoke to the construction manager, still waiting. Trying to be patient, but worried I’ve been forgotten.

When Mike was our customer service rep, he was very responsive to warranty issues and getting trade appointments made. Since then they switched our rep to Kris. I have had two warranty issues with her, and both were handled with poor communication. That is why the lower rating in responsiveness to issues.

If you are not a first time buyer in a retirement community with a social club and a HOA you don’t need to read this review. I want to start out by saying we lived in a custom home so my husband and I were caught off guard at the poor quality of some of the finishing products and the quality of the some of the workmanship. I was disappointed in the “designer” and the time she spent with me. She was dismissive and the actual time allotted was too short. When I wanted to change a few thing, well before building even started, I was told no changes can be made but I do understand why there are no changes allowed when the builder is trying to build homes as fast as possible. When I started reading information about the community and builder I was excited at the price of homes. I now understand why the price seemed to be reasonable. I feel the information I read seems to be a bait and switch. We saw the beautiful model home and was amazed what our money would buy in this community. The pool area is beautiful the grounds are beautiful. After making our finishing choices the reality set in and we saw the true cost of the home. Now that we have moved in an example of our frustration with the quality is our master bath toilet needs to be fixed but the explanation that perhaps the sewer line went up hill and there is nothing that can be done, especially since our other toilet works fine, is unreasonable. I confess we were ignorant of the process of the community life. We didn’t understand the difference between the builders, the HOA and the golf and social club but we do now. Every time we ask a question we are told, “that is not our problem you need to talk to...”. As an example we have accept our front yard as is. The plants were half dead and under sized, the gravel was not 2” deep as required by the HOA and our both our mounds looked like an above ground grave. I was actually told that maybe we could get some extra gravel that we could spread on the yard. I didn’t move here to shovel gravel or repair a poorly constructed front yard. Talking to our back yard landscaper he has to use another gravel color to complete the back yard. When I asked him if we could over dress the front yard so it matched the back yard gravel he said that he couldn’t do that-per the HOA rules, and he couldn’t get the front yard gravel due to availability. We were told by a Khov associate that the contract landscaper won’t fix the problems in the yard either. We do loved the way the ranch community is set up with a lot of open areas, the dog park and the green spaces. While we have no intention to sell our house, it has been a frustrating process. We are looking forward to completing our move in, our yard being finished and enjoying the things the community has to offer. Thank you for your time reading our review. ... More

Landscaping I think you could do a lot better for the money that I paid the front yard is very sad

The salesperson had a problem with telling the truth. She lied about almost every question we ask. The builder does not inspect homes before a new homeowner takes ownership. We are still finding things that were not installed that we paid for. They forgot to put in a special shower head in the master bath. So now the installers need to rip out the shower wall in order to repair it. Plus we have other problems waiting to be repaired. And we have only been here 31 days

KHOV builds beautiful homes!

Sales and construction personnel were excellent. The primary negative comment we have is that every time we got used to dealing with a sales person, they were moved by K Hovnanian to another location. Also, we started with a local loan officer. When that person left, instead of replacing him locally, the function was moved to Florida. The daylight savings time differential of 3 hours, made it difficult for timely responses.

Make sure that Black Hat adds two cat 5 cables to the box in order to have phone AND internet.

Field superintendent was watching every trade and checking their work with a microscope. Nothing substandard would slip by.
