This home buying experience was less than enjoyable to say the least. The sales agent I would say was excellent. He tried to stay on top of things and weekly sent us pictures of the building progress. This however is where it stops! The workmanship in my estimation is very poor for the the price we paid; especially the upgrades. Many aspects of the building process were done too quickly, w/ low quality and lack of supervision. I question if the subcontractors knew what they were doing. Now that we have moved in,we have found many issues that need to be resolved. In many cases the warranty department blames the construction team ect. We probably should of paid additional money for a custom home. This however will be the last new home we will purchase in out lifetime. ... More

In this time of uncertainty and pandemic, trust is extremely important. The K Hov folks kept us informed and up to date all along though we lived in Colorado. We are very happy with the way things turned out.

Buyer beware! Everything went fine with the sales experience (excellent in fact), but once you get to the actual house - problems arise. Not unusual, but getting them fixed is impossible. Every homeowner here will tell you that there is NO attention to detail, and repairs are NEVER done. Very poor quality.

My favorite thing about the house is the kitchen. It is spacious with plenty of cabinets, drawers, and walk-in pantry. The granite island is beautiful and perfect for food prep or any other projects that require space. I love it!

We were new to new construction. There was no pricing or details about all the "extras" so we had no idea what the house would ultimately cost us. The selling agent was not well informed and did not communicate about many options that we later found were available (e.g. lighting!). A lot of pressure to make a decision immediately or the price would go up. We had to make large financial decisions without full information. Now that we are in the house we are finding issues with leaks and missing parts but the service department is unresponsive. We did not discover till we closed that we needed to take care of our outside trees and plants that we were not even allowed to select. The HOA is MIA. ... More

We love the model options offered for this 55+ community. The variety of floor plans can suit anyone's taste. Opportunities in the workmanship were repaired prior to us moving in but since we have been in the response has been very slow when issues have been reported. Care and attention must be addressed on the overall grounds in the development.

The experience of building a new home with K.Hovnanian is they keep you informed, they always get back to you with any and all of your concerns. Barbara is easy to work with. Drew and Deb are both extremely knowledgeable about the home building process and are very upfront. We felt informed the entire process.

We are very satisfied after one month

Overall, I believe the home buying experience was good. I believe, thus far, that K. Hovnanian is a trustworthy company to do business with. The sales personnel were very good and very responsive to questions and the disbursement of information. We predominantly worked with one particular individual and she was very good and very helpful as we had a lot of questions both before we decided to build and after we had put down a deposit to build. The design center person was also very helpful and informative and was easy to work with. There were some issues that we were a bit disappointed with...we believe that the workmanship that was demonstrated in the models that we viewed, both on site and at another site, was much better than our finished house. There are a lot of finishing issues that we believe could have been much better. As far as the responsiveness to issues, the jury is still out on that one. There have been a few things that have needed to be addressed and they service line has not been all that responsive. In addition, we were supposed to receive a login to be able to report issues to the service center within 30 days of us settling on our home...we have not seen that yet and it has been past the 30 days. ... It starts with the Sales Personnel Mrs. Barbera. She was always available whenever we had a question from start to finish even when she wasn't working. That experience was so valuable to us because we never purchased a newly built home. We were told that we can visit at any time during the building process, but make her aware of those times because it may not be safe for us to enter during certain phases of the construction. We really enjoy our home and it is coming together with my wife's fabulous design capabilities.

This is our second K-Hovnanian home. I can say that the problems that we encountered with our first home have been addressed with the second purchase. We are very pleased with the quality and responsiveness. Buyer must be aware that K-Hov is not a custom builder and the number of changes that can be made is very limited. You must also be sure of your final options selections as again it is very difficult to make changes once the order is in. We found helpful to visit other developments with the model we chose to enable us to finalize our choices.

The house is beautiful, however, there was some flaws that needs addressing. I've only been here two weeks so I'm trying to see how long it takes to address them.

The Covid virus outbreak precluded us from having a physical walk through inspection which would have probably taken care of a lot of things we had to discover ourselves. As such I do not blame K. Hovnanian for this. They did the best they can. Drew and Eban were very professional and responsive to questions. I was a little disappointed by the sloppy way the fire box in the fireplace was installed crooked. I'm still waiting for that to be corrected. My biggest concern is the sod lawn. It's the most lumpy, poorly laid sod I've ever seen to the point it is dangerous to walk across without fear of twisting your ankle. It's full of clover and large gaps. It will hopefully fill in eventually, but the sod in the models looks great. ... More

Every one I deal with during the building process were always very knowledgeable and courtesy. I am very happy with the workmanship and quality of the home.
