Horrible mistake of buying this house. Horrible in every way. Can’t wait to sell and get out

Great company. I own 2 K Hov homes!

The project manager worked closely with us to ensure that everything was either perfect or fixes were prompt. He also identified problems that neither we nor our home inspector saw and fixed them too.

Khov is a good company but needs to be more attentive to the details - big and small. We love our home and our Community but Khov is struggling with growth issues. Our community infrastructure (pools, courts, exercise facilities, landscaping, lakes and irrigation is struggling due to lack of maintenance management by Khov and the property management company. The handover by Khov six months ago to the HOA has been poorly handled with financial, accounting and maintenance irregularities - the end result being special assessments on the backs of home owners. With a little bit of planning, better record keeping and competent management by the property management company over the years this could have been avoided. OK with punch list items

I bought a house that was already purchased by another buyer and they backed out and we took over the house 3 months before we moved in. All of the extras were already picked and we could not make any changes. I wish we had bought the house first hand and picked out all of the extras we wanted. We like the house and love the community.

The house has great finishing. Neighborhood is a pleasant place for living. HOA eventually will be better. Overall good place to be.

I cannot say enough good things about our building experience. Kathy helped us every step of the way, and Terry was there to help us navigate through the construction process. Nicole was so helpful in the design portion, helping us make wise choices with an attention to detail. We are now in the home of our dreams and look forward to getting to know our neighbors.

The service dept and sales dept they were all very good. my sales rep Liz was excellent. and the warranty dep they were very good also.

The house we received was not equal to the houses we were shown and certainly not equal to the marketing materials and video. We are tremendously disappointed .

Kathryn from the sales team and Nicole from the design team were outstanding. They made our experience number one!!!

Our experience with both our sales representative (Liz) and construction manager (Stefane) made this home building experience a good one. To the extent that we had construction issues, these two individuals helped us address and remediate them.

Very much enjoying our new home and the amenities.

Overall very sloppy workmanship throughout

Features are less than what purchased, such as no ability to set water heater temperature. Some workmanship extremely sloppy (painting, caulking for e.g.). Washer lid hits cabinets (model version doesn't). Some windows won't stay open. Definitely love the floor plan and hope all issues get resolved. Other people say that the issues do get resolved.

The entire staff was great

Not a lot of inventory in south Florida so we bought here. The community is nice but the homes are ok. Construction isn’t great. The walls are very thin. Can literally hear EVERYTHING even when doors are shut. They told us our house would be ready within a year. It was almost 18 months before we closed. KHOV mortgage is terrible. Not flexible at all. Make you feel like you have to use them. We were made to use their title company. Even though we called and asked to use our own.

Where do I start? Outside of taking my deposit and signing the purchase contract there has not been one step that went as promised or without a fight. The workmanship and attention to finish detail is ZERO. We moved in on April 27th, roughly 90 days ago and it has been a nightmare. Yesterday I came home in time to stop them from painting the house next door as they did not properly protect my home before painting. Last month while building the home next door, the laborers shot nails through my screen enclosure by accident. Still another example of no regard or respect for property and my guess is that KHOV feels that they have are money, we are committed so deliver whatever we feel like and the buyer has to close. I will never recommend a KHOV home again. I do know Peter Hovnanian personally from Cherry Hill NJ and I fully intend to someday reach out to him to let him know about my experience. As for the maintenance of the grounds and sprinkler systems and the clubhouse; that is a whole other story. Gym has no AC, grass is rarely cut or maintained, sprinkler systems not working, Cafe at the clubhouse was a sales gimmick and nothing more than that. The whole thing is a horrible experience. I will give positive credit to Michael Rassi who has been extremely helpful in getting post closing warranty issues resolved. Other than him, the entire KHOV team from top to bottom does NOTHING ... The 2 areas for comment are: 1) the quality of finish work was marginal. Sloppy painting and woodwork. 2) KHov has also been a less desirable partner for when they turnover operations to the HOA. Unkept promises to repair items like the HVAC, issues with the proper venting of the Cafe etc. Our project manager was responsive and did the best job he could but he had to rely on the sub contractors, which had to come back for multiple issues. They really need to focus on doing the job correctly the first time. It seems unskilled labor was used for finish work. Messy caulking on baseboards and floors which has been very difficult and at times impossible to clean up. ... More

New house not clean. 4 months after closing still fighting builder to fix things on punch list from walkthrough.

I would never recommend this builder. Little to no oversite. Terrible customer service.

We were presured to close with a house full of unfinished and poorly executed work like scratched windows/window frames, unacceptable kitchen cabinet doors (irregular, doors missing, some unpainted, etc), bad paint job throughout, damaged doors inside the house, and so much more, there are many items that were not even marked down on the punch list, because they said they were minor and would be taken care of immediately, and four month later they have not taken care of them or the punch list. Those items include spilled cement on the toilet, wrongly places towel holders, missing attic cover in the garage, scratched toilet door on master bathroom, bad paint job on front door (which they mentioned was dust, but it never came out when cleaning it), just to name a few. We feal really dissapointed and frustrated, and still find no response from the constructor ... More
