Not at all a good experience. It took 2years to build this house and it was done terribly. I had to fight everyday just to get part of what I paid for.

When we purchased our home we were told it would be done in 12 months or possibility one month more. The dates keep changing and when we were supposed to close in July we ended up closing the last day of January. We closed although our house was not totally completed because of the situation that they put us in with the dates constantly changing. We were without a place to live so we needed to close with things not being done. It is now three months and our kitchen is still not finished, windows need to be replaced, tile floors have hollow spots, etc. I am sure they will eventually fix the issues but at their own pace. Mean while they are diligently working on a spec house next door to us and all the neighbors and ourselves have numerous issues that need to be fixed. What should have been a happy experience for us has turned into a very stressful situation having to wait around for people to show up to fix things. We wait and then they don’t show or they come without letting us know they are coming. We also experienced that they send people to look at the issues and then they send someone else to look at the same issue and then nothing gets done. They tell you one lie after another. ... More

Everything was great on the front end. Sales and design staff very responsive and helpful and continue to be even after we moved in. Wish I could say the same for construction staff. We still have many open items from closing punch list with no follow up. They are not very communicative with us or the trades who show up unscheduled without materials needed to fix any issues. While everyone has been very pleasant to work with, nothing is getting done.

The buying experience was great! The house needs a lot of work. We are having trouble getting anything fixed. Its been 3 months since closing and we have yet to move in. The quality of workmanship is poor. The value is yet to be determined as we have yet to move in. The builder’s team is very slow to respond to issues. Promises at closing have yet to be addressed. If buying from this builder, its best that I don't say.

House was not ready but we were rushed to close with false promises. After closing we had to wait two months for missing kitchen cabinets to be installed. The bathroom mirror over one sink was measured wrong and has not been corrected despite several requests. Over 12 windows have deep scratches. The exterior paint is peeling away because the stucco was not primed. The drywall in several areas was poorly installed. The list goes on but it is upsetting to write.

I bought in the time of covid, so everything was delayed. Not to blame anyone. In general everybody was very helpful and nice

I informed about 4 issues but it was not fixed. 1)There are unpainted parts in lanai, nobody came and painted it 2)There are concrete on lanai windows, nobody came and cleaned it. 3)Master bathroom restroom sliding door has issue but nobody came and fixed it. 4)Oven does not have cover at the bottom but nobody came and replaced it.

Unfortunately, Buyers should skip the hype by Hovnanian. They are unreliable and untrustworthy from beginning to end. Commitments aren't kept, workmanship is sloppy and unprofessional, building codes are ignored (in our case completely missed) and there's a persistent, constant need to keep after them even AFTER the home is completed. These are for STRUCTURAL items, not just cosmetics, Look carefully.....

There were Many items on the walk through punch list and continued list as we lived in the home. Carelessness of installers in not protecting surfaces while construction going on. A very messy worksite was viewed by us. The put in some of the correct cabinets and some not. That is just careless. Unfortunately the correct wood cabinet under the cooktop can not be installed due to size of appropriate wood cabinet would hit gas line. We live with the cabinet that is not upgraded due to cabinet company not customizing the size to fit in without hitting gas line. Individuals have been wonderful in addressing other issues. Everyone we speak to is helpful and kind. All workers except one company have been respectful and careful in our home. ... More

This being my 3rd home purchase I can only describe this as one of the most horrible experience. There are no words to really describe the process and hopefully this home builder makes some changes to their workmanship, delivery and response to requests.

Unfortunately my experience has been less than enjoyable. Our home was over 6 months beyond completion date when we finally closed. We closed on our home mid October. It is now early December and they still have not repaired the problem issues from the check list. Defective floor tiles were installed even though the surface had quite obvious flaws, shower door in guest bath not sealed, water runs all over the floor, shower head in master bath is aimed directly at the door so water splashes out around the door opening, cement floor in garage was "pocked" in several areas from nailing boards together, house was filthy with spider webs in the ceilings, glue all over windows that was never cleaned. No communication, when we do get promises to fix problems nothing happens. Unfortunately we are going to have to seek legal actions to get our home corrected. ... More

Should inform clear don’t wait until last time

Despite the 6 month delay due to Covid (which of course was very challenging) there were definitely some highlights. There were a number of people trying to do their best. Most of the delay was out of their control. At the end of the day the house is beautiful and we’re very happy. Most of the walk thru items have been done.

The buying experience was not very good. Home took so long to build it cost us 25 thousand dollars in added costs (storage and apparent). When we asked for some relief we were given a nominal amount. The craftsmanship is under par for the amount we paid. The final “cleaning “ was a joke! The house was filthy. When we said something about it we were told they only do “construction cleaning what ever that is. When we said something about several items that were not done correctly we were told “we don’t fix cosmetic items”. The works are good the company policies leave a lot to be desired. Excepting poor craftsmanship is not the way to do things. Would we buy a KHOV home again..I doubt it. ... More

I am a retired builder. Based on my years in the industry, the quality of some of the subs is poor. Construction housekeeping is poor at best so cleanup during construction and protection of existing finishes needs much improvement. Not enough time is allotted to punch list corrections before closing and, after closing, correcting punch list/warranty items has been very slow if non-existent

We had a good amount of resistance with the construction manager. But once we involved Jenn, things improved. As an example we still have issues of water retention at our front driveway-not yet sorted out

the sales lady Liz was very nice on top of everything ,informative . also the manager Robert was informative , direct to the point .

I'm happy to have made the commitment to build. However, and importantly, since I live out of state, communications were oftentimes slow; sometimes no response at all until I pressed for response. Made decision-making and timing of visits to the property problematic. So, some frustration throughout the process, even up to the time of closing. Also, importantly, was that several options in the Everett model (my chosen model) were not available to me, but there was no signage in the model nor was information offered to 'announce' that select options were no longer available. Another source of frustration. In the end, I am happy I built in Four Seasons. Just wish the process had been less bumpy. ... More

When I signed the contract in January 2021 I was told the house would be ready in August, yet it didn't get completed until April 2022! While that is bad, all of the empty promises of closing dates along with the lack of weekly progress reports mad the entire process horrible. My recommendation is to hire someone whose only responsibility is to go to each house every week, take pictures and email the buyer with a progress report, allowing the construction managers to focus on building houses.

After a 15 month struggle to get our KHov home built we finally moved in. It was hurry up and give us a deposit before the prices go up. We did that and watched as our land sat untouched for 6 mos. Everything thing was a struggle to getting materials to keeping construction managers(we had 5 during this process). Yet KHov kept selling homes. No transparency and a lot of we don’t know replies became frustrating in trying to manage any kind of schedule with a rental as we continued to get revised and pushed backed closing dates. We even met with the COO of KHov in hopes to get a clearer picture. That was a waste of time. No one communicated with us unless we initiated the call or email. The only bright spot was Carol our sales rep. who listened to us as we vented, never got upset with us and did what she could to help. Thank you Carol. ... More

Paint was done by unprofessional workers. Was corrected after we moved in Expensive kitchen cabinets was installed by unprofessional personnel. We are still waiting for the installation of the correct moldings and doors adjustments

Yes, would recommend, but would like to see more attention to details, would prevent problems later on.

Overcame building challenges and helped get into the house!

I love the home and the community, great home design. However, it was a painful process and we were not happy with the customer service we received throughout the organization. Went through 3 construction managers; finally got a very good one as our last one (Sal, great guy). Home has lots of imperfections/punch list items, which don't seem that important to the builder's homebuyer services staff. During walk through, they actually told us that we should not be concerned about things like missing paint, the quality of the garage finishes, and poor quality landscaping. Unfortunately, the builder seems to accept the poor quality work that is now standard among subcontractors throughout the industry. We are now waiting to see how the builder handles all of the punchlist items, and we will provide an update on this site later. ... More

Builders team was easy to work with. Completion date was pushed out a few times due to supply chain issues.
