Firstly, one need to accept the fact they are purchasing a volume builder and not a custom home. For most of the residents in this development that has been the biggest challenge. Many items needing correction should have been found by the builder prior to our walk through. Missing shower doors, mirrors, and window screens and shelving installed in the wrong location should have been corrected prior to close. We love the community, amenity center, neighbors, sales agents, and location; however, more attention to detail could resolve many follow up call and corrective action after the fact would seem to benefits all concerned. ... Initial sales experience lacked communication - many errors in info provided, lack of follow through. After sales rep replaced, 2nd sales person( Jerry) made up for the first one and was excellent on communication, updates and assistance. Home model is very nice but quality of work (sloppy careless paint jobs; driveway/entrance paving a mess -had to be redone; issues with GE refrigerator -delivery, install and repair; GE response time for repair; stains on carpet; damage to carpet; damage to quartz countertop). Issues that had to be addressed could have been avoided with better quality of workmanship and careful workers. This was our first new build and was at times a great experience and other times very frustrating. Thanks to Mike and Jerry for following through, being responsive , keeping us updated and taking care of issues under their control in a timely manner - they made the process much better and are great to work with. Stephanie has also been responsive and great to work with in resolving issues. Our 4 star rating for Responsiveness totally due to this group of KHov staff. When we purchased our home we were told it would be done in 12 months or possibility one month more. The dates keep changing and when we were supposed to close in July we ended up closing the last day of January. We closed although our house was not totally completed because of the situation that they put us in with the dates constantly changing. We were without a place to live so we needed to close with things not being done. It is now three months and our kitchen is still not finished, windows need to be replaced, tile floors have hollow spots, etc. I am sure they will eventually fix the issues but at their own pace. Mean while they are diligently working on a spec house next door to us and all the neighbors and ourselves have numerous issues that need to be fixed. What should have been a happy experience for us has turned into a very stressful situation having to wait around for people to show up to fix things. We wait and then they don’t show or they come without letting us know they are coming. We also experienced that they send people to look at the issues and then they send someone else to look at the same issue and then nothing gets done. They tell you one lie after another. ... More

Buying home was an easy experience. All went smooth. Only one complaint: air conditioner unit under master bedroom window. Way to noisy

We have been trying to get someone out to address several issues with the house and property. Haven’t heard from anyone yet with regards or action plan. Everyone that we have contacted keeps running us around in circles. My next step will be to contact the news media and let them try to get an answer and a resolution.

My experience was pretty good. Being the first time purchasing a home to be built was pretty daunting but our sales person helped us very much. My biggest problem was that when viewing the model homes, it wasn’t made clear that almost everything I saw were upgrades and some touches weren’t available at the meeting where you picked finishes, etc. Tile in the shower was shown up to the ceiling with a border, but the borders shown weren’t offered and tile only went to the top of the shower door. Adam was very professional and helpful during the buying period. Rosa was excellent in helping us with our design selections. Dave was very responsive and helpful during the build. Justin has been responsive in addressing post closing warranty issues. Grading of ground to ensure proper drainage of water towards the common area should have been better and was not adequately addressed post closing.

Reported several issues having to do with the irrigation system and our yard. We were assured that it would be taken care of within two weeks. We are still waiting for this to be resolved. Our neighbor has the same issue as well.

Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with the workmanship on our new home. Many sloppy finishes that we are now paying out of pocket to fix as warranty work was just as sloppy as the original finishes. We love the area and neighborhood but the move in experience has been painful.

Waiting for a new home to be built (in my case, a condo), is difficult. You're anxious and always wondering what the status is and if you may be delayed from closing. Dylan was exceptional in communicating a true estimated closing date, setting my expectations appropriately for the right time. Not only did he let me know when i truly should expect to close, but also, he always made himself available to me when i wanted to pop in for a visit to see the property and re-see all the models for home decorating ideas and to dream about what my finished condo would look like! Not only that, he sent enthusiastic emails weekly documenting the build progress with pictures! It is so nice to have photos of my new home at each stage of it's construction! My walk-through was extremely informative and the builder provided me with all kinds of tips on how to best take care of appliances, pipes and the like. I enjoyed the process and am happy in my new condo. Of course, there are a few hiccups, but K Hovnanian's team have been responded to my issues in a timely manner. And, i do think some of the interior paint & trim & nail pops need some clean up work - but i'm hopeful that's what the touch up time will take care of in about 10 months! ... More

This is not the first home I have built but it certainly is with the best builder one could ever want. From day 1 carlos has been amazing, weekly updates without ever having to ask him for an update.....unheard of , so highly appreciate that. He is professinal, knowledgeable, tranparent, honest and a an all around awesome person!!!!

Bought home in September 2022 Moved in January 2023. Still trying to find out why I had to pay the whole year properly tax in 2022. I didn't own the property until September. No one has a answer. Should have been prorated.

We went looking for a 55+ gated community in Solano County and found Khovnanian Four Seasons at Homestead. After placing our $5,000.00 deposit, our initial sales representative was "reassigned" to another new community. During the lending process, our primary loan services manager was "no longer" with the company. After we had closed on our home and moved in, our service manager and her assistant was also no longer with the company due to a mass layoff. In short, there was too much turnover and inconsistency, resulting in developing a poor working relationship and inadequate response to home repair issues. Since we purchased a new home in a new gated community, there are no amenities or community center available, yet we are being charged $192.00 a month for Homeowner Association dues.Other buyers had their HOA waived as part of their buying incentives. The worst part of the whole buying process is dealing with the Home owners Association. These people have too much power in this gated community and reserve the right to dictate what home improvements you can do to your home. Initially, I had contacted them by email and just asked questions about having a concrete patio and walkway installed. They opened up a file based on my email questions, and when I didn't provide any further information, they closed the file and sent me a denial letter. I didn't provide any further information because I didn't ask for any bids from any contractors. I again submitted an email to them asking about my denial letter, and again they sent me a denial letter. The third time, I submitted a Request for Architectural Review complete with diagrams, pictures and a proposed bid, and again I was turned down because the Committee felt that my simple design did not comply with City ordinances. I contacted the City of Dixon planners department, sent them an email that I had received from the HOA, along with my Request for Architecture Review. The planner did not see any issues except for building a storage shed within three feet away from the fence. I sent a copy of his findings back to the HOA and resubmitted my Request for Architecture Review, but was promptly denied by the administration person. She then sent me a response email and stated that my finding from the City were in her "SPAM" folder. She then sent my Request to the HOA board for their approval. The HOA finally accepted my Request for Architecture Review, but under certain restrictions that I follow the rules outlined by the City of Dixon, which I had intended to do all along. Needless to say, I am not impressed with the buying experience. There were minor repairs such as the noisy humidifiers in both the master and second guest bathroom constantly running 24-7, (finally the humidifier was replaced on April 6, 2023), the backyard patio is already cracked after only four months ( the service manager says that is normal ), the patio screen door didn't lock properly (fixed), the heating /air conditioning didn't work correctly (no heat in the second bedroom, supposedly fixed, but it is still cold in there, probably because there is no insulation in the ceiling /walls, and other issues such as a loose faucet spigot in the kitchen, damaged header board above the garage door, and improperly secured roof tiles have been addressed and fixed. What is still not addressed is the issue of the construction workers who were building the house next door to me on lot #198 had sprayed cement on my back door and the right side of my house. The cement is already dried and looks ugly, but the service manager says that this issue is closed and no further action will be taken because it is not a home warranty issue. We did not spend over $600,000.00 for a new house with sprayed on cement on it, only to be told that they are not going to fix it. At this point in time, I cannot recommend that anyone purchase a home in this community. There is too much turnover of personnel, lack of responsiveness, poor quality of workmanship and no accountability. Furthermore, the HOA really needs to be looked at - we are paying dues and $100.00 processing fees for services that are not even being provided. Most of my new neighbors in my community (and we have met everyone) agree that the HOA is not responding to phone calls or emails in a timely manner. We all want to know what does the $100.00 processing fee goes to, since we have to do all of the coordination of getting the vendors, contacting the city, etc. I certainly hope that Mr. KHOVNANIAN gets a chance to read my comments. I heard that he was not too happy when our community center didn't have an official ground breaking ceremony, so there is a lot of other things that he probably us not aware of such as speeding construction workers going up and down my street. ... Everything was great on the front end. Sales and design staff very responsive and helpful and continue to be even after we moved in. Wish I could say the same for construction staff. We still have many open items from closing punch list with no follow up. They are not very communicative with us or the trades who show up unscheduled without materials needed to fix any issues. While everyone has been very pleasant to work with, nothing is getting done.

The home is beautiful and quality is good for the price. The biggest issue was the fact we got the run around on the closing date. We understand it’s a new construction and delays will happen, but 3 month delay was insane. I was suppose close on October no one told me we weren't going to close till the next day when I called. After that my closing date changed about 3 more times. I was left in hotels and living with friends for 3 months and apparently there was nothing Hovnanian can do to help us out. Be aware of delays!

Front end process was great from initial visit through closing. As the buyer, I had good communication with sales and builder. We relied on third parties (our real actor and inspector) to act on our behave and key points in the build process. A feedback that I have provided before was that I wished there had been better communication with them. No major issues found at the final inspection and they were corrected quickly. No major issues on our 45 day list. A few items have been open for a while, but absolutely no impact to our enjoying the home. Warranty team has great communication from day 1. Amenities are great. HOA team provides weekly communications on clubs, events, and activities. They use a web based tool that ties the owners in with the community and amenities. They are very helpful and have a great presence in the club house. Members of the community are extremely nice and helpful. They make it very easy to integrate into the community. It was a great experience with the journey of first time home buying process. Helpful land knowledgeable selling group made our journey quite easy and memorable. Thank you khovnanian family.

The builder representatives doesn't honor their word. Made promises to return to address issues then stopped coming around. The quality of work done by certain contractors is very poor, i.e., the garage door installation. The company refused to admit that their work was not to standard, therefore, the issues were not corrected. The city inspectors seemed to overlook a lot of quality issues. I would not recommend this builder to anyone based on the people that represent them and the contractors that they hire.

Overall a great experience and a good community. The residents are all wonderful and we are looking forward to more residents and the further development of the community.

My home is lovely and well-made. If I stayed within the 4 walls, I might feel more positive overall. However, there is a huge building campaign going on and the beauty of the property is being sliced up into an army of small homes. This was not apparent to me in the artist rendering of the property when I was looking at the property. Construction trash is blown around and there are discarded bottles and trash on the grounds. I loved the birds and natural beauty of the water and grasses, but there is no way to get out to the water unless one walks all the way to the clubhouse. The wildlife that used to live here are pushed back. The buildings are overlit and overheated and homeowners pick up that expense in HOA dues. I am planning my departure, ... More

The buying experience was great! The house needs a lot of work. We are having trouble getting anything fixed. Its been 3 months since closing and we have yet to move in. The quality of workmanship is poor. The value is yet to be determined as we have yet to move in. The builder’s team is very slow to respond to issues. Promises at closing have yet to be addressed. If buying from this builder, its best that I don't say.

House was not ready but we were rushed to close with false promises. After closing we had to wait two months for missing kitchen cabinets to be installed. The bathroom mirror over one sink was measured wrong and has not been corrected despite several requests. Over 12 windows have deep scratches. The exterior paint is peeling away because the stucco was not primed. The drywall in several areas was poorly installed. The list goes on but it is upsetting to write.

Sloppy finishes, poor materials, poor supervision, drainage not in accordance to approved drawings. Will not recommend to a friend.
