The builder was very pleasant to work with, but after being in the home for over a month now, there are some major items incomplete and many poor quality items (wood trim, painting, etc.) that you notice.

Our overall experience with K Hovanian was positive, however there were many bumps in the road. The design of the home is terrific and the location / lot selection met our needs. The build process was painful – reasons explained below, but also due to the demand of materials and trades that delayed our completion date by a month. They have the main relationship with the appliances company. When there is an issue they should leverage their buying power in order to get results in a timely fashion. Two months later, we still do not have a working oven.

My experience was average overall. I like the model layout but now that i m living in the home there are many quality issues I did not expect, While there is home warranty, I have spent a cold winter with heating issues and responsiveness on resolution has been substandard.

The quality in this home is shoddy at best. We have lived here for 3 months and have had three leaks! The flashing was never put on parts of the house and garage. The shower head was installed incorrectly and not caulked sufficiently which caused a leak. The guest bathroom has a leak into the basement. The plumber is coming next week. The paint is inconsistent, some areas look as if they were not painted at all! There are cracks and areas of the wall that are not typical “house settling”. For a brand new build it has a lot to be desired of wherever the builder could cut corners they did. It's the first time I had to put $30,000 our of mt own pocket to fix what the builder didn't do properly. One huge selling point was buyer owned solar by Sunnova unfortunately that company has announced it will not be able to go on as a going concern and will be filing bankruptcy. We were sold a 25 warranty on these solar panels we have no idea who will service them now. When you do your walk-through to see if their are any issues, take all the time you need to thoroughly, in great detail, to check out everything. Lost opportunity on a property. We were a buyer and ready to go to contract. Sales person didn't profit from this by not advising of all possible properties - build, ready-to-move-in homes. Homebuying process was OK. Quality of some material is ok, some not so great. Quality of workmanship is lacking in most all areas. Electrical work is suspect. Workmanship and Warranty After

Our purchase experience with KHOV was great. Since then, we've struggled with getting warranty work completed and completed with quality. The subcontractor work was not high quality. Interior painting was terrible, many spots just primed and not painted from ceiling to walls, bathrooms, etc. Warranty work after the fact with painting and patch work has been poor. Our air conditioner has been worked on three times for faulty parts including putting in 4-1/2 lbs of refrigerant. KHov does not stand by its product, homes. Their service orientation is zero and is more aligned with avoiding work. They are incompetent, lazy and in some instances outright lacking in truthfulness. They cannot be trusted and have no interest in the customer let alone doing what is right. Brian is especially bad and passes you to others with no sincerity. Really lazy and incompetent.

Our project manager has been tremendous and very responsive, which has been good, but we have had SO many issues that stem from poor workmanship and materials. Our "upgraded" kitchen cabinets are flimsy at best and the quartz is extremely poor quality, but we're stuck with them. We've had a foundation leak, a plumbing issue that led to a flood and mold in the basement, improperly finished ceiling tape/mud which led to our ceilings having to be completely redone, a broken garage door, dishwasher, and fireplace. Warranty Department is Terrible

When I purchased my home I had an issue with the kitchen countertop and a couple of things that we paid for that they didn't install. A month after close they did replace the countertop, but on the install of the new one I pointed out some defects. They sent someone from the manufacturer out to look at the defects in the countertop and 3 months later we are still waiting to hear back. After moving in I noticed all my neighbors had garage door keypads on the outside of their house and I did not. I called the builder and he said I needed to get in touch with warranty. HOA is dis-organized. K. Hov does not have quality control personnel to inspect home construction before each home is delivered to its buyer. K. Hov expects homeowners to be thoroughly familiar with technology (appliances, internet, wifi, security and etc.) used in their home, K. Hov's use of third -party contractors and subcontractors could benefit from closer supervision.
