Just about everything in the house was done poorly with no attention to detail. They slap the houses together as fast and cheaply as they can. Floor is out of level, horrible drywall work, voids in the concrete, things out of square, cheap materials and building practices used and on top of that the house was dirty when delivered to us. Very disappointed in our experience.

The lack of attention to detail and ensuring that the subcontractors did quality work leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. There were multiple delays with no explanation for most of them. I am considering selling my home and moving to put this behind me.

The quality of the workmanship was very poor. There were structural issues, finish issues, grading issues, landscaping issues, and rainwater management issues that were unsatisfactory at the time of the closing date. In addition, the responsiveness of the construction management team was initially very slow and very poor. However, there has been a change in the construction management team and responsiveness has improved. However, K. Hovnanian often tries to hide behind warranty limitations when the issue is defective material and workmanship. The issues are be addressed but only after extended delays and excuses. I need to spend significant amounts of time administering all of the work tickets that are required to identify, schedule, & manage the required work. This has been very disappointing. The community is a beautiful one, however the experience with the original construction management team was very disappointing and time consuming. ... More

Prepare to wait months for any repair work to be done, and you will probably be disappointed in the quality of any repair wok

Rushed to close with a large list and zero follow through after a month. Now arguing over contract language. Likely headed to court over front door and library doors (if you can believe it!) Warrantee means nothing.

This home buying experience was less than enjoyable to say the least. The sales agent I would say was excellent. He tried to stay on top of things and weekly sent us pictures of the building progress. This however is where it stops! The workmanship in my estimation is very poor for the the price we paid; especially the upgrades. Many aspects of the building process were done too quickly, w/ low quality and lack of supervision. I question if the subcontractors knew what they were doing. Now that we have moved in,we have found many issues that need to be resolved. In many cases the warranty department blames the construction team ect. We probably should of paid additional money for a custom home. Buyer beware! Everything went fine with the sales experience (excellent in fact), but once you get to the actual house - problems arise. Not unusual, but getting them fixed is impossible. Every homeowner here will tell you that there is NO attention to detail, and repairs are NEVER done. Very poor quality.

Horrible builder and experience from beginning of process to the end!

Quality of workmanship & Materials: Focus is not on Quality of Materials or workmanship but on meeting deadlines and passing inspections. Numerous homeowners in the development had issues we have discovered during their respective builds. We had an issue with the foundation. Our concern was either minimized or discounted altogether in terms of responsiveness until we called the home office of KHovanian in desperation. The matter was addressed after that. Overall the builder focuses on getting things done at the least cost possible. The mark up on the upgrades is considerable. Our builder was competent but not supported by adequate help and supports. People do not show up to fix things that are wrong. Granite in kitchen was put on by Mickey Mouse. BBQ was cracked and has needed paint since 1/1/2020. A month to fix it is ridiculous.

KHOV chose to not close on time. Problem was that no one called to let us know. Our funds were in escrow early (the week before closing), so we thought there would be no problem. KHOV ended up costing us $1200 in extra fees for furniture storage and hotel room. KHOV told escrow that we did not want to close on the contract day. Never again.

If you don’t use k hov mortgage they change their attitude and are rude and nasty. Also, they try to add on unlawful fees if you don’t close on time when they held up the closing processing.

Poor communication, inaccurate information and lack of communication. And it continues as I am now living here almost 60 days.

I have a deep appreciation for my home and the community surrounding it. However, the purchasing process was accompanied by significant challenges, particularly regarding communication. There were inconsistencies regarding the finishes and appliances included in my chosen model, as well as confusion about the pricing of the homes. Additionally, the orientation of my home on the lot is less than ideal, as accessing the backyard necessitates using a side door, which feels somewhat awkward. Upon entering the contract, I observed a concerning decline in the purchase price of the home, which dropped by 10% to 15% within a matter of days. This situation has impacted my overall trust in the process and has raised concerns, especially as I intend to make this my long-term residence. Several poor painting areas on walls and trim. Finish work spotty at best. Once we were in the house for several weeks the repair men were very good. Especially Rich and Bruce

When I signed the contract in January 2021 I was told the house would be ready in August, yet it didn't get completed until April 2022! While that is bad, all of the empty promises of closing dates along with the lack of weekly progress reports mad the entire process horrible. My recommendation is to hire someone whose only responsibility is to go to each house every week, take pictures and email the buyer with a progress report, allowing the construction managers to focus on building houses.

The salesperson had a problem with telling the truth. She lied about almost every question we ask. The builder does not inspect homes before a new homeowner takes ownership. We are still finding things that were not installed that we paid for. They forgot to put in a special shower head in the master bath. So now the installers need to rip out the shower wall in order to repair it. Plus we have other problems waiting to be repaired. And we have only been here 31 days

They are all talk and full of excuses. You will spend numerous hours waiting for repairmen who do not show up or have the wrong information. I will never buy a brand-new home again! Can't wait to see how long the list of one-year repairs takes!

The condominium location/view sells itself. K Hov Four Seasons Kent Island rushed condominium closing from December '25 to November '25, to beat the Thanksgiving holiday and save on extra month of costs. The rush job shows throughout the never ending blue tape initial walk-thru (used flat paint that still couldn't hide sloppy caulking/painting throughout, poor dry wall installation, misaligned/crooked fixtures, workers used & left my refrigerator filthy, etc), remaining items at final walk-thru (told that if I wanted items corrected it would delay my closing scheduled two hours after the final walk-thru). Sales Rep (Dylan) was almost useless. Slow to respond (if at all), - cost me a $5K buyer incentive savings and routinely provided misleading/incorrect information. ... More

KHov sells a dream and delivers nothing, The quality of the homes being built do not match the price being paid. We knew we were in trouble when Tim, our builder, told us all of the quality issues we pointed out would be handled by Warranty. And now warranty, who is overloaded, is not addressing the issues. I would never recommend KHOV to anyone based in the experience we are currently going through. A suggestion for you is to put in some type of escalation process for the customer. No one knows who to talk to when things are not being delivered as promised.

First impressions, house was dirty a number of shuns were dead & others dying, had less than 20 minutes for the gold key inspection as there was a cleaning inside with a mop & bucket pushing the dirt around, the garage was swept and the dirt and debris pushed in the corners, no mail for 2 weeks Khov forgot to put addresses in the matrix it worse after that, HVAC compressor quit in the hottest spell repairs were expited only took 8 days roof leak, shower drain set too high have to sweege water out by hand siding fell off a month to repair after 3 months still waiting for repairs many more items
