Once you move in the common response to an issue seems to be "you should have said something before you moved in". Not sure how you are supposed to know about poor landscaping resulting in standing water until you are in the home.

The builder was very pleasant to work with, but after being in the home for over a month now, there are some major items incomplete and many poor quality items (wood trim, painting, etc.) that you notice.

Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with the workmanship on our new home. Many sloppy finishes that we are now paying out of pocket to fix as warranty work was just as sloppy as the original finishes. We love the area and neighborhood but the move in experience has been painful.

Take your time and ask questions about the final price. The process is broke into multiple phases and each phases comes with additional cost.

Painting was poorly done. Many missed spots and all over every window frame. Cannot after 6 tries get any window in house remotely clean

Warranty service is sketchy so far. I have additional warranty issues but I am reluctant to report.

Found all employees were not very responsive to my request, questions and helpfulness in resolving problems

When I purchased my home I had an issue with the kitchen countertop and a couple of things that we paid for that they didn't install. A month after close they did replace the countertop, but on the install of the new one I pointed out some defects. They sent someone from the manufacturer out to look at the defects in the countertop and 3 months later we are still waiting to hear back. After moving in I noticed all my neighbors had garage door keypads on the outside of their house and I did not. I called the builder and he said I needed to get in touch with warranty. I called the 1-800 number and within a few days Jeff called me and told me my home didn't get that option. I said it was hard to believe when all my neighbors had one and I didn't. He replied that we didn't pay for that option when we built the house. I reached out to the salesmen and got a hold of the build sheet which showed I paid for the garage keypad and a couple more items we did not receive. I called Jeff back and told him the situation which he insisted I email him the build sheet. After a couple days of not hearing nothing from him I texted him wanted to know the status of the garage keypad and he replied back that he could have someone out there Monday afternoon at 1pm. I came home early from work to be their when they arrived and the keypad was installed, but not programed. I waited for the installer to show back up at the appointment time, but nothing. I reached out to Jeff asking him why I am waiting for the installer when we had an appointment and he told me they were in the neighborhood this morning and installed the keypad and it was my responsibility to program it. I took off work when they could of called and cancelled the appointment, but I was never notified by Jeff on the situation. Another item we paid for and did not receive are the shutters for the front window of the house. On the build sheet it shows me a color of the shutters that we are supposed to have and Jeff keeps telling me my home does not receive them. I explained to Jeff that on the build sheet it would show none next to the items that we do not get, but the shutters list a color so we should have shutters. I even went to two of my neighbors and they have a color next to the shutters on build sheet and their shutters are on order from warranty. Dealing with the warranty department is very stressful!! I still have a flood light that we paid for and it was never installed as well and nothing will ever get done unless you keep calling them. ... More

While the homes are beautiful the workmanship is subpar. Make sure you get an independent pre drywall and pre settlement inspection. Money well spent to ensure issues are documented.

Beware....there is no interest in quality of the build and the interior....they just want to turn out as many homes as they can in a short time frame without regard to what the issues. Very disappointing

Houses are being put up overnight. There is a lack of oversight. Our sheetrock was a mess! Paint on finished hardwood floors. Finish work on stairs substandard. NOTHING was sanded prior to paint and urethane, had a huge nail/screw, sticking out of the side of my stair riser. Painted right over it!! House was filthy when we walked in after closing! We entered our house after closing to find no heat, 2 leaky sinks, no hot water master shower, high end dishwasher broken for a month, guts in 3 toilets have been replaced, paint all over hardwood floors, dirty, grout, chipped tile in upgraded master shower, glass in master shower had to be removed so sheetrock could be redone, sheetrock behind powder room sink looked like a patchwork quilt. These issues, along with others, noted at walk through. Enough time to rectify, as closing was delayed 2 days. No, once u sign on the dotted line, all these issues become warranty issues. So much more difficult to remedy when furniture has been moved in. Promises were made, promises not kept. It has taken a month, and we are getting things done. Can use dishwasher, master shower still not right! I guess i’m upset because many times, I’ve been made to feel i’m too picky! Not a custom house! But, when u pay this kind of money, u at least expect a house with passable workmanship. No attention to detail. Pine straw covering construction debris, SC building code states, that if you cannot see IT from 6 ft away, ITS not an issue….. buyer beware. KHOV lives by this code. Everything was moving along nicely and any issues were dealt with quickly and to our satisfaction. THEN, we closed and paid KHov. After that we were pretty much on our own. Items that were told to us after closing; Khov will deliver a new air filter after 30 days in the house. Never happened Khov will do a 45 day walk through to address any issues. Never happened. Showed the ceiling joints were cracking in great room area, Khov will get someone to fix the joints. Never happened. Irrigation did not cover entire yard. Area was 24 feet wide, Khov installed 15 foot fan head. That left 9 feet of yard with out water. Sod died. Nobody would install the proper heads.Khov did not send an irrigation guy to correct. ( our neighbors on both sides have rotator heads covering the wider yards, our yard had a fan head. Khov would not fix it, an employee recognized it was wrong and worked hard to help. Washer and dryer are not side by side, there is a huge gap between them. Hookups in the wall were installed too far apart. Again. We were told that it would be checked out to see what can be done. Never happened. Seems to me that Khov did about anything to close our house and get paid. Once they received the money, we were not that important anymore, Always about the money, do whatever to get the money, once you get it, no urgency or concern. ... More

The workmanship of the various trades is horrible. Talking with other new residents not a single one has had a good experience with the quality of the home. The only good thing is the neighborhood seems to be very friendly.

We like the floor plan of the house very much. We like the flooring very much. I requested an optional window in the bathroom that the salesperson failed to include and charge us for. Even though the sales person took full responsibility in stating their error we were told there was nothing they could do about it since the prints had already been approved by the county without the window. The Front door frame had a crack in it from where the door latches down to the floor. We were told the frame would be replaced but it was not. The crack kept getting Filled in with several coats of paint to disguise it. The door does not fit properly. Neither does the rear door fit properly. There are gouges in trim work in the foyer & throughout the house which look as if a critter chewed on the wood before it was installed. When an insulation crew came through the 2nd time they were not careful with their equipment and marred several corners of finished base moulding, even chipping wood. We have 3 interior doors, one was gouged through and 2 were scratched badly. We were told these would be replaced but the fix was globs of caulk and paint. We have white paint footprints all over our driveway up to our front porch, spattered paint on interior floors, drywall tape seams very evident on ceilings (which was supposed to be fixed prior to our move in) and an interior door casing to the office that is not set centered in the door opening. Our landscaping was set in with several diseased bushes. The sprinkler system gives good coverage but the sod is littered with small pieces of construction material (very unsightly) and rocks. I have been daily picking this stuff up fearing the lawn machines will pick it up and throw it into a house or vehicle. Many discrepancies found during pre-close walk still undone on closing day. Overall detail workmanship shows lack of attention to detail.

We came several times before purchasing and were very excited to relocate. Sales staff was very good. Design person was excellent. Builder not so much. It took 3 months after closing to get brick on front porch...Still not done. Even though houses yet to close getting done. A lot of excuses. No quality control. The folks that live here that we have met are great, so just know that there are frustrations with the building and it hasn't just been with us. Standard has dropped.

I've had seven homes built in the pas 35 years This is by far the worst. The quality is the worst of the worst

I've had to use a contractor to correct the shoddy work that went into the building of this house. My question is: Who is paying off the inspectors to pass the "pop and slop" that goes into the construction of these homes.

We have nothing but problems since we moved in July, can't believe the poor workmanship and installation for the price paid for this house.

Our home was not complete on the day we closed. A couple of examples include the microwave was crushed and did not work. There was no glass installed for the shower, the toilet in the master bath was completely cracked and half the vanities in both bathrooms had rust stains on them that were not able to come out. The painting was atrocious every room everywhere needs to be repainted. the trim had huge gouges out of it. This house was not ready for closing since we moved in. It is constant repair and warranty work. This has not been a pleasant experience and has taken the joy out of purchasing our home. ... More

This house has so many issues I don’t know where to start. Shoddy construction, trash, glass and nails left in garage. Openings in house where frogs enter. Workers not showing up, some reek of pot — no wonder! Paint splatters all over, damaged cabinets, damaged faucets, two cars do not fit in garage, never told that when choosing house model. I have deep regrets and am profoundly disappointed.

First and foremost, we love the area and the development. The workmanship that went into the building of our home is subpar at best. We spent another $4,500 to have the home painted prior to moving in; due to the poor paint job done by the builder. We are still removing paint from the floor from overspray and drips. Uneven wall fixtures and lights in the bathrooms. I am not even getting into the siding that I discussed with the builder numerous times. Only to be told, that's just the way it is (paraphrase). Overall very disappointed in the house and what we have to do to bring it up to par. These are not inexpensive homes but they sure are built that way. The builders non responsiveness makes it worse. Again, love the community and area. Having to do it again, I would broaden my search in the area. There have to be better more thoughtful builders in the area who respond to the homeowners request. We have built 2 new homes prior to this experience, this was the worst experience we've had. This builder is focused on their financials rather than the customer and building a quality home and a trusting relationship with the customer. Even with Covid-19 excuses, we had to close without the home being completed. Sales: There were items not disclosed that should have been. We ordered and paid for a 9 foot sliding glass door upgrade that was represented in a model with 2 moving door panels and 1 stationary panel. We received a 9 foot door with 1 moving panel that open 26 inches and 2 stationary panels. Structurally, we were informed the concrete slab cannot be broken up. However, during construction ours had to be broken up in 5 separate locations due to incorrect placements. Our salesman never followed up after structural design. Mortgage: continually requested the same information over and over even when it was already provided. Looking back we would never use this mortgage company again - most difficult we've experienced. Without our knowledge, KHOV Mortgage contacted their preferred real estate lawyers and insurance company as if we were not given a choice. Construction: We believe our builder was overwhelmed with 20 homes being built simultaneously in various stages of construction (this exceeds any accepted standard on span of control). This resulted in poor oversight by the builder and lower quality of construction. As of this writing we are 30+ days after closing with still incomplete construction (1 unusable shower, 2 unusable sinks). During our pre-drywall inspection, broken trusses were discovered, misplaced electrical outlets and misplaced drain pipes in the slab. Referring to the 9 foot 3 panel sliding glass door (above), we were informed by Bob Citrolo that a decision was made in 2019 to discontinue this option, yet the sales team as late as Oct 2020 were still selling this option as described above (2 moving panels, 1 stationary panel). Transparency and honesty do not seem to be qualities that KHOV instills in their culture. It is all about how many homes they can close each month to meet their financial projections. ... More
