Contractors KB home uses are horible

Plumbing contractor states loose sink does not need to be fixed. Painter was good but contractor that does medicine cabinet replaced damaged medicine cabinet with another damaged medicine cabinet. Contractors have no regard for dirt as they track in mud with their boots and do not offer to clean up their mess.

KB homes is affordable for most families. Our best experience was with the real estate agent assigned to the new homesite. They definitely need to improve with the quality of workmanship that goes into the home.

The have been several issues with the home that needed to be addressed. After multiple phone calls and an appointed date to get issues resolved, the are still repairs that need to be made and not looked into. We were assured all of our concerns would be addressed and corrected in one visit. That was not truthful.

All I can say is, have your builder fix everything before closing, after closing the trades are slow to respond. Holding up closing is the only way to hold the builder accountable for the repairs. After closing you are a low priority, they want the other houses to be built as fast as possible.

Sales Team Great, rest not so much

Trisha and Ed were amazing to work with. After we moved in is when we noticed craftsmanship issues and just the overall quality of work is not what I would say meets standards. We started to get issues fixed then that halted and we haven't heard back from anyone. The person who did our walk through said since it's after 30 days he can no longer help us and we needed to continue the process with Brandi, who has yet to return our call. Needless to say the sales office is amazing but the rest has fallen short.

Although the overall experience of purchasing our first home with KB homes has been pretty good dealing with sales agents and the loan officers, after move in, we have come to realize the quality of work is not great. We have had issues (mainly cosmetic) , but also issues with insulation, a dented stove upon move in, and some plumbing issues. We have been told countless times that contractors were coming out on a certain date and time to fix these issues, and after moving things around to ensure we’re home, no one has come. Hoping to get these resolved soon as it has now been over a month. ...

Disappointed

We began the new build process in May of 2022. In order to purchase the home we had to sell the existing home as we were told they only wanted owner occupancy which was not true. It took over 14 months for the completion. They gave us the closing date but the home was not ready and it delayed us an additional 2 weeks. After move in, we found things that needed to be addressed; however nothing has been done and we are still waiting.

A less than great rating on quality and trustworthiness. I do commend the sales associate, construction supervisors for addressing all concerns immediately upon communication to them. Not complimentary of the subcontractor's used to build the home. Several major items missed that should have been completed upon build up of the home.

Are you kidding me?

  • James H.

Sales did not mention the home was being built in a flood zone. Although it would be changed months later it was an issue at closing. KB does minimum standards ex: your block wall will look unfinished as a row will not be finished. Talk about looking goofy. They don’t put down weed control so your yard will have weeds pop up shortly after you move in. Contract work goes without inspection being down. There is trash laying around perimeter where contractors finished a project but cleanup has not been completed. Warped studs used in construction of house. Contractors hitting the wall so hard in ...

KB uses the cheapest sub contractors possible and it clearly shows in their workmanship. KB employees will try their best to make best of a situation but the work actually being completed during construction is horrendous.

The beginning process was very good. They answered all my questions and kept me Posted along the way. However, I decided to go with KB’s finance department and it was the worse experience ever. Just one month before closing, they decided to not approve me after all and the agent who was handling my loan lied about the reasons why all of a sudden didn’t qualify. I then had to go with a different lender. Serious integrity issues. It was a complete nightmare dealing with KB in general. It’s been three months since I’ve moved in and the house still hasn’t been completely finished because it ...
