Overall, the buying experience left a little to be desired. We had multiple salespeople and none of them were top notch. The individual that we met with in the design studio was great. The design studio could of had more options but overall still made some good picks. Our superintendent was awesome and very helpful. He made our home buying experience better than anyone else we dealt with. If we had to go back, we are not sure we would purchase from KB again, but we do love our home. Gave them 4 stars because our superintendent made up for other areas that were lacking.

We managed to buy a new home. Overall, the construction quality seems fine, and the construction superintendent was good at getting contractors to fix a handful of little things. The company was not impressive, though. The floor plan has quite a bit of wasted space, particularly in bathrooms. There is no gas service or phone-company service (CenturyLink) in the neighborhood. That means no gas appliances and no competition for internet service. Great Communication, but issues at the end.

I overall had a positive experience. I’m happy with my home, but there have been issues at the end when we moved in. Our Dishwasher didn’t work when we moved in, and it took several phone calls and emails to get at response from the builder. We still have a broken closet door, and a shower that constantly drips. We were sold that KB was good with details, but that hasn’t been our experience. During the construction process though they were great. Great communication, and super helpful. It’s just too bad, we had so many things not working when we moved in.

These homes are built extremely fast and that comes with plenty of issues. Also comes with lack of quality of the home. These homes are pretty expensive and I have not been pleased with the quality of the construction work and the responsiveness from the construction team to get certain details of the time fixed.

The loan processor and agent Corey were helpful and responded to all my questions timely. The sales agent Susan was great as well. The issue is dealing with warranty. I have paint that is cracked, baseboards that are damaged, missing caps on the rain caps on the roof, scratched sink…the list goes on. I submitted these concerns in October and none have been resolved. I was given an in person appointment October 11th so I guess we’ll see how that works out.

We love our home in Gold Canyon, AZ. Structurally the house is sound but the trade work inside is not up to par for what you spend on these homes. Make sure you get an independent inspector to inspect the work along the way and it would be valuable to have a realtor to advocate for you! It’s a must if you want to stay on top of the whole process. The Forman and salesman were nice but communication was severely lacking. KB Homes can do better to make sure the homes they build are top of the line for the cost.

I have some many issues with this house that have not been taken care of yet. I have asked many times to get these issues addressed and some easy ones were taken care of, however, the dangerous one were not taken care of as of today. We just want to be safe and not be a burden. We feel that our concerns don’t matter. In the future, I don’t believe I will recommend KB to my friends.

The house was absolutely beautiful. The only issue was the front landscaping they kept replacing dead plants with 1/2 dead plants that died a few days later. Also why would the final customer service rep close a work order for plants that i refused to sign because the job was not done to my satisfaction. Also workers and supers and even the customer service rep coming to house without masks during a pandemic.

Responsiveness to issues is zero. They were supposed to have a 10 day walk through with me after packing into the house. They never did. I have called, gone to the sales office and reported issues in the new house and up till this moment nobody has gotten back to me. One of the issues I have is the toilet. It doesn't flush properly, nothing is occluded the passage. Probably an engineering error, I would guess. It's so frustrating that I just packed into a newly built house with just one toilet in a four bedroom house. This is really a bad experience. I wish I could talk to a superior ...

There were issues not accurate represented before or during the final walkthrough. Primarily, there is a significant termite infestation throughout the entire neighborhood. Another issue is the water meter was completely broken and is still not fixed. KBHome never even informed me of this issue, I learned this when the water utility company told me they can't setup an account until it's fixed. With that said, I am still happy with the home. You generally get what you pay for. Important too is that KBHome is significantly better than other production home builders in the area.

Our down payment wire was lost by KB mortgage for 5 days, living room texturing very poor quality and roofing subcontractor performance was way below par extending our closing by a month. Other than that, they were great overall.

Have had multiple customer service requests to be fixed after closing, however KB seems to be very responsive to those requests to get them resolved. Windows replaced. Still waiting call from company for Microwave to be replaced, stove clips to be installed (Customer service turned it over to appliance company as of 2 days ago), cabinet door replacement and a few door/drawer fixes scheduled Dec 31.

Great Purchasing Experience, Terrible Delivery Experience

The Sales Team throughout the KB Network were amazing. When we landed on Mystic Vista as the community with our preferred home, we received exceptional service from the Sales Team (Heidi was amazing) and the lending team (Ioana & Roxanna were fantastic), but once we signed and took the keys, we had problem after problem. Starting with a laundry list of poor finish work and culminating with multiple vendor issues and communication difficulties with the post-sale team. Buying a new-build home was more frustrating than expected due to poor workmanship, in-perfection painting, and rushed finishes. While the warranty service has been great and responsive, it’s frustrating that so many repairs were needed in the first place. The unfinished landscaping and ongoing construction noise have also been disappointing. If you’re considering a new build, research the builder thoroughly and be prepared for potential quality issues.

Made me pay my upgrades before house closing at design studio after I was already locked into a contract with an earnest deposit. I think kb could’ve done a better job at making that clear ahead of signing contract. Typically including on my prior kb purchase if your purchase amount is higher than your prequal you come in with the difference at closing not before closing on your home. Also, Has a lot of issues with minor things that were not addressed promptly and still waiting on certain things to be addressed in the home.

Builder Supervisor Makes Promises But No Follow Up

Having asthma and allergies to pollen I had in my Sales Contract not to plant any trees or shrubs that produce pollen. Construction supervisor has continually promised o supply me with the plants he had landscaper plant in my front yard months ago. I have continually requested this info to no avail. He keeps saying he’ll request it and forward to me. I need the info to verify they don’t produce pollen, and also to care and maintain the plants. He never follows up on my numerous requests and I’m really frustrated with his non-responsiveness.

KB IS A BUDGET VALUE HOME BUILDER

KB homes are budget value homes. The homes are plain looking and built with for most part good quality materials. Their base prices offer minimal upgrades. If you are a first time home buyer or on a strict budget then KB homes will fit your needs. Unfortunately, the obvious poor workmanship stood out immediately when we were watching our home’s building progress from start to finish. One thing I learned is that when you purchase upgrades, what you think you are getting , is not what you expected. I am pretty good at questioning, but in this case I didn’t know what to ask, or that I had to ask. I feel like the design center should be fully upfront and offering to explain what exactly you are spending your hard earned money on. They are all friendly enough and pleasant, but in hindsight I wish they would have been more willing to offer info- some things I am disappointed in after paying so much extra.
