This was not the experience I was expecting when purchasing a new home built from the ground up. Too many issues. Not enough communication. Too many issues after communication. No one seemed to be on the same page. Sales or construction supervisors. Had multiple supervisors the right hand never seem to know what the left was doing.

The best home buying experience I have ever had. It was an all around great process.

They said was getting the model home only bigger. It was jot the model home it was very different no shutters, no railway, no rock outside the house. So felt very mislead. The dryer wiring was done incorrectly, the house was dirty upon move in, grout still not done in some rooms. Outlets not working. They literally put the cheapest materials possible toilets seats brand new were sliding all over the place had to replace screws. Paint wad only one thin coat you barely bump it or wash it comes off and leaves a bare spot in the wall. Cabinets were unfinished in bathroom and kitchen. They promise they will get to it in a timely manner but never show up. Or text a few minutes before coming with no wchedule and say we are coming. The house was poorly built snd through together as fast as possible with little quality and charged top dollar. Issues still not fixed. Has been beyond frustrating i cannot reccomend kn homes to anyone. ... More

My home buying experience took a bit longer than expected but well worth the wait! Reed was very professional and responsive to my concerns and was able to provide me with everything I asked for in a timely manner. I highly recommend him for anyone looking to purchase a new KB home. Also, Justin has been a pleasure working with and has followed up with any issues I’ve addressed. Overall, I’ve been very pleased with the outcome of my new KB home and love my beautiful house! Took a few month more to complete the home, but over all it's done and I'm enjoying it.

KB homes are budget value homes. The homes are plain looking and built with for most part good quality materials. Their base prices offer minimal upgrades. If you are a first time home buyer or on a strict budget then KB homes will fit your needs. Unfortunately, the obvious poor workmanship stood out immediately when we were watching our home’s building progress from start to finish. The poor workmanship was mostly carelessness of the workers and the way they treated their job site. The building plans themselves were in question as well. Here is some examples: The bathtub in the second bathroom was treated as a trash can during construction. The back yard was treated as a trash can for workers water bottles, cigarette butts and other trash. The painting has massive air bubbles and the touch up that was never ending. Every door in the house has damaged bottoms from when the workers or worker slammed them down in the garage. The drywall was installed before the roof was completed which caused damage to the drywall after it rained and snowed on and in the house. All the damaged drywall was replaced. The garage floor and back patio was permanently damaged from flooring installation glue. The flooring quarter round was installed with the wrong color. The baseboards were installing wrong the first time. We waited a month for our ceiling fans to get installed and fixed. We are still waiting for our flooring to get corrected. Our cabinets were a disaster. Doors were warped, knobs installed crooked and one knob still missing and touch up needed in several areas. These are some examples not everything. I understand all new home builds will need touch up and fixes but a lot of these issues were caused by workers not caring about their workmanship and improper builder supervision. KB has shown their concern over these matters and has made every effort to correct these issues and are still being corrected. They should offer two tone paint and semigloss throughout the house. We felt we got a good price for our home, however it was a lot of effort and still is to get everything corrected. ... More

To Susan, she was my initial contact with KB Homes, which not only helped me select the model I now call my forever home, she also stood by my family throughout the entire process, and even after we moved in to our home, she still keeps in contact to make sure we are doing ok. To Doug, who guided me through the monumental task of providing the proper documentation to satisfy the requirements needed to qualify for a KB Home, to Jacki, the numbers guru who made sure everything was in order with the loan, and finally to Don, who made sure that everything in my house was up to par, and made necessary corrections on requesting. He consistent checked to make sure we had everything we needed. Being first-time home builders (not buyers), we were impressed with the amount of say we had when it came to customizing our home compared to other builders in the area. Throughout the entire process, KB was upfront about price, timeline, potential delays, and overall what to expect. We didn't feel like just another contract to them, but that was largely due to the fantastic sales team we worked with, specifically Julie B.. Her initial greeting was warm and welcoming, no pressure to buy, and answered any and all of our MANY questions that we had along the way. She was available any time and was our advocate when we needed her. Without her, we wouldn't have purchased a home through KB. When Julie wasn't in the office, her counterpart Michelle K. was equally as welcoming and warm, and helped us build the home of our dreams. Thomas Z. was our super and also without him, we would not have been as satisfied with how things turned out. One thing I learned is that when you purchase upgrades, what you think you are getting , is not what you expected. I am pretty good at questioning, but in this case I didn’t know what to ask, or that I had to ask. I feel like the design center should be fully upfront and offering to explain what exactly you are spending your hard earned money on. They are all friendly enough and pleasant, but in hindsight I wish they would have been more willing to offer info- some things I am disappointed in after paying so much extra.

The house I purchased was not new but broken, ruined, damaged.... I overpaid for this home based on the quality and workmanship. I have been requesting repairs for months. These repairs should have been made prior to me purchasing this home. I will never buy a KB home again. I asked for you to take your home back but you refuse to do that. I do not want a KB Home. My opinion is just getting worse not better with each person or issue.

From the initial contact with Reed in the sales office to our walk thru and consultation with Justin the construction manager we were very impressed with the consistent contact they maintained with us through the process. We had no regrets buying a home through KB Homes !!

Issues that were address at the beginning have not been fixed. I get told dates and still no one comes out. Would be nice to at least get an update.

This is my first home purchase and I have been so pleased with the outcome and process. My first experience with KB at the Entrada Del Oro location was with Reed. Reed took the time to show me everything, he was patient and listened to my situation and found a way for everything to work. My loan office Ioana was also fantastic, she took care of me and guided me through everything and made the process stress free and coached me along the way. Lastly the contractor Justin has been AMAZING since I walked the home and got into the home he took care of everything and didn’t skip a beat. A whole lot hasn’t been done and haven’t gotten a response, house wasn’t finished when I moved in and every time I ask when something will be done I don’t get a definitive answer.

I will say getting in contact with Susan and the other ladies was awesome! They were very helpful and responsive. Whenever I had an issue I knew I could give her a call and the team would help right away. I will say the house itself is great, there were a few hiccups on the building of the home. Overall experience was great!

The home buying with KB finance was great. The problems found before closing were fixed in a timely manner. The only minus it took longer than expected 3 months longer. I realize there were delays with weather and vendors. It’s a beautiful home though and I would recommend a KB home For the workmanship and pricing.

Just know what materials are being used in kitchen, cabinets, roofing underlayment. They are builders and may have a great home, or just an average home. It depends on what was picked for the build.

Overall, the buying experience was pretty good. The salesperson was great and we got lucky with a good (but busy) construction manager. Timeliness to fix issues is decent for the most part (except the big projects and contracted companies like windows/cabinets). Still waiting on a lot to get finished and do feel like nothing from the New Home Orientation Walkthrough was actually addressed for the final walkthrough (just couldn't delay closing so needed to accept it as is-terrible position to put people in). Still unhappy about my driveway which had large cracks on every pad except the one they had already replaced and doesn't match - my driveway within the first month on my new build $400k home looks like Frankenstein and is such a huge eyesore, only thing I absolutely HATE about this house. The walls are THIN, like drywall anchors just go straight through so good luck hanging anything unless you're lucky enough to find a stud. I was told they're 16", but have found most are 24"-28" unless it's an exterior wall & definitely not thrilled about that. The rounded corners buckle as soon as they're barely hit, so be VERY careful even touching them. They are an extremely thin material. Corners get hit the most so for these to be so flimsy is kind of crazy, and I can't believe what they use is even acceptable on a build. On the good side, we looked at a LOT of homes, both new and previously owned, and KB Home hands down has the best floorplans. Like there's no comparison. All the new build homes are too close together so can't judge them on that, but also they're SUPER close together. The build itself needs work, and better quality materials. All the new home spec-type builders build this way and it's unfortunate that they're allowed to use such cheap materials and still charge an arm & a leg for a home. Sales team and finance department were great, buying process itself was great, construction manager has been great (definitely a huge plus to have one that actually seems to care to very, very thankful for that). I do think KB has better quality homes than the other new home builders in this area so overall I am happy about most of it! ... More

Make sure you look for Ed. He gives the best attention to detail and quality customer service and listens to your needs and desires when customizing your house. Sometimes I felt he was my realtor. You don't find many great people like Ed these days in the real estate world. The quality of the build of certain things in the house overall was good. There are some things that could use improvement such as better door handles for example but overall combined together it was a very good experience with sales and the neighborhood.
