My preparation from Texas was great, I could not believe how smooth the process went. I was disappointed on the initial walk thru at the number of issues that needed to be done. But all the people I dealt with were awesome and willing to help in any way they could. It would have been nice if all the construction was complete, especially when the houses are so close together. I would have liked more choices on the flooring as I am not a big fan of carpet in the main living areas. I still have a few issues to be resolved and because of all the work still needed to be done in the area, it makes it harder to get issues resolved. We had some pandemic quality issues but those are being resolved by KB Homes now.

Things were mostly smooth, but glad the process finally came to an end.

Contractors for outside stucco had to come back to repair crapy work. Painters had to come back to repaint an area under the eaves all around the house.

KB offers decent value for the money and shines in its pre move in time. Overall workmanship of initial construction was fairly good although home was not throughly inspected to find errors. One week waiting period between walk through and final acceptance is costly for out of state buyers and KB offers no compensation. Overall I would give them a B+.

The whole process was very smooth with just the right amount of choices along the way. House was delivered on time (during a pandemic, even) but with a few workmanship issues. Resolving these has been ongoing, not due to delays but apparently from corporate KB interfering with the local office. But so far, we love our new house.

KB homes have always been a great builder and quality craftsmanship.

Buying experience was great. Winnie and Jeff were very responsive and great to work with. Once I moved in, the response was less immediate. I either have had to fix the small concerns myself or continue to wait for them to be fixed. Although I have had a few hiccups, I would say overall it was a great experience.

We bought a spec home so we did not get to pick the upgrades. The upgrades chosen by the design studio were very good choices. We would have only made a few alterations. Some of the workmanship on the drywalling and texturing was below average. We have been in only 1 1/2 months so we haven't dealt with response to warranty issues, yet. I'm not sure I'd use KB Home Loans. The process was easy but the loan has been sold twice and there has been a change in the fee structures.

The home I purchased in Tucson is overall wonderful. KB Homes designed and built a very good, solid home. It is in a great location, central to many conveniences. The home is priced competitively. The design is excellent, with a spacious great room as well as spacious bedrooms and closets. The home has some very nice views of the mountains. Upgraded floor tiles and kitchen cabinets and backsplash are beautiful. I have been looking for a house for about a year and this home was the first that met most of my criteria. KB sales agent was very helpful with the home purchase process. KB staff is friendly and want to help. However, there were many smaller issues that needed repair in the home prior to when I moved in and they did not all get fixed after the walk-through and prior to the close of escrow, So I now am still getting these things fixed a few months after moving in, which is not ideal. Many of these issues could have been prevented if the building superintendent or his staff had checked on the quality of their work. For example, dirty gloves and nails were left on the roof of the patio cover, paint was uneven, paint was found on carpet, floors, and even cabinets, master bath exhaust fan not working, master shower door was stuck and not lined up to close, front porch light was not working, half of the plants put in the front yard were poor quality or nearly dead. This is only a partial list but shows that home was rushed to complete on time without attention to quality. Customer service afterward was good and there is a good warranty on the home, but it would have been much better if KB found and corrected the issues prior to the client noticing. Also, with all the construction going on, there is often trash blowing over my front yard, and broken tiles and nails on the road. The common areas also have trash and broken glass which makes it difficult for me to walk my dog. It probably would be better to not allow clients to live in the area until all the construction is complete and everything is safe and clean. A lot of issues were overlooked due to lack of craftsmanship and quality of workers. Simple things that could have been adressed in the matter of a few moments left to be ignored.

Take look at the plans and options. Don’t be to quick in deciding on options.

The issues I have had have all been post move in. The sales and construction process were great. Lee and Byron were always quick to respond. Since move in the customer service has been very difficult to get any responses from.

Not satisfied

Had an issue with the oven. After only a few uses, the starter switch broke. Didn’t have an oven for a week.The shower leaked onto the baseboard due to poor workmanship. The refrigerator was scratched and had to be replaced. Seems as if the trades people are lacking an attention to detail. Too many major or minor repairs. It’s frustrating.

We closed on our new home with multiple punch list items needing to be addressed. The project manager(s) seem to be doing their best to get all the subcontractors back to the house to complete all items to our expectation. I can understand how hard it is to get subcontractors back once the closing occurred, but I wish more could be done. We closed over 60 days ago.

Pressed board kitchen cabinets and vanities, not even wood. Front door fell off one of the kitchen drawers after only 6 wks in the house. No drawers in either vanity cabinets. Refrig door handle falling off. Cheap bathroom fixtures. Kitchen cabinets too far up from the counter top. Can only reach first 2 shelves, others are useless. Just a lot of short cuts.

Asked the same questions, promised, but never got answers.

Build times are longer these days. So plan on at least 9-10 months. The construction was done well and to our specifications.

Home seems well build.. we have an outlet that should be half hot that is not, so we have a wall switch that does nothing. We never got a 60 day walk thru we were told we would get..

Things seemed a little rough at first. Now, things are being done to get the house in great shape. Everybody is very nice, trying their best to be accommodating.

Problems with Purchasing Dept specifications and subs completing work.

Overall I think KB Homes are good homes to buy. This is my second time buying a KB Home. The first home I purchased was in CA 30 years ago. Great experience! This is my second KB Home. It is in AZ. Not a great experience! I was mistakenly expecting the same customer service as my CA experience. I will only mention the major problem because of time. The home I purchased was completed in June 2019. I looked at the house in December 2019 and decided to purchase it. We moved in at the beginning of February 2020. There were two electrical outlets in the second floor that did not work and four on the first floor. It is now April and I am still waiting for the work to be completed. My main concern regarding the customer service is why they did not check the house to ensure ALL of the electrical outlets were working properly BEFORE we moved into the house! There was plenty of time to do it. My son slept through one of the appointments since he works during the night. It was delayed for three weeks to be completed because of that! The day of the appointment to return, the customer service representative did not call to let me know the appointment was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic! So, my son was up all night and day because of his inconsideration! We should NEVER have been inconvenienced by the repairs since this should have been checked BEFORE we moved in! The cement in my driveway and sidewalk in front of my house did not cure property. It is gray and speckled when every house on the block and around the corner is white. It’s not right.
