Second home

My husband and I felt our second home buying experience went smoothly with the exception of delays which at times couldn’t be helped. We enjoyed the sales office personnel and the ladies were both very helpful and prompt. The complaint that we have is that several things ( crooked drawers, crooked appliances, crooked fences) were installed poorly the first time then the tradesmen had to come back to install correctly a second time. A better eye for detail needs to be embraced so that there isn’t poor workmanship passed on to the owner and more work later for KBHomes.

The home buying experience is stressful time but they stayed on schedule the entire time and I closed earlier than expected. There was little choice of selection of finishes unless you wanted to upgrade….for the price they should have offered more options included in price. Just moved in so my issues are being taken care of slowly. Everyone has been courteous and helpful.

A solid house, but there was a lack of trust to the sales rep afterwards

We bought our house from KB Home in Valley Center, CA. I asked a sales rep not to rush closing the deal as I wanted to avoid any mistakes. She made us feel that we had no choice, but to buy one of "the last two" houses left, while a half of the community was still being built. Then she neglected to offer us to customize our house in their KB Studio. The house, which she offered was completely built out and we had no choice, but to agree to buy it as it was without any customization. The funny thing is that they are still showing and building those houses. Was she lying to us in the first ...

We found KB Cadence when it was a dirt lot. We were urged to put down our earnest deposit and sell our current home to secure a spot for the new home that would be complete in 6 months. Great! However, the 6 months turned into 1 year and 6 months. In that time I had to move three times because no one could provide an accurate completion date. So much so that we stopped getting an idea of when the house would be done altogether. Agonizing and displacing. It would have been nice to have clear, consistent and (at the very least) transparent communication/expectation setting with accurate lead ...

I think new homes these days are never going to be great quality, just because of the rushed deadlines. The best you can hope for is a builder who takes accountability and will fix things (even if it does take a while).

First we were three weeks past our estimated closing date. So we were expecting the home to be “finished” when we closed. There were numerous items not done or working. Heat did not work for over 5 days. Loaner Kitchen fan not working. Missing outlets in living room and outside. And the house had not been cleaned. They promised touch ups in thirty days, it’s been two months no touch up. List is too long to put here. We’ve had several phone calls with customer service and supervisor. They promise to get on top of it, but rarely update us. They also promise to visit and do not show up. Our ...

Angelina, the sale person is an angel, very knowledgeable and helpful. Treat my buying like hers, very kind and caring. House is good, wish there is more bathroom compare to amount of bedroom. WILL NOT buy through KBHS loan -very pleasant in the beginning but very dishonest. Make you to sign and says she will fix but continue to drag with same price. NEVER EVER sign something that you didn't agree.

The home is absolutely beautiful. The entire staff from the construction team to the sales team are professional and friendly. There are some issues with its corporate management. They are non-responsive. Happy with the home but not happy with how certain concerns are handled or should I say ignored.

1. Make sure you look at the model / plan before purchase. This detached home come with neighborhood's air-condition sit inside your back yard and the air blow into your living room sidedoor when the AC is on. 2. They do an unnecessary plant/tree on the sideway to backyard where a paveway is needed instead for trash can to pull into backyard. Because of the plant/tree, there is $200 cost to submit to HOA for review just to remove the plant/tree and add out of pocket to add paveway. 3. Don't sign any closing document until they fix all the issues during walkthrough. Also, make sure it is ...

The Kb team responded quickly to our concerns. A water leak was discovered before closing that was addressed quickly. Another water leak was discovered upon inspection. Inspection showed the water pressure regulator, for our new home, is not working and the actual water pressure is double the normal one. We reported that to Kb. 2 Toilet tanks were cracked and leaking. One was replaced quickly. Plumbing contractor tried to address the other one in different ways resulting in more leaks and delays. Almost 2 weeks later, we found that the water pressure regulator was not fixed and the pressure ...

While the overall homebuying experience was not terrible, the delivery delays were incredibly frustrating. The most disappointing piece is some of the delays were avoidable but the builders poor communication and honesty was not transparent. The attention to detail in the home was lacking. Finishing details and QC before items were installed and permanently affixed is lacking. Care of craftsmanship missing. For the cost of the home, my expectations were much higher and it's obvious that things were done in a rush, which is frustrating because now I'm the one left to deal with the warranty ...

The sales team and building super were very helpful. The loan process with KB was an absolute nightmare. Also once the 30 days are up for the team to touch up items, the team was pretty unresponsive. Make sure to get things in writing and email proof as that will be the letter of the law that they abide by.

KB Home - Everything is great about the home.

Everything is great about the home. I would give 5 stars on everything. However, the brand new house came with mice since day 1. They sent out pest control within a few days, and all pest control did was say mice may have already been in the house before we moved. A month and a half later mice start showing up again. Asked customer service for help to determine how mice were getting in and was told by Customer Service this was basically my problem now. It's very heartbreaking being a first time home owner and buying a home with mice from the beginning.

Nice home but after being in it for a month quality control was obviously lacking

I purchased a new home and after moving in it became obvious that the quality control was poorly managed or nonexistent. The painting was poorly completed and the subsequent touchups that were done were done in a different finish. There are other issues as well, including the dishwasher not being installed properly which resulted in it flooding the kitchen. They respond quickly to the issues but it is obvious that no one tested anything before I purchased the home and I wonder what else was not properly tested. It seems to me that they slap that houses up as fast and cheaply as possible and ...

Poor workmanship

The more I walk through the home , the more I find needing to be fixed. Most of what need to be fixed is from poor workmanship and what appears to be lack of oversight. Walls that curve, carpet with lumps, squeaky floors I have gathered 3 pages so far. KB has a good product . They really need to watch the contractors closer. KB has been challenged with the fact that Covid-19 hit and they had to lay off numerous employees. They did still push the house to market to achieve their financial goal . Unfortunately for us, we are the ones paying for it.

I suppose when a developer is going a million miles an hour to build out a new housing community, there's going to be some misses. But some are hard to get past: a dented dishwasher that didn't match the make and model originally chosen, AC installation that had the drainage lines hooked up backwards, granite counters unsealed and cracked to such an extent that the entire slab needs replacement, cabinets for a built-in fridge with a cutout too narrow to fit a standard 36" fridge, missing garage door opener panel... I could go on. It takes an exhausting amount of time and energy to ...
