Super intendant promised some items and gifts he was going to add to the house because we were so patient with them and at the end didn't get anything. Oh and the garage concrete was finished horribly. Looks like they didn't have finishers and just had laborers do a bad job

Matt, Peter and Roger are great at what they do and very pleasant to work with. They are the team that build your house from ground up. Unfortunately for them, the sales team and K.B.H.S, fell significantly short in providing satisfactory customer service. My wife and I felt that K.B.H.S and the sales team were unprofessional and careless. They had their own agenda and did not work with our needs. K.B.H.S told us that we were asking too many questions and it was starting to upset their upper management team. Keep in mind, the questions we were asking were as follows: 1.What is the difference in rate between 15 year fix and 30 year fix? 2. Will they match interest rate with a competitor? 3. Please provide a breakdown of interest between the 2 options? 4. Would it be better if we do a jumbo loan or a conventional? Apparently, these four questions were enough to upset the upper management of K.B.H.S. One week prior to our closing date, K.B.H.S told us we do not qualify for the loan and there was nothing they could do about it. At this time, my wife and I were forced to look into other loan companies and got approved with Cherry Creek Mortgage. As soon as we got approved my Cherry Creek Mortgage company, K.B.H.S said, "We have great news for you, we can match what Cherry Creek Mortgage is offering you." However, K.B.H.S was forcing us to close with them because, they told us that if we can not close with them on May 24th, each additional day will cost my wife and I $600 in penalties. Anyways, I can go on and on. In short, do not use K.B.H.S and make sure you get your own real estate agent involved. Signing on with KB Homes came with a promise of “weekly” updates; as well as 5 site visits. We were disappointed with the fact we didn’t get weekly updates. The reason was usually that there was a monthly Monday meeting. If that is the schedule then call on Tuesday, don’t skip a week. The site visits were as expected for the first 3 but then they were compacted together. Lastly, the amount of trash left on site (both on top of and under the bark) is unacceptable. I have found the expected nails & staples; however chunks of twisted metal, sheets of plastic and particularly a 8ft rebar (under the bark) is a bit much and I would expect respect for the property, not a “hurry and move on”. Because that is how it represents itself. After the move in stay in contact with the customer service rep to take care of issues. Kelly the sales person almost never responded to emails. My realtor, myself, and my lender would send her things and I would have to call several times just to get a response. Timelines were critical, the whole home building process took over a year. Understandable, with COVID there were a ton of supply chain issues, those were communicated to me. The last couple months, the delays were totally in their control. Like ordering the wrong backsplash, ordering the wrong color floor transitions, failing HVAC inspection 3 times. The dates they were giving me to close kept falling through and my lender kept having to unlock my rate (each time getting substantially more expensive to do) and they little to no consideration or compensation. It was almost as if they were doing it purposely for me to pull out so they could sell it for more. On top of that I had to give my apts 30 days notice to move out and they refused to give me a good timeframe. I, instead, gave them a deadline because the Wait and move were becoming increasingly more expensive which was not fair to me, especially when the issues were unavoidable. Doug was the one who communicated with myself and the realtor through the last 30 days. He was responsible and made it happen. He made himself accessible to me, when it should have been Kelly. Doug was very personable, he was very responsive and pretty much did his and Kelly’s job at the end. Roger became rude after I asked him for communication and updates, when he told me to call him if I had any issues. He didn’t have to give me his number. The KB lender was telling people they had to apply with them in order for the builders to honor the purchase agreement. Which was untrue!!!!! Now Al is great, Briana at the design studio was super helpful. Also I been in my house 2 months and still have the wrong floor transitions and my screen was installed torn. They were supposed to finish my transitions on the 29th of June, I’m still waiting. Now I’m being told they had to reorder them. Overall very satisfied with the house, the process was a nightmare. I had to communicate closing with my lender, realtor, title company and Doug. I should have gotten paid as the sales clerk having to do all that by myself. Nobody reached out to me, again I Doug had to call me asking where I was because I closed. Nobody let my team know. I could go on and on, bottom line I would not recommend for anybody's first home buying experience. I’d rather have paid a higher price and deal with better customer service. ... More

Our KB home experience was terrible. From the sales team, to the finishing touches on our new home, our overall experience was one of the worst. Our sales rep showed little to no support or effort during our building process. Her knowledge of timelines and the overall process was lacking. Our Head contractor and Lender were awesome. However, since we have moved in, the individual in charge of repairs has done little to nothing, and we have had to hound him just to get fixes completed. (To little prevail) We have sent in many requests to have our complaints addressed, but KB home has not rendered any solution. We absolutely do not recommend buying from KB home. ... More

Terrible experience with building team and sales. Not a builder who keeps the customer in mind since everything done is always rushing the customer. Mistakes were made by builder yet customer has to pay the price. Unable to trust Tami, Nick, and Al.

Given this horrendous disappointing experience with sales, construction and customer service, we do not plan to do business with KB Homes again nor recommend KB Homes as a viable option. We take pride in companies that display respect, dignity, integrity, accountability and sincere customer service. We have had experiences with The New Home Company and Tri Pointe Homes, which have all surpassed the level of customer service, integrity, and overall satisfaction we've recently experienced with KB Homes. The lack of professionalism, integrity and accountability speaks louder than words. ALSO, we’re noticing the home is built poorly. Paper thin walls. Pretty sure they used styrofoam and sheet rock for walls…only put wood behind sheet rock for load bearing walls, which is less than half the house- making it freezing during winter. Quality of workmanship is not the greatest, we where expecting to buy a brand new house so that everything was perfect and new, which is far from what happen, we did a lot of upgrades and everything that was installed looks like it was installed by amateurs that didn’t really know what they where doing, also we recently installed a doggy door in the wall of our house and as we where cutting the stucco out it just crumbled into sand making the hole way bigger and more sloppy than it should have been not sure why the stucco just crumbled like sand we have cut multiple holes for doggy doors in other houses and have never had that outcome. ... Clearly dont buy KB Home
