The builder does not know how to lay down sod .My yard is currently a ankle hazard and can't cut without the lawn mower coming to an abrupt stop in various areas because of uneven areas and holes.

Had some issues with not getting the proper appliances that we ordered the length of time to get that situation fixed was a little frustrating. But overall it was a good experience

Any follow up work that has been needed has yet to be followed up on and I’m well past my 30 days.

KB offers very appealing layouts and upgrades. Without going crazy on upgrades, I selected just the right amount to really create a beautiful home that I love. There have been issues that I’ve run into with the building of the house. Everyone at KB seems very responsive with taking care of what needs to be done, but I do have to constantly check in for everything to get done. I wish that there was a more organized way for KB to take care of their home buyers. I’m a single mother to 2 kids. Raising and taking care of them is my priority. I shouldn’t have to worry about remembering every little issue that I bring up to KB to ensure it’s completion. We love being a brand new home and neighborhood. For the most part, the entire process was very smooth and easy. We were very pleased with the purchasing, designing and paperwork side of the process. The structure and materials of the home are great but we are disappointed with the level of detail on the workmanship. It is clear that the houses are being cranked out and there is no standard set for a clean/neat job or for the workers to pay attention to detail. The caulking, trim, paint, corners and edges are very sloppy and rushed. Its unfortunate because this is what you see on a daily basis. Variety of floor plans.

As a first time homebuyer I thought buying new would keep me from having to fix things. That has not been the case. I have a garage that gets wet when it rains, dinged and scratched “upgraded cabinets” that were “fixed” instead of being replaced, the siding in my entryway looks horrible, a chunk of concrete missing from entry way, scratches on most doors throughout the house, hollow sections of the flooring, nicked bathtub, missed grout spots on bathrooms, nails sticking out the trim, paint on door hinges throughout the house, scratches on sliding door, the garage floor is cracking, etc. So far, the people that have come out to fix some of these issues just patch things up and sometimes end up looking the same. ... Mr. Chavez is phenomenal and once he temporarily took over the Harbor Dunes community, everything started to positively progress in the right direction. However, I’m still missing a bunch of items and no details on when those items will come in other than it’s on back order. Still waiting on several items to be fixed as well. Lastly, the subcontractors that KB Home hired to build, install, paint, etc… were very sub-par. And for the price I paid, I figured the builder would throw in a complimentary refrigerator, but I guess I should be happy I got something (blanket). This is not my 1st home buying experience and so comparing to my previous one, KB Home is a huge let down. Buyer beware. House was great, great building superindent ( very important). Land services were shoddy. Landscaping was terrible. Lot not level, large drop off but on my property.

Sales rep was prompt on lot and model availabilities. Design Center appointment was exciting and handled professionally, but responses after final appointment were not responded to. KB Home Loan team was great to work with and received prompt feedback. Superintendents resolve issues as fast as they can but at the mercy of the contractors. Many contractor quality and workmanship issues found during the build and after closing (aren't these supposed to be caught and fixed prior to closing!?). Unfortunately, from observations and experience so far, if you rate internal KB surveys with avg or low scores you put yourself at risk for slower to no responses to issues during your warranty period. ... When we signed to buy our home, we were told verbally that our slider would be a foot shorter and the downstairs bathroom would no have a window. However, we were not told the gutter on the back of the building would be eliminated. You may say that the salesperson didn’t tell us. Fact is, it should have been in writing all the things the models and already built homes had which would be eliminated. Nothing. We could actually sue for the shorter slider and the window and gutters if we wanted because we were buying what appeared in the model and the already completed homes.

Lack of knowledge by sales personnel regarding valid issues.

The new home was reviewed & things pointed out that needed fixed. Painting not completed, saw marks in siding, floors not clean & needed acid washed after moving in. Screws missing out of hinges. Furnace filter up side down. Over all not cleaned. Light dim & flickering in bathroom. So while I was gone getting more of our belongings the superintendent RJ bribed my wife with giving him 10’s across the board & he would give us a glass front door. When I did not give all 10’s he would not give her the door. He did nothing for us except to fix the things that was needed & their responsibility. The only thing RJ did was painted our porchs. The other guy (Superintendent) that was here during our guy gone had our fans place in & placed garage door openers in do to the mix up with not able to sign while we were there in Florida. Bribery is not the way to do business when you want a bouns from your company because of an Evaluation, that only had fact in it!! ... More

Our direct contact with the builder was through Melissa. She was great in responding to our concerns and issues. The fact that there were (and continue to be) so many issues with this home is disappointing. The craftsmanship and materials (painting, woodwork, even cement) used for this home leaves a lot to be desired. Less than a month inside the home and basic installation issues continue. We are on our 3rd refrigerator, the cement in the garage is a joke. The sod for landscaping is full of weeds. The rear screen door has already been replaced (apparently damaged when they resurfaced part of the patio cement for a 3rd time) and we just found another hole in one of the window screens. The bathtubs had rust stains that had to be removed and the HVAC installation was flawed. Again, let me be clear, Melissa has been great in addressing these issues, but she cannot complete the necessary delivery and service herself. When the 2nd refrigerator was removed, they damaged the front door, which now needs to be repainted. I have purchased 3 new homes in my life and NEVER have I had to have so many call-backs to repair faulty installation. I have never seen such shotty painting (paint drops on the screens and outdoor shrubs). I have only referenced some of the issues we have faced. To make matters worse, I have talked to some of the neighbors who have faced similar issues. I have been called emailed very frequently and asked to provide the survey -we have not moved in so don't know yet since could not handle the frequent calls so completing

When we started out with KB it felt like there was a rush to get things done from the start to the finish. The day before the closing was a rush as documents that should have been submitted to us for final review weeks before was still not completed for review and they were constantly running the numbers even though nothing had changed. Mortgage Department one person she knows herself left me and my husband off the deed. Now I have been left with the headache of getting that sorted out. When we did the Design Studio appointment had one person doubled up on our upgrades twice . Once during the video appointment and the other time on the final document. I pointed it out to her and she told me their was no error. She changed it on the system overnight and submitted it the next day without acknowledging her error. I print all documents before so I can review before i signing. She needs more training. KB needs to put up more and clearer signs so that people do not get lost trying to find this community. I am Constantly on the phone directing Uber, delivery company and fast food companies as the GPS is sending them to the neighboring community . Mail Boxes are located 15 minutes away walking. That does not make any sense. Each community has a cul-de-sac why not put them at the end of each community. There is no recycle or garbage pick up in this community as it still under construction. I have a very long list of things to fix. I have biting ants in my kitchen no food left out they were also on the carpet and outside on the patio. Shower pipe in master bathroom the water pressure is so low i can hardly take a shower. Too many things to speak on. Now we have moved into the area. Angie and Richard has always been very nice throughout this process. I have been here a week and no one has come to welcome us to the area. I have met a few of the neighbors really very nice who mentioned they have received gift baskets and gift cards. I am still waiting on mine not feeling very appreciated after spending all that money with KB. KB All your buyer's should be treated the same. We should all feel welcome. Better communication between me and my loan officer. Ended up paying more in the closing because my closing date wasn’t specified to me PROPERLY. I would also like to state that I’ve been in the house for a month (the house isn’t fully up and running, minor fixes) and only one of the minor issues have been fixed. It’s unacceptable. Glad I can have a home but as a first time homeowner the whole experience is traumatizing.

Not all issues on a repair list completed to date. No clear contact person for support. Community hoa only takes money and fees, minimal to none involvement or keeping oversight over what’s going on. Utility companies are “exempt” from notifying that they do work in front of the houses and act without regard or respect to owners. Poorly arranged and organized for owners to follow. Initially was happy about the house now Becoming more and more unhappy that got involved with this organization after paying premier market value for the property getting mediocre to borderline unfriendly support.

there were several pending issues that were promised to be closed with-in 10 days after closing, but those issues are still pending. Especially dry-wall, has been painted many times rather than fixing it clean.

Get everything done before the settlement

Overall, KB Homes did a good job of helping us to move into our new home. I do wish the material/workmanship was better, but most issues have been fixed. Consequently, we are glad to be in our new home.

This is my experience with the KB home buying process and current warranty cycle. I'm sure others have had different experiences. As mentioned in my survey to KB homes, KB falls in line with most other home builders when it comes to displaying their product, the extras and what your home could look like once completed. They are knowledgably, accountable, and ready to go to the ends of the earth to get one the home of their dreams. This was my experience. However, that experience changed as soon as I closed on the home, the adjective - "accountable" flew out the door. Teams changed and no longer was communication or accountability even a concern. All homes have minor challenges and mine is no different. Understanding that the KB team has to deal with supply chain issues, resourcing challenges and changing priorities I have always tried to be fair with timelines asking for things to be remedied in weeks not days. Trust me I understand I’m not the only homeowner going through these first month pains. With everyone negotiation (or pleading) with the KB team to get things fixed they have promised and never delivered. I feel very dumb even asking for (and agreeing on timelines) because its now a custom that they won’t get completed per our agreed date. It’s been frustrating to say the least. I have been lucky that my issues are not big ones, but the list keeps growing. About a 12 month process, supposed to be 10. Lots of items not complete upon close, some still not corrected. Supposed to have a 30 day follow up, but have not heard from anyone

Our experience with KB Homes has been bad. As new homeowner you come in with an expectation to later be disappointed. If you are looking for quality, this should not be your first option.

Told 9 months to build it took 12 months. I spent more than expected going to the showroom top dollars on top of purchase of home not including land expense just be aware of separate charges
