The house was not ready at the time of delivery, it was even closed two months ago and the house still needs things to fix, the bathroom window, drywall, cabinets with damage, which are supposed to be new and they went and patched it up. I think that when you buy something new it is new and not patched up since I paid for a completely new house It's been two months since I moved and it hasn't been 100% complete I only had 1 walk and 1 day before closing I think it is disrespectful to the buyer that we pay for good quality and service which has not been provided to me.

This is me and my wife first home.The experience wasn't pleasant at all. We understood the pandemic situation and also we understood there may be hiccups the things we couldn't understand how we came into a walk thru that was full of trash our home was not completed when I mean complete is a lot of things that was just throwed together and then communication wasn't that pleasant at first but it seems if you give a bad review or they want you to do a survey they call you more consistently. I am very disappointed in kb home builders because we closed on March 31, 2022. There are still issues that I brought to the superintendent for Carter Landing subdivision in Jacksonville, Florida (Chris) and csr (Cody) whose been downplaying our concerns, but continue building other homes around us as if everything is nonchalant and fine. I have sent pictures through text, provided them with list of concerns, provided them the information to fix our issues and they have sent out several individuals who have showed up, but not have fixed our problems.

building took over one year with small issues still not addressed after two months post closing.

I don’t even know where to start here. 5 closing dates which were all pushed back, heavy pressure to close when house wasn’t ready, terrible follow up about things needed to done from superintendent and customer service, overall poor craftsmanship and not to mention my $2000 “full overlay cabinets” were different than in the design studio and they refuse to do anything about it. I will never build with kb again or recommend kb to anyone. No accountability in this company from the TOP down. I’ve been in my house 2.5 months and still have a laundry list of things that haven’t been done. Everyone loves to talk nice but no one gets anything done. Buyer beware. Supposed to have a 1 year warranty on issues but there is no point of contact, the buying experience was horrible and they locked me into not using a realtor. The floors are warped in several homes in this community, the irrigation and land sloping is not bad. Constant issues, I wish KB just followed through with their promises.

We have made several complaints, we were told certain things before buying and now those things are not true. We have had not one thing done with quality in the home, have had issues with door hinges coming off, windows with scratches on them, broken doors, chipped tile, broken and chipped cabinets, flaws in our counter tops, issues with plumbing, poor craftsmanship of walls, power sockets, trim, tile in bathrooms, sprinklers on wrong property, holes in our driveway, dents in cabinets and front door and roof, uneven work done, the stone on the front of house looks sloppy. And now to be having to deal with all of this and taking time off work to have contractors come back to fix things that should have been done right the first time is unacceptable. We are regretting buying this home due to its poor quality and lack of response from management. I would not recommend to my friends to buy KB Home and totally frustrating with those false statements. they will not be considered once we have closed down homes.

This was my first experience buying a home and it was ruined. I never got the wow excitement experience because everywhere I looked there was something wrong. Careless things like holes in brand new wall and paint on things that should not have paint on them. The worse issue of all was the worker ate in the unfinished home and left behind a mess a 1 year old child would leave. Additionally, they tried to force me to close on an unfinished home. Twice I went to closing and the bright orange stain from food was still there. In my opinion they stall and take to long fixing things from careless mistakes. I have a hole in one of my bedrooms from a careless plumbing incident. It’s been two weeks and they still haven’t completed the job. When people buy a brand new home they want to move in and relax without interruption. Justan made promises to get what he wanted ( a good review) and then never did anything, never heard from him since.

First, I was placed on the waiting list to purchase a home in January of 2022. My name finally came up to purchase a home around March 20th 22. I placed the down payment and the salesperson said my pre-qualification letter and and closing disclosure to me. My realtor and myself, went off on those numbers and planned for the home for several months. A month later, my salesperson from KB sent me a message that he had to apologize for sending me the wrong figures and home information for over a month. Wow. He informed me that my closing figures would be twice as much now with the new figures. I am not sure how you get the information wrong for over a month. However, I digress. I then had to drop out of that process because of KB homes And request a refund. I then gave KB Homes another chance in July to purchase a home. The home that was advertised on KB's website and for the Realtors website and the nmls list was a perfect fit. The home was advertised as all improvements and structural details included. I signed the contract and pay the down payment. Almost 2 months later the same salesman came to me and advised that they could not honor the contract. They informed me that there were several mistakes with the advertising and they could not honor the previous agreement that I signed and paid for. Because I am just a nine to five worker, and not a multi-million dollar Corporation they could do such a thing. The average working Joe has no leverage on these companies. We then had to restructure the entire contract. I lost out on a great deal that KB advertised. Lastly I was recently informed emphatically and specifically not to change the utilities in my name until they specifically informed me to because of issues that were still going on with the home. My kids and I came home after work school and our Sports practice around 6:00 p.m. Friday and all Power and Water was turned off to the home without myself ever receiving any type of heads up or calls. I informed the head of construction that this is not what I was told and now my family has to suffer because I trusted the information that I was given. The construction phase was better than the sales phase. I assume I will have to pay for everything I lost for those 4 days without power. That's really has been my experience with KB homes. We bought our first home with KB Home. There are pending items to complete but they requested us to close the property and mentioned that they would complete the pending items with in 2-3 weeks of home closure. We almost completed 2+ months and still they did not address the pending items and every day follow-up got a big headache. My recommendation to everyone not to go and close the home without trusting them. Just close the property once everything is addresses.

KB allowed a convicted felon (many charges and jail time) to be in a supervisory position in the neighborhood, access to all the homes to be the one doing walk-thrus. He lies, represents himself as being able to do additional things for you (fencing, flooring, etc), takes your money and does not do the work. Dangerous

I will never build with KB homes again The supervisor was fantastic. but that’s the only highlight of the whole experience….

I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a home from KB Homes, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare. From the moment we signed the contract, it became apparent that quality work and effective communication were not priorities for this company. First and foremost, the construction quality of the house was abysmal. It seemed as though corners were cut at every turn, resulting in a litany of issues. The paint job was uneven and sloppy, with visible streaks and blotches on the walls. The flooring was installed poorly, with several tiles already cracked at closing. Drywall imperfection ran rampant throughout the home, The irrigation was a disaster and non operational for TWO months. I also did not have DOOR KNOBS for close to a month after closing. The list goes on and on. It is disheartening to see such subpar craftsmanship, especially considering the substantial amount of money we invested in this home. Adding to the frustration, the lack of communication from KB Homes has been utterly disappointing. When we initially raised concerns about the quality of work, it took weeks for trades to complete work after notifying our super intendent. Even then, the responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling ignored and abandoned. It became apparent that once they had our money, they were no longer interested in providing any form of customer support. The lack of transparency and accountability from KB Homes is deeply concerning. It is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction, neglecting their responsibility to deliver quality homes and support their buyers. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a home purchase to think twice before choosing KB Homes. In conclusion, my experience with KB Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poor quality workmanship and the company's complete lack of communication and accountability have made this a regrettable decision. Save yourself the frustration and headache and look elsewhere for a reputable home builder that values its customers and takes pride in its work. Tyler was the only person from KB Homes who seemed genuinely concerned about our issues and took proactive steps to address them. He responded to our calls and kept me notified via a detailed texting format, and he made it a point to visit our home personally to assess the problems we were facing. Through the entire process there was little to no communication unless it was Us reaching out to the Builders of this company. Only time any communication was reciprocated to us is when they needed something, KB really made the experience worse instead of insuring the customer had a wonderful stress free time. We were Hounded and pushed to close when the house was not even complete! Once we conducted our walk through the quality of work was incredibly poor. Foundation was NOT level therefore the flooring was wavy and hollow in certain areas, paint on almost every outlet, un even wall heights and the pillars out front were noticeably crooked. The contractors left debris in our drains causing an overflow in the bathroom that flooded the pantry and the kitchen. Were holes in the walls, door knobs in half the rooms were lose and would fall off. With all of that the communication was still very poor, we reached out and every time we’d make a call no one would answer. We would have to call literally 10 times just to get a text back to call another number. The concrete in the garage was poorly finished with a bunch of Honeycomb and cracked edges. Don't close till all issues are resolved

I am an Army Veteran and have been saving up for years to make a down payment on this house so I could move back to my hometown. Me and my girlfriend were very excited for our first home together. It didn’t take long for our excitement to turn into disgust. On the day of closing, many things throughout the house were unfinished or VERY poorly put together. The house was filthy and there was still construction waste/debris in the yard and garage. The sod that they put in was already half dead because it had been sitting on pallets for over a week, and after it was laid (around April 23rd) it remained unwatered for two weeks due to irrigation not functioning. It is now 7/9/21 and the sod still has yet to recover. It is embarrassing because their poor craftsmanship makes me look like I can’t care for a yard. The garage door did not function due to improper install, the front door and garage access door seals fit incorrectly, letting pests in. I have already had to deal with black widows. Before closing (April 27th) there were multiple light fixtures with no lightbulbs. I have been asking for the proper Edison light bulbs since closing and still don’t have them. The upgraded kitchen cabinets have a horrible finish, and I have been waiting since closing to receive new cabinet doors. The upgraded granite countertops had scratches and were covered in dried sealant. The luxury vinyl plank is damaged in multiple places and completely buckled in a 4’x4’ area, and buckled in many other spots. The “flooring company” Classic Floors” has been out 3 times now to attempt to repair the floors. All three times, they did not bring enough material, and damaged more planks AND my property in the process. I am still waiting for a finished floor (7/9/21) Many of the interior doors are damaged, and I am still waiting for replacements. There are lumps under the carpet throughout the carpeted rooms, and they left the tack strip to where you can step on it through the carpet. The driveway edges are already cracking and crumbling for no reason. The lot is improperly graded, causing standing water to pool up at the base of the foundation. I can’t even mow my side yard because it has had standing water for over a month. These are only a few examples. Customer service and construction are very slow to respond to issues. I closed on 4/27 and it is now 7/9 and not even half of the issues have been resolved. The overall lack of craftsmanship, communication, care, and false promises makes me 100% regret buying from KB. You would think that maybe a veteran finally returning home would get better treatment than this. As it stands now, I openly recommend everybody I talk to, as well as you reading this, to STAY AWAY FROM KB HOME!!!!! And if you don’t, be sure to have plenty of time to waste, because you will constantly have contractors coming out to your house to make “repairs”. If KB is reading this, I’m sure you know who I am. Worse experience ever, never again with kB home

Quality control was non-existent. Very frustrating when promises are made to fix issues and appointments are repeatedly blown off and go unresolved. KB has no regard for integrity or quality. Refuse to display my name to avoid repercussions. Try any other builder

Construction workmanship quality is lacking, lots of corners cut, follow up and fixes from construction supervisor is almost nonexistent. The promises for all hands on deck to fix a multitude of issues was not delivered.

This process of building with KB was a bit of a cluster… there seemed to be lack of communication between Sales, Design and Construction throughout the entire process. I signed my contract in March 2022, and the build didn’t start until July. Michelle M. was my sales counselor, and she was great.. and did her best to keep things moving forward…. The first problems started with the design studio… Lydia was my design consultant, and there seemed to have been a disconnect with what was a design item versus a structural item … She really didn’t have any idea what was going on.. no to mention when you went to the design studio there was many things on the walls for options, but nothing was available making the process very frustrating. I was told I wasn’t able to get a drawer bank in the guest bath.. (but come to find out later I was able to .. and of course there was a charge.) Throughout the build process I found many issues that I brought to Grant M.’s attention and for the most part it was addressed. Grant M. seemed to have been overloaded with the number of houses he was overseeing, and it showed. There was no consistency within the same model houses across multiple builds, and the order of operations seemed to be off. Justin H one of the project managers came in to help with my project, and he is a bit useless.. and pushes back on everything I bring up… and his response is “We are a production Builder and Nothing is Perfect” .. While I agree with that to an extent… if I am paying for upgrades in the house I expect them to be in good condition . I was promised to close on a specific date, and wasn’t even contacted letting me know we were not going to meet that date of March 10, 2023. Then I was promised we would close on March 17, 2023 and that didn’t happen. I finally closed on 3/31/23. There are many outstanding issues… which either KB Home is ignoring or dragging their feet on… my outstanding items include: * Dented roof vent (This was pointed out prior to being installed, but it was still installed. As of right now this still has not been fixed. Justin H tries to change the subject when bringing this up. * Cement pad for AC Condenser was poured and placed in the wrong location… Grant M told me this would be fixed, but it was not, and now I am still waiting for it to be fixed after Justin H said a new pad would be ordered. * The tile in my mater bathroom was crooked, and I was told that it was within tolerance … REALLY?? I got a credit back for the tile, and had to hire someone to re-tile the shower the week after I moved in. * Scratches on my LVP floor.. throughout the house. Justin H will come in the house rub his finger on the scratched area and say “See they went away” but then the scratches come back. This was a $12K upgrade and I shouldn’t have scratches on my floor. * The door on the linen closet in the guest bath doesn’t open all the way and hits the toilet. This still hasn’t been fixed. Justin H needs to coordinate with the plumber and flooring company to get this fixed and he has not.. * Dented window on the front of the house … * Gouges in the trim work throughout the house.. Justin H said this is normal … THIS IS NOT NORMAL….. * Weather stripping missing on my sliding glass door… Bugs are getting in through the crack int he window and I am still waiting for this to be fixed. * Also the trim along their floor of the door is scratched and dinged from when they were grinding the floors how to level them out.. * My shutters on the front window my house were dented… they have been replaced, but still haven’t been painted. * I was promised full home gutters and a fence …. the gutters have finally been installed, but still waiting on the fence and we are 60 days past closing. * Staining on front door… * The grading of the property is also off… the sides of the yard are not draining properly and it is basically a swamp. * The outside of the house is till dirty.. masking tape from paints and handwritten notes are on the windows still.. It is very evident that KB Home hires subcontractors that give the lowest bid. The trades do not seem to take pride in their work, and it shows with the lack of quality. Major problems throughout the house … and still no support after I closed on my home. KB Home says they are built on relationships, but once you sign on the dotted line everyone disappears. Jim M who is the EVP of the region even came out to the house prior to closing and spoke with me.. it seems like he was telling me what I wanted to hear… and told me to reach out to him if I had any problems… I have reached out, and have received no response back. Throughout the process he never addressed my concerns . Always said yes that will be fixed and never followed through. After I closed I came to my home with NO A/C AND THERMOSTAT! . He disappeared and I had no key to my home , there were no knobs on all the doors and he glued a damaged door on my kitchen island and damaged the island!, no weather stripping in the entrance door, SMOKE ALARM WAS TURNED OFF AT THE BREAKER BOX TO PREVENT THE CHERPING IN THE FOYER, missing doors in room # 1 & 2 , No dry wall on the vent box and the vent not working properly, no coach lights, Garage door malfunctioning, Air vent on ceiling not installed properly in bedroom # 2 and switch not working properly, walkway not pressure washed. The mulch in front of house left with construction debris, doorbell not screwed on properly, No garage light on motor , incorrect exterior door style for garage door entry to laundry room, No shutters on front window, Pantry door damaged, crack on frame above fridge cabinet, and drywall repairs throughout the house.
