Buying a new home was always our dream but dealing with kb homes has been a nightmare. We want our home to look like the model home that we toured and fell in love with instead unfinished issues inside the home and trying to get kb home to complete the issues is ridiculous I regret ever getting a home built through kb home

Construction workmanship quality is lacking, lots of corners cut, follow up and fixes from construction supervisor is almost nonexistent. The promises for all hands on deck to fix a multitude of issues was not delivered.

Our experience has been a rough one. Its been two months and our house still has a lot of work to be finished. People have been slow to repair anything at all and there are many issues that even though they were addressed nothing has happened. Overall my house still needs a lot of work.

Don't close till all issues are resolved

I am an Army Veteran and have been saving up for years to make a down payment on this house so I could move back to my hometown. Me and my girlfriend were very excited for our first home together. It didn’t take long for our excitement to turn into disgust. On the day of closing, many things throughout the house were unfinished or VERY poorly put together. The house was filthy and there was still construction waste/debris in the yard and garage. The sod that they put in was already half dead because it had been sitting on pallets for over a week, and after it was laid (around April 23rd) it remained unwatered for two weeks due to irrigation not functioning. It is now 7/9/21 and the sod still has yet to recover. It is embarrassing because their poor craftsmanship makes me look like I can’t care for a yard. The garage door did not function due to improper install, the front door and garage access door seals fit incorrectly, letting pests in. I have already had to deal with black widows. Before closing (April 27th) there were multiple light fixtures with no lightbulbs. I have been asking for the proper Edison light bulbs since closing and still don’t have them. The upgraded kitchen cabinets have a horrible finish, and I have been waiting since closing to receive new cabinet doors. The upgraded granite countertops had scratches and were covered in dried sealant. The luxury vinyl plank is damaged in multiple places and completely buckled in a 4’x4’ area, and buckled in many other spots. The “flooring company” Classic Floors” has been out 3 times now to attempt to repair the floors. All three times, they did not bring enough material, and damaged more planks AND my property in the process. I am still waiting for a finished floor (7/9/21) Many of the interior doors are damaged, and I am still waiting for replacements. There are lumps under the carpet throughout the carpeted rooms, and they left the tack strip to where you can step on it through the carpet. The driveway edges are already cracking and crumbling for no reason. The lot is improperly graded, causing standing water to pool up at the base of the foundation. I can’t even mow my side yard because it has had standing water for over a month. These are only a few examples. Customer service and construction are very slow to respond to issues. I closed on 4/27 and it is now 7/9 and not even half of the issues have been resolved. The overall lack of craftsmanship, communication, care, and false promises makes me 100% regret buying from KB. You would think that maybe a veteran finally returning home would get better treatment than this. As it stands now, I openly recommend everybody I talk to, as well as you reading this, to STAY AWAY FROM KB HOME!!!!! And if you don’t, be sure to have plenty of time to waste, because you will constantly have contractors coming out to your house to make “repairs”. If KB is reading this, I’m sure you know who I am. Completely horrible experience. No one reached out to you when you complain. No matter how respectful and understanding you have been.

At the pooring of the cement I realized they were building the wrong house. When I told the sales person. He took me to the Model the Kingsley to show me it was the right model only FLIPPED!!! WHAT PART OF I WANT MY HOUSE TO LOOK JUST LIKE THIS!!! His reply was "No two houses look the same and does it really Matter? YES IT DOES. 2) The kitchen was smaller. I asked for the gourment Kitchen the sales person didn't know KBHome offered it. If he had he should of told me the kitchen would be smoller. Then he asked me if I wanted a 10 or 12 foot ceiling I said 10 thniking the celing was going to look the same as the model. I said I wanted my house to look exactly like the model. THIS WAS MY DREAM HOME THE HOME I WAS GOING TO SPEND THE BETTER TIME OF MY LIFE IN AND KBHOME TOOK NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ALL THE WRONG THINGS. THEY BLAMED ME FOR INITALING THE SHOWROOM PRINTOUT WITH THE FLOOR PLAN ON IT. HAD I KNOWN THE FLOOR PLAN WAS DIFFERENT I WOULD HAVE QUESTION IT. I WAS THERE TO PICK OUT UP GRADES NOT TO SEE IF THEY CHANGED THE FLOOR PLAN. KBHOME TOOK NO RESPONSILBILITY. THEY MADE ME BUY THE HOME SAYING I WOULD MAKE MORE MONEY SELLING IT. THAT WASN'T THE POINT. I DIDN'T HAVE MY HOME BUILD TO TURN AROUND A SELL IT. NOW I AM HOMELESS AND LIVING WITH MY DAUGHTER UNTIL I FIND A NEW HOME IN TN. I AM DISABLE ON SSD AND A SMAILL RETIREMENT. THE CDD CHARGES ARE OUTRAGOUS. I WAS TOLD NOT TO WORRY IT COMES OUT OF MY TAXES. IT WOULD HAVE BOUGHT MY TAXES OVER 5,000.00 A YEAR NOT INCLUDING HOA FEE'S. THEY SAY THEY WANT THE CUSTOMERS HAPPY. Worse experience ever, never again with kB home

Quality control was non-existent. Very frustrating when promises are made to fix issues and appointments are repeatedly blown off and go unresolved. KB has no regard for integrity or quality. Refuse to display my name to avoid repercussions. Try any other builder

I don’t like nothing how build the house to much mess and damage tael it’s really bead very big line between ceramic in shovers all silicon its ready pool off ground it’s broke water can likes behind ceramic my door from garage to inside at house I cannot close its all the time open In kitchen it’s very chip material I make big miss take to by this house sun I found another place i can put the pool I will sale this house and move from here i have house bin in 16 y magnolia build it’s very good shape and materials.
