Overall experience has been great. Especially with getting punch list items done. They are done efficiently and effectively.

It took 15 months to build our home start to finish and it wasn’t even fully completed when we were pressured to close at the end of April 2023 so corporate could meet their goals, and we are now facing ongoing repairs and issues with the craftsmanship inside the home. KB REALLY REALLY REALLY needs to pay better workers to come in and build the homes. You guys would save so much money in the long run. Stop thinking so short-term with your costs and just think what a glowing review we’d have left you if your craftsmanship would’ve been better. Also, if the home would’ve actually been completed in a timely fashion instead of thrown together at the last minute so you could make your closing goal for the month. We love our homesite and community, and the repairs will be completed in time, but we just wish KB would care more about the homes they are building. Get rid of your cheap labor and pay your people better so you get better quality workers in your homes. Foreign workers or not, don’t scrape the bottom of the barrel to save a buck, you’re now going to pay for it on the back end anyway. Not smart business, and not at all good for customer service. Your Superintendent Grant and Project Manager Justin have been awesome and responsive to our concerns, but they can’t fix shoddy craftsmanship because they can’t watch every homesite daily to catch the bad work. The entire experience is one of the worst I have ever had and this is the third home that I’ve built. The completion time was twice as long as I was promised, and the quality of the work is mediocre at best. It’s almost impossible to get things resolved off your punchlist. I have been in the house for two months and things that were supposed to be resolved after my 10 day walk-through are still not resolved. It’s only recently that I started dealing with Mike one of the people in charge of this development that I have been able to get things addressed, he is great but the entire experience has been horrific. ... Good home buying experience overall

Everything good and professional people working there. Recomended 100%

16 months to close. They tried to close earlier multiple times but work was not complete. When we finally closed there was still a list of things needing completion.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience building with KB home. We've heard horrid stories about other builders, so we were nervous building new construction. However, the KB crew from sales to construction to financing as been awesome. They really made it a priority to make sure we were happy with our home. Can't expect more than that!

We closed on the home April 20 and I let the builder know that they had 3 weeks to fix the already existing issues until my family moved in on May 12. When we showed up to the house 3 weeks later the house was unfinished. The same issues were still not completed. The house wasn't even cleaned and ready for us to live in it. There are items that we paid for that aren't installed on the house and vice a versa.

KB Homes is our very first build experience and we really are glad about it. There wasnt a lot of stress or problems and they really do make sure you love your home and you are satisfied and they make sure they fix any mistakes or mishaps. Overall we are very happy we chose to build wirh KB Homes.

This process of building with KB was a bit of a cluster… there seemed to be lack of communication between Sales, Design and Construction throughout the entire process. I signed my contract in March 2022, and the build didn’t start until July. Michelle M. was my sales counselor, and she was great.. and did her best to keep things moving forward…. The first problems started with the design studio… Lydia was my design consultant, and there seemed to have been a disconnect with what was a design item versus a structural item … She really didn’t have any idea what was going on.. no to mention when you went to the design studio there was many things on the walls for options, but nothing was available making the process very frustrating. I was told I wasn’t able to get a drawer bank in the guest bath.. (but come to find out later I was able to .. and of course there was a charge.) Throughout the build process I found many issues that I brought to Grant M.’s attention and for the most part it was addressed. Grant M. seemed to have been overloaded with the number of houses he was overseeing, and it showed. There was no consistency within the same model houses across multiple builds, and the order of operations seemed to be off. Justin H one of the project managers came in to help with my project, and he is a bit useless.. and pushes back on everything I bring up… and his response is “We are a production Builder and Nothing is Perfect” .. While I agree with that to an extent… if I am paying for upgrades in the house I expect them to be in good condition . I was promised to close on a specific date, and wasn’t even contacted letting me know we were not going to meet that date of March 10, 2023. Then I was promised we would close on March 17, 2023 and that didn’t happen. I finally closed on 3/31/23. There are many outstanding issues… which either KB Home is ignoring or dragging their feet on… my outstanding items include: * Dented roof vent (This was pointed out prior to being installed, but it was still installed. As of right now this still has not been fixed. Justin H tries to change the subject when bringing this up. * Cement pad for AC Condenser was poured and placed in the wrong location… Grant M told me this would be fixed, but it was not, and now I am still waiting for it to be fixed after Justin H said a new pad would be ordered. * The tile in my mater bathroom was crooked, and I was told that it was within tolerance … REALLY?? I got a credit back for the tile, and had to hire someone to re-tile the shower the week after I moved in. * Scratches on my LVP floor.. throughout the house. Justin H will come in the house rub his finger on the scratched area and say “See they went away” but then the scratches come back. This was a $12K upgrade and I shouldn’t have scratches on my floor. * The door on the linen closet in the guest bath doesn’t open all the way and hits the toilet. This still hasn’t been fixed. Justin H needs to coordinate with the plumber and flooring company to get this fixed and he has not.. * Dented window on the front of the house … * Gouges in the trim work throughout the house.. Justin H said this is normal … THIS IS NOT NORMAL….. * Weather stripping missing on my sliding glass door… Bugs are getting in through the crack int he window and I am still waiting for this to be fixed. * Also the trim along their floor of the door is scratched and dinged from when they were grinding the floors how to level them out.. * My shutters on the front window my house were dented… they have been replaced, but still haven’t been painted. * I was promised full home gutters and a fence …. the gutters have finally been installed, but still waiting on the fence and we are 60 days past closing. * Staining on front door… * The grading of the property is also off… the sides of the yard are not draining properly and it is basically a swamp. * The outside of the house is till dirty.. masking tape from paints and handwritten notes are on the windows still.. It is very evident that KB Home hires subcontractors that give the lowest bid. The trades do not seem to take pride in their work, and it shows with the lack of quality. Major problems throughout the house … and still no support after I closed on my home. KB Home says they are built on relationships, but once you sign on the dotted line everyone disappears. Jim M who is the EVP of the region even came out to the house prior to closing and spoke with me.. it seems like he was telling me what I wanted to hear… and told me to reach out to him if I had any problems… I have reached out, and have received no response back. I regret moving forward with this purchase, and am in the the process of looking for a new home. ... More

I recently had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a home from KB Homes, and I must say it has been an absolute nightmare. From the moment we signed the contract, it became apparent that quality work and effective communication were not priorities for this company. First and foremost, the construction quality of the house was abysmal. It seemed as though corners were cut at every turn, resulting in a litany of issues. The paint job was uneven and sloppy, with visible streaks and blotches on the walls. The flooring was installed poorly, with several tiles already cracked at closing. Drywall imperfection ran rampant throughout the home, The irrigation was a disaster and non operational for TWO months. I also did not have DOOR KNOBS for close to a month after closing. The list goes on and on. It is disheartening to see such subpar craftsmanship, especially considering the substantial amount of money we invested in this home. Adding to the frustration, the lack of communication from KB Homes has been utterly disappointing. When we initially raised concerns about the quality of work, it took weeks for trades to complete work after notifying our super intendent. Even then, the responses were vague and unhelpful, leaving us feeling ignored and abandoned. It became apparent that once they had our money, they were no longer interested in providing any form of customer support. The lack of transparency and accountability from KB Homes is deeply concerning. It is clear that they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction, neglecting their responsibility to deliver quality homes and support their buyers. This experience has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I would strongly advise anyone considering a home purchase to think twice before choosing KB Homes. In conclusion, my experience with KB Homes has been nothing short of a nightmare. The poor quality workmanship and the company's complete lack of communication and accountability have made this a regrettable decision. Save yourself the frustration and headache and look elsewhere for a reputable home builder that values its customers and takes pride in its work. KB Homes is simply not worth the time, money, or stress. This is everything I wanted to say… However, amidst this sea of disappointment, there was one shining star in the form of Tyler. Tyler was the only person from KB Homes who seemed genuinely concerned about our issues and took proactive steps to address them. He responded to our calls and kept me notified via a detailed texting format, and he made it a point to visit our home personally to assess the problems we were facing. Throughout the process he never addressed my concerns . Always said yes that will be fixed and never followed through. After I closed I came to my home with NO A/C AND THERMOSTAT! . He disappeared and I had no key to my home , there were no knobs on all the doors and he glued a damaged door on my kitchen island and damaged the island!, no weather stripping in the entrance door, SMOKE ALARM WAS TURNED OFF AT THE BREAKER BOX TO PREVENT THE CHERPING IN THE FOYER, missing doors in room # 1 & 2 , No dry wall on the vent box and the vent not working properly, no coach lights, Garage door malfunctioning, Air vent on ceiling not installed properly in bedroom # 2 and switch not working properly, walkway not pressure washed. The mulch in front of house left with construction debris, doorbell not screwed on properly, No garage light on motor , incorrect exterior door style for garage door entry to laundry room, No shutters on front window, Pantry door damaged, crack on frame above fridge cabinet, and drywall repairs throughout the house. Overall experience was painless because we paid cash and didn’t go through the process of mortgage application. Although there are issues with new home construction, major or minor, we expect it will be resolved in due time. Some issues were resolved quickly which we appreciate. KB personnel we dealt with, were quick to update, and responded with ease . I commend KB with their professionalism and knowledgeable experience. Thank you, KB Homes!

The KB Homes Team has been perfect. From the start of the process it was silky smooth. They answered all of my questions from the beginning, with quality answers. It has been great working with them and can not wait to see what the future looks like in my New KB Home! Thank You Chris and Rob for being awesome!

Michelle in sales was always helpful and went above and beyond to help. Our project manager Mike was overseeing that everything in the house was to my satisfaction. I love my new house.

Not all issues on a repair list completed to date. No clear contact person for support. Community hoa only takes money and fees, minimal to none involvement or keeping oversight over what’s going on. Utility companies are “exempt” from notifying that they do work in front of the houses and act without regard or respect to owners. Poorly arranged and organized for owners to follow. Initially was happy about the house now Becoming more and more unhappy that got involved with this organization after paying premier market value for the property getting mediocre to borderline unfriendly support.

there were several pending issues that were promised to be closed with-in 10 days after closing, but those issues are still pending. Especially dry-wall, has been painted many times rather than fixing it clean.

For anyone looking to purchase a KBHome, buyer beware that you are about to embark on a rushed, confusing, and pressured experience. Before the purchase of our home and for an extremely short period thereafter, the responsiveness and ability to make promises made to assist, carry out requests, and fix issues were satisfactory. However, the follow-through on promises and communication regarding the status of issues have been extremely frustrating. It is clear that is important through the rushed purchase process that the company places utmost priority in getting a customer through to the finish line of purchasing but afterward, responsiveness, service, and customer-first attitude falls off a cliff. I had to escalate an email to upper management to receive any attention.. and it still not completed to date. The package is pretty at the surface, but the deeper you dig, the harder it is to stay in love with the deal you made. Also, please be weary of the $10,000 upfront that you need to put in that they don‘t tell you about to secure your purchase!! If you choose to back out, you lose $10,000. Ouch. ... More

The craftsmanship of the home we bought was not very good. We hope to have all the issues fixed during the home warranty period.

My husband and I bought our first home with KB Home and it turned out better than we expected. Alexandria from the Home studio was very patient with us and allowed us to take our time and picking out the designs. Jayson did most of our financial information and explained/even extended himself to explain things. My one critique with the financing department is for them to allow buyers more time i.e a week at least to lock in rates or any other important decisions when purchasing a home, I did not appreciate being rushed into a decision. Lastly our super Joe, overall Joe did a very good job with his knowledge on the materials/making of the home. I can’t fully put this on Joe but we did feel rushed to closing even though it was quite a few important things not completely done with our home. We still have exterior items needing to be fixed and have not heard of an ETA on those fixings. Another thing I would like to add which really disappointed us, is the day we closed on our home the keys given to us by Joe to our house did not work. We planned on moving into the home the very next day and not being able to get into the home the night prior or not receiving any response after hours was disappointing. KB Homes kept in contact with us throughout the entire build. Considering we lived 3 hours away, we were able to get weekly updates as our home was being built. From sales to design studio to closing on our new home has been a great experience.

Great experience with the Staff at the Sales Center. our home was delivered with some incomplete issues. the response was quick in addressing the issue but action to correct the issue was unsatisfactory. to date we still have issues that are not completed not sure when this will be addressed.
