I don't know if the workmanship went down because of the Covid19 and we ended up with 3 different contractors working on our house. We did not get many chance to walk the house until then end. We had brought up some issues and was told it was part of the build. I had also pointed out some stuff to be fixed in our final walk and because the walk was the afternoon before the signing I could not verify that they were not fixed. We had to rush the closing because of the pandemic because there were so many uncertainties and felt like we were threatened to cancel the sale if we did not do certain things. I am in love with the layout of home, however quality isn’t the greatest. I have advised the builder of ongoing issues within the home, I have yet to receive a permanent fix.

Don't use KBhome. The workmanship is very messy. They build fast and that leaves a lot of room for mistakes and carelessness

If you ever have to deal with the builder for preserve pointe the god bless you but sales team is great and know how to communicate as well as the lender for kb we had.

The sales and design team were great, we designed a home we were looking forward to. We got word of our closing date and would have the new home orientation the day before and the home was not finished with many issues. We were asked to come back the next day before our closing and we were promised the house would be finished with a final clean completed. The next day we arrived to much the same home. The house was missing pantry shelves, the countertop had screw holes in it and wasn’t secure to the cabinets, the flooring transitions were not secured, outlets we asked to be moved more than a month prior we’re still not moved, garage door opener was not installed, the house had not been fully cleaned and a full host of other issues. We were promised that while we were at the closing the shelves would be installed, same with the garage door opener, the electrician would move the outlet and the countertop would be fixed as well as a final clean. We were lied too, none of these things happened. To get these issues fixed we had to go through the warranty service. Yes, to get items that should have been installed we had to go to the warranty service. It took over a month after closing to get our shelves in the pantry. It is now almost 2 months after we closed and the list of issues is long and have yet to be addressed by KB Homes. I would not purchase a KB Home again. ... More

My experience was not great at all. Everything was rushed to close hearing from other workers around working on the home. I was told that KB rushes homes to get #’s skipping big quality checks. employees get treated like numbers no value to the home buyers just searching for good surveys to getting popularity numbers and land to keep building. I’ll be selling my home due to so many things to fix and chasing warranty and kb superiors to resolve once I finished my survey I was let go and no one reached out. My experience was not good but yours could be different.

Overall building experience was horrible the builder was rude and argumentative. Because of waiting on cabinets my house sat in worked on for months. We were given weekly progress report but everything we were told was done or getting done would not be completed. When we went to written contact since verbally we were not getting any results. We were told by George the builder we had no right to go to our home unless invited at that point all progress reports stopped. We had 3 closing dates none were met. Causing us to push the sale of our home back. When we came for our final review before closing we had broken window, the house was filthy, broken cabinet drawers, no final paint done, on missing shower heads, missing mirrors, missing door knobs, holes in living room ceiling a huge hole in the bathroom wall, no shelving in the linen closet, back porch ceiling damage, back porch floor damage. H16 screwdriver hole across kitchen ceiling. At this point we were told our ovens were no longer in stock and were replaced with different ovens that we did not even approve of, and the wrong dishwasher. All the electrical was not wired correctly. This was 2 days before closing! The day of closing we had another walk through nothing had be touch. We had our movers bringing our furniture in while painters and electricians were trying to fix what they could. The entire process of the homebuying experience has been poor and lackluster there was no wow factor I was not excited about purchasing the home and after purchasing the home. The new homebuying experience has been stressful and unpleasant the entire processWith the builder and other issues that took place during the build and the after home purchase I’ve been awful. The buying experience did not feel like a new home purchase felt like a used house purchase they were so many problems with the home that had to be addressed and still need to be addressed. Many issues like damaged tile missing grout holes in the wall damage bathtub damage master shower Damage cabinets Dead grass damage garage door cracks and walls missing paint damage stucco. And other minor issues have made the whole buying experience unpleasant. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a home after the experience that we have had. From the beginning I experienced irresponsibility, racism and disrespect to the costumer. My home has a broken tile,the banister is almost broken too, a skin with horrible quality and stained, the kitchen sink look like rusted. we were also asked to lie in order to give a good review to the company, the Superintendent offered us gifts if I gave her a good review. After that we started having more issues she ignored my messages, her name was Isabeau. So no, I won’t recommend this company AT ALL.

House was not completed properly on due date. Many issues existed that were located after we moved in. Items ordered and installed were not the same as we had selected in the showroom. Everything that needed to get corrected is an order that gets placed and then your at the mercy of the contractor to show up weeks later. There is no quality control. No one is monitoring the actual work of the corrections. Sometimes out of the blue a contractor would show up unexpectedly. The warranty department takes days to answer. In essence, they took our money, an now we are forced to wait for all repairs to get done whenever they get done with no priority for us since it is not an emergency. The sale of our home was rushed. This caused the builder to rush the construction. We have open items still pending. And have had to submit multiple warranty issues.

Very bad experience with KB home, not a recommended builder.

Stop and reconsider. The sales manager is the worst person and provides awful customer service. He want me to desist from buying the house, and he was glad that that was the outcome. I persisted because otherwise they would have kept my deposit. The lender that they offer is literally unresponsive. I closed with another lender and never received an answer from KB home lender… why? They offer 10k closing cost assistance, but is just a trick! They did not provide me anything or give me information on why. The sales team was NOT present when I closed on the home… they avoided me! I got the keys in a bag on the garage… the only person greeted us where contractors that were still painting the home and cleaning… obviously they had no clue who we were. The house was delivered dirty, a knife blade on the kitchen countertop, bottles with paint open on the floor, it’s was horrible. We had not heard anything from KB home customer service about this… even as I competed a survey already… so that proves that they really don’t care about you. They only want you to blindly fill these surveys to make them look good on social media, but in reality their customer service is bad. ... More

In this current market you’d expect homes to be built better then ever. Interest rates are high and house prices are higher then ever. For those families still wanting to purchase a house. Buying one poorly built and shown lack of professionalism is disappointing. Trying to get someone to come do repairs is a joke. I thought it was just my house but after speaking with my neighbors it’s all our houses. When I met with KB homes the first time I was told how well their homes are built and how attentive they are to details when building homes. This is a like and a total joke. I would never ever recommend KB and or buy another KB home. ... More

Don’t recommend kb homes

Not worth your energy, hard earn money and investment. Very unprofessional employees FROM THE TOP TO THE BOTTOM, LOTS OF ISSUES WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK AND CHEAP MATERIALS USED, they try to fix the botched jobs they initially created but then create more work and more issues, Extremely unhappy with my 3016 square foot home, they also lack of empathy towards the new home owners. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND KB HOME BUILDER. unfortunately they ruined what was suppose to be the best experience for my family on building a New home. KBhome Lake Lucerne gets zero stars. RUN!!!!

I have been in the house for two months and it still has many details. The truth is that I would not recommend it to anyone, tremendous sectioning. Put people who are trained to supervise the construction of the houses.

Our home isn’t finished! It’s been 2 months since we closed.

I purchased a brand new home at the Mattie Pointe community in Auburndale Florida on 10/17/2022. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever imaged the disappointment I would have on what was supposed to be my dream home in Florida. It started on the day of my walk through that was scheduled 3 hours prior to my closing appointment in Orlando. I arrived to an unlocked home that was filled with construction materials, filthy, uncompleted work and many damages that needed to be addressed such as damaged kitchen cabinets, missing door locks, cosmetic damages to walls, broken window sill and much more to list. To add insult to it all, the construction manager was a “no show” for the walk through. I had to call our KB sales agent ( Mary) to come and see what I walked into that day. Mary herself was in disbelieve at the condition of the home that we were scheduled to close on in just a few hours. She was able to contact another construction manager ( Bryan ) to come and perform the walk through with us. At that time an exception letter was drafted with the issues that needed to be addressed to allow us to close as scheduled. I was assured my Bryan that all issues would be rectified in 30 days of signing. All said issues have not been completed and my latest construction issues has become a complete nightmare. What I have experienced with KB homes is complete dissatisfaction and have experienced the failures of the tradesmen that KB has hired to perform their construction of their homes. Tradesmen who do not takes pride in their work leading to construction issues that all could be prevented if they did. I have experienced nothing but empty promises to having work done on my home that should have been done correctly in the first place if people would have just taken pride on the work they do. The most unfortunate aspect is that their failures fall on KB’s reputation. The first day I moved in on 10/17 my master shower would not drain. I contacted the warranty department to have this addressed . It has been one set back after another and as of today still not completed. I have had to make several calls to have my shower repaired. The first plumber who came out to inspect the shower confirmed that there had been concrete poured down the drain and that is why the shower would not drain. The plumber left and said I would receive a phone call with further instructions. I never received any phone call and finally had to contact the warranty department again to find out what the next step would need to be. It was confirmed that a new shower pan would need to be installed in order to rectify this issue. Keep in mind that this has been an issue with alot of back and forth emails and phone calls since October. On 11/17 a service crew came out to remove the shower door and track. I was informed by the service man that the shower doors had been installed backwards and that when he returns to reinstall he will do them correctly.. Really! On 11/21 a crew came in to remove tile and drywall then the plumbing crew arrived to remove the old shower pan and replace with the new one. On 11/22 the tile crew returned to inform me that they could not re-tile the shower because the brand new shower pan was incorrectly installed. The plumbing supervisor returned to inspect the shower pan and said the pan was in stalled correctly and that the wall was not constructually correct and needed repair. The plumbing supervisor contacted the construction supervisor to come an inspect the wall. He would correct the wall himself and contact the tile crew to come back and complete the tile work. The construction supervisor left my home stating he did the necessary repairs and the tile crew would be back today to complete their work. A few hours later a construction serviceman arrived stating he was called to come and fix the wall in the shower. I had informed him that I was told it was all fixed by the construction manager. I had the construction serviceman exam the repair and was told that it was done incorrectly and was not the way a problem of that nature should be fixed. He then insisted on completing the repair and completing it correctly. The construction serviceman then informed me that the new shower pan that was installed less than 24 hours prior had been damaged with scratches and a corner piece broken off. These damage were not there during the plumbing inspection that was done with myself present that morning. These damages were done during the initial repair done by the construction manager. It’s now December and I still do not have use of my master bathroom and none of the other construction issues have been corrected. The lack of “ caring “ about the home owner from your construction tradesman, construction manager and your warranty department is just unimaginable. The lack of communication and sense of urgency in completing tasks is truly disheartening. Not to mention all the time I have taken out of work to get these repairs completed and still not one thing fixed. I am a home buyer who purchased my home in CASH. I expected to have a brand new home without damages and in working order. I purchased a home that was supposed to have 2 working bathrooms and beautiful undamaged kitchen cabinets, a wall that was supposed to be constructioned properly.. I did not receive any of those things. Would you go to a car dealership and purchase a brand new car with scratches and the engine not working?? I would hope not. My review of KB homes would rate poorly on customer service and I would not recommend using this builder. ... More

the worst experience of my life

KB Home provided the worst home buying experience a builder could give. The workmanship is horrible (still having the house fix after 2 months of being closed) and even the pending items list at closing is still pending. I was given the wrong cooktop twice and I am still waiting on my new one. Holes on the wall, showers leaking, doors in bad condition, door knobs falling off, outdoor panels popping up, painting pealing, electricity problems, to name a few. Most of it has been blamed on COVID, but COVID cannot be faulted for bad workmanship. I was told that other buyers are going through the same experience (how is that making the situation better?). I had to spend money to live in a Airbnb for almost 2 months because they were not being honest with the information. With the unnecessary money I spent, I could have put another down payment for another house or bought furniture and pay at least 3-4 months on my mortgage. I was left homeless with my family and I was the one that ended up with all the expenses. Will never recommend, I do not like the community, and unfortunately I do not like my house due to the experience KB Home made me go through. ... More
