I had a long "punch-list" when I moved it. It was pretty unacceptable. I've had to have subcontractors come out multiple times, and I am months away from having a "complete" house with no issues. KB is a budget builder, and it's fairly good value. You get what you pay for.

Good workmanship with quality products. A good sound home

Buying the home with Karen and Pamela was easy and pleasant. There have been several workmanship issues that now, almost 3 months in, haven’t all been taken care of. Everyone is SUPER nice, but it’s inconvenient to have to take off of work to get things fixed or to wait so long on solutions.

Beautiful community. Lacked communication. Couldn't get a clear date as to when we would close. After they found out we were upset they did go above and beyond to make us happy.

Tyler from the design studio was amazing! There were a few major things that really affected my rating. The first is when we toured the models with the sales rep we were lied to about included features. The second was they installed the wrong cabinets initially. We had to bring it to their attention because no one realized the mistake. The final thing was after doing the final walk through and marking the items that needed to be fixed we were promised they would be fixed by closing. Only half the items were corrected. I got to say the quality of the materials are very good a solid foundation. The value for the home I think I paid a little to much it was a new plan and the layout didn't have that open layout I was looking for. I order a cabinet two months before closing and still haven't come in from the manufacture. We closed a six weeks ago and still have not received my kitchen cabinet and now seems to know when are if it's been order. I call the builder and the company it takes days are weeks for someone to respond back. end of the day, the house is 5 star quality build and I believe it will stand the test of time. ... More

Our experience from the beginning was great. The sales staff did a great job of communicating the status of everything. Initially we had great communication with the building manager, but all of that changed drastically in the last 2 months. Communications ceased to exist and our closing date changed 6 times. We closed with a list of items that needed to be fixed promised by the builders. Months later we are still dealing with several of these issues. The warranty offered by the builder has been laughable and frustrating to deal with. Be prepared to have to be very patient when dealing with them during and after. ... More

I have a leak in my water heater more than a month and I receive my house without 2 cabinets doors that was supposed to be delivered in February 24th, but until now nothing. They return quickly my questions but I don’t have the real solution for my problems.

Overall ok experience. There are a lot things I wished would have been different but the process did turn out better than expected at the end.

The buying process was smooth when it came to actually dealing with a sales rep and closing. The building process though is not amazing and if you cannot go by every day and check on the work being done then I caution you. KB Home's motto in my neighborhood was build bigger for less and nothing could be more than true. The quality of work is spotty, no one is checking the trades peoples work the day they do things. Mistakes are made but rather than the construction crew in charge calling it out, I am the one that has to send pictures and bother them to fix it. I’m if you waiting to come and fix behind the old oven since the day I moved. They told me that they will take care of the issue ASAP. I’m still waiting.

Dahlia and Joey were great to work with. However, the underwriter(s) were terrible to work with. They made me feel I had to prove I was giving honest answers to anything and everything. Took them so long to do things that I needed to pay extra to get more time to close

Overall experience was great.

Attention to detail isn’t there. Holes hidden behind light fixtures, drywall not texted and covered with a mirror, ect.

My house wasn't done on time and was delayed several times, but for the most part all parties involved did the best they could during this situation and were very prompt and treated us well. Thank you

Do not fall for the so-called move-in ready homes. It could take more than 7 months to complete. It simply means the options are preselected and you can't make changes. Former sales rep was very arrogant and not providing updates. It took about 30 days for KB homes to sign their own part of the contract and another month to lay the foundation and this was only done after I contacted the area manager. Meanwhile the sales rep with whom I made the lot selection a couple of times sent me ongoing work in another property just to give impression that work had started and also knowing I was living two and a half hours away from the property location. So to get accurate information, I had to drive frequently to the site or send my realtor or the husband who is a colleague of mine. Just to buy time for anticipated mortgage rate increase, they completed the foundation and claimed they were waiting for blocks for another one month. After block work, it took another one month for the decking in the name of waiting for lumber. Consquently, closing was moved from December to January and finally to last week of February 2022. Had I not been on the neck of the underwriter to do their work, February closing may not have been possible. Worst of it all, the loan agent was very hesitant to reduce the loan amount after several reminders as though he wanted me to borrow more than I wanted, and this action of his as I learnt later, would have been more devastating had he not changed the loan amount just a couple of days before the final underwriting, meanwhile closing date was barely 4 days away. And at this time, I had exhausted my rate lock options, meaning I had to close on the stipulated date in February or borrow at higher interest rate should the closing be shifted because the loan processing had to be returned back for underwriting. The baffling part of the loan officer's action is that I had forwarded him the information on the available fund for closing. ! However, at the end, the area construction manager Tony, the construction manager Mike, and the lending manager Robert as well as Customer service manager Mark were very hepful and nice. Other than the backyard door screen that readily falls off (yet to be corrected), nails poking from beneath the rugs (now mostly fixed by KB), poor interior paint quality, a bit noisy and reverbaratory decking (guessing from not being padded well enough and the wood quality) beside other issues I detected during walk-through and later by a private inspector I hired (fixed), the home is pretty fair but a bit pricey for the square footage. So I do rate overall experience 3.5-4. Would have been lower going by my experience with the now gone sales rep with the loan officer. ... More

The initial selection process with the design studio and everything was great. We are happy with the price of the house when we purchased. We had many issues with workmanship and with getting those issues addressed. We went through several construction managers throughout the process, but they kept quitting KB. Our 3rd one has been very helpful and attentive to our needs, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. We are now moved in and still working on fixing a lot of little things.

There are lot of exceptions and issues after our closing. Chris - our warranty manager was extremely helpful in trying to sort out the issues, but still the delay in exception lists are unacceptable. Also, the quality of the materials are not up to the mark.

The KB home sales office staff, building superintendent and warranty personnel were excellent. very caring and personable.

The salesperson we dealt with was not forthcoming about the true price of the home or the options we would be getting in the home. Our concerns were not addressed properly until we reached out to higher management on our own as our sales agent would not do it. Once we tried to be made whole and expressed the concern to her manager, there was nothing done about it and we were made to feel like it was our fault and we were stuck. Outside of the sales agent and her boss that we dealt with, everyone else was great. Especially the project manager/builder. He took all of our concerns seriously and if there was nothing that could be done, he took the time to explain why. He was great! ... More

After choosing to go with KB Home to build my very first home, I must say that this experience could have been better. The property looked good until my family and I moved in. There were a few inconveniences inside the home that had to be fixed. Plus all the midges or blind mosquitoes that were inhabiting the house when we moved in. And don’t get me started on the untreated pond behind the house. I believe that a little more due diligence could have been placed into the workmanship of the house and the area around it specifically that pond. Overall the experience was “ok,” definitely not great. This experience actually made me rethink ever building a house. I don’t see myself recommending KB Home to any of my friends, family or anyone to be honest. ... More

High cost - Finishing was not good

very stressful experience, hope we enjoy our home

The initial process was smooth. My rep was very helpful providing info on how to get prequalified and get into contract. The build time was very long as I was told permits were delayed 3 months. I was being pushed to close on property before the build was complete which I didn't appreciate. My initial foreman retired midway thru build process but the superintendent that took over the build was great.
